Chapter 23: The Time Bending

Asual told Qyren, "You said others got killed but they have only been hurt. They are not dead."

Luar stepped forward quickly. He said, "I will cover their wounds. You guys go after the enemy."

Zephric spoke slowly. He said, "Captain don't go after them. It is no use. They are too strong for us."

Asual said, "You have a point."

Mateo told Asual, "Why don't you use your power?"

Asual said, "So you are on my side? I have the ability to move faster."

Mateo said, "That is something you only get with it."

Asual and the others sat on horses. Ofurd thought to himself, "This is very interesting. Even though we are not in the real world I hope we don't forget what we came here for in the first place."

Thrynn took an arrow out and shot down one of the guards. Royal Guard 9242 shouted, "One of us is down!"

All the royal guards drew their swords. Then they saw her. The third princess of Astrina. Maelis Gray Hart.

Maelis told every guard, "Attack! Kill these useless creatures!"

None of the soldiers moved at all.

Maelis said, "Did you hear me or not?"

Then Maelis closed her eyes. Something happened. All the soldiers started bleeding out.

Maelis got scared. She said, "What... what is this place? Don't kill me! Spare my life!" She collapsed to the ground terrified.

Then Asual appeared behind Princess Maelis. He got close to her ear and whispered, "Boom."

Maelis jumped back startled. She said, "How did you get here?"

In less than a second Asual had Maelis on his back.

Mateo, Luar, Ofurd, Kamil, and Thrynn said, "Finally! Our brother is up! Thank God they are alive."

Mateo, Luar, Ofurd, Kamil, Thrynn, Valtor, Qyren, Zephric, Orvian, Kryndel, Jorvek, and Lorfer were all looking around confused at the strange magic happening.

Mateo thought to himself, "So this is what this power does. Time bending. I thought he couldn't be seen but I owned this ability before so unfortunately it doesn't work on me."

Asual thought to himself, "Timeless time bending."

Mateo got close to Asual. He said, "Hey. I can see you are having a lot of fun but stop using it too much. Time has stopped."

Asual said, "Why can't I use this unlimited times?"

Mateo said, "You can't. You have already used it eight times today. You can only use it ten times per day."

Asual said, "Ok. I think you should go back to the others."

Mateo left. Then Asual spoke to the princess.

Asual said, "Hey princess. We will escort you to the palace."

Maelis thought to herself, "Will you let me live?"

Asual said, "Yes. But we will want a reward. Gold, silver. Something of value."

Maelis said, "Will you really let me live? But how can I trust you? You just took my soldiers' lives did you not?"

Asual was confused. He thought to himself, "What the hell should I even tell her?"

Asual stopped time again and asked Mateo for advice.

Mateo whispered, "You could tell her that a monster killed them. It was so fast you couldn't even see it. Or you could tell her that her people attacked first and that is why you fought back."

Asual let time resume. He turned to Maelis.

Asual said, "You attacked my men first. We did nothing to you. It was you who started this."

Maelis shuddered. She thought to herself, "Ok. Maybe I can offer them everything they want. But I have to talk to my father first."
