Chapter 48:

🎃 Special Chapter : “A Spooky Little Announcement!”

Dear Diary : She’s crazy

Today should’ve been a peaceful after-school day.Key word: should’ve.

Instead, when I opened the classroom door, I was greeted by Kenta wearing vampire fangs, Daiki holding a party popper, and Mika tangled in orange tinsel like a lost pumpkin.

“Welcome, mortal!” Kenta announced dramatically, throwing fake cobwebs in my face. “You’ve entered… the Hall of Horror!”

I blinked. “You mean Class 1-B.”

"Wrong,” Daiki grinned. “It’s our Halloween Anniversary Party!”

“Halloween… what?”

Before I could process, a witch hat popped up from behind a desk. Airi, of course stepped out, smirking, holding a pumpkin-shaped candy bucket.

“Happy one-month anniversary, Yuuji.”
“Anniversary of what? My sanity leaving me?”

She rolled her eyes. “Our story’s ending, obviously. It’s been a whole month since the finale. The author didn’t have time to write a Halloween arc, so…”
She gestured at the chaos. “We’re doing it ourselves.”
Kenta raised a rubber bat. “And we’re combining it with an exclusive press conference!”

“Press conference?!”
Daiki and Mika pulled down a big banner that said, in very messy handwriting:

> 🎉 NEW STORY COMING SOON — CLAUSE & COUPLE! 🎃Release Date: October 27th!

Airi stepped forward like an idol at a concert. “Ladies and gentlemen, dear readers, our author’s new series will debut soon!”

Kenta: “Same writer, new chaos!”Daiki: “Possibly less bullying! But we make no promises!”Hina (from the back, sipping juice): “Statistically, it will still involve confusion and emotional pain.”

I rubbed my temple. “Why do I feel like I’m being replaced?”

Airi smiled sweetly. “You’re not being replaced, Yuuji. You’re being… retired gracefully.”

“That doesn’t sound any better!”

Daiki handed me a plastic cup of orange soda. “Come on, man. Think of it as our graduation party. You know... final bow, happy ending, the works.”

Kenta nodded. “And hey, we even have costumes! You’re the last one.”

He threw a vampire cape at me.
I stared. “No.”
Airi tilted her head. “You’ll look cute.”
“…Fine.”

As fake cobwebs hung from the ceiling and Mika accidentally knocked over the snack table for the third time, everyone started laughing. It wasn’t a loud or fancy celebration just messy, warm, and weirdly sentimental.
Airi climbed onto a desk (because of course she did) and raised her soda cup.

“To our readers!” she said. “Thank you for staying with us through every chapter the laughter, the chaos, the awkward love stuff—”

Daiki: “—and Yuuji’s constant mental breakdowns.”Kenta: “Can confirm.”Mika: “Also the cute moments!”Hina: “Don't forget the delusion.”
Everyone laughed. Even Airi.

Then, as the laughter faded, a soft breeze slipped through the open window. The orange ribbons on the wall fluttered and for a second, I saw her.

Standing by the door, smiling like she’d never left.

Usagi.

She didn’t say anything at first. Just that warm, calm smile that always felt like sunrise after a storm.

Then softly —“Hey, Yuuji.”
My chest tightened. “...Hey.”

“Don’t look so serious,” she said with a little laugh. “You did great. All of you did.”

Airi turned, eyes wide for a second, before relaxing into a gentle smile. For one moment, they both existed like a reflection meeting its own heart.

“Happy Halloween,” Usagi said, waving faintly. “And thank you for remembering me.”

Then the window curtains swayed again and she was gone.

Kenta clapped his hands loudly. “Alright! Group photo before Yuuji starts crying!”

“I’m not crying!”

“Sure you aren’t,” Daiki smirked.

We all crowded together by the board. Behind us, in Airi’s neat handwriting, were the words:

> ‘Clause & Couple — October 27th 💕’See you there.

The camera flashed.

📓 Yuuji’s Mental Diary — Halloween Anniversary Edition

Event: 1-Month Party + “Clause & Couple” announcement

Airi Status: Witchy and dangerously cute

Usagi Status: Peaceful… like she always was

Mental State: Pretending there’s dust in my eyes

Costume Rating: 2/10 (still the cape)

Final Thought:

Even if our story’s over, memories don’t end. They just wait quietly like Usagi, smiling somewhere off-page.

💌 From Everyone at Class 1-B

Airi: “Thank you for reading our story. You made it special.”

Yuuji: “Thanks for laughing with us and sometimes at us.”

Daiki: “You kept our chaos alive!”

Hina: “Your comments gave our author motivation.”

Mika: “Thank you for loving everyone here.”

Kenta: “And don’t forget to cheer for the new story!”

Usagi (softly): “I’ll see you again soon.”

All together:

> “See you once every new holiday the author enjoys enough to write us a new chapter!” 🎃
