Chapter 27: The Cards of Anims

Betray

Nad said, “Give me the scissors.” One of the workers handed them over. Nad cut the third item. “All done,” he said. Ivore laughed. “It’s no use. You can’t just bring them back.”

“There is a possibility,” Nad replied. He told Ivore that the sites were ready and tried to smile, but when he looked at his grandkids and at Oen’r and Eman Haare, the smile faded.

He pulled out a remote. “Pick a random card,” he instructed everyone. Ivore said, “Do as he tells you.” One by one, the men picked cards. Nad explained, “You can get a medal from these cards. Cut your skin with it, and that will write your name on the card. Then put it in these holes, and you will get fifteen thousand years.”

Ivore’s eyes widened. “Fifteen thousand?”

Nad’s heart started racing. “It’s fifteen thousand migsles,” he said.

“Migsles?” Ivore asked.

“It is the quality,” Nad said. Everyone put their cards in. A bad thing appeared. Nad said, “Before you lay inside the bed, can anyone put my grandsons’ cards?” Four men came and picked up the bodies of Nick and Tacrc. Nad whispered his thanks.

“There’s a very big number of people,” Nad thought. “You guys might not all be in one place. And one more thing, there are forty-six other people from this place.”

Ivore stood and told Nad, “Hey, let’s have a chat.” Both of them went to a corner.

Ivore asked, “What are you not telling me?”

“That is everything to know,” Nad said.

Ivore punched the wall in frustration, then went to the anims and closed his eyes. All of them went to a dark place. A hole appeared in the sky, and every player was thrown to random locations.

Ivore tried to land safely with a strong punch, but he broke his entire arm. He was unconscious. When he woke, it was night. He looked at his left hand,it was gone. Ivore looked calm for a moment, then scanned the empty surroundings, screaming in frustration, “Uhhhuhuhuhuhu! Damn it! Damn, damn, damn!” This place felt like hell.

Somewhere else in the anims, Maelis said, “This man is going to be shown to your room.”

Orvian and Asual said, “Finally! I have been waiting for this to happen.”

Butlare 09244 said, “Follow me.” All thirteen of them followed the butler. They went straight, took a left, then up the stairs, then right, then another left, then straight, then left again.

The butler said, “Here. This is your room.”

Asual thought, “How are we going to leave this place? It’s more like a puzzle.” They all went to sleep.

Much later, Mateo woke up, thinking about what the chief might have meant. Was the assassin really back, the one who took his parents?

The next day, Luar opened the door. Asual screamed, “Stop right there!” Everyone was scared. Asual said, “You fool! Do you know how hard it was to get here? We have to wait for someone to escort us to the exit!”

Luar apologized, but Mateo thought, I can’t let this guy in the high hours, but he is still the leader of this little group. It is whatever.

The butler appeared again. “Can you follow me?” Everyone followed to the royal dining hall. There were many sweets, malleable butter, and chess-like spreads.

Asual said, “Look at this food! It makes me want to eat it all.”

Mateo asked, “When is the king going to show?”

Ofurd said, “He has been sitting here since the start.”
