Chapter 2:

Kurehito Akatsuki

(GL/Yuri) A (Not So) Scary Halloween for Two [one shot]

“Sorry!” I spun around to face the wall. “I uhm, I uhm, I wasn’t thinking.”

“Whatever.”

In reality, turning around didn’t do anything to help Aki. Our family had installed a massive mirror in this bathroom, so even still, looking to my right, I could see her entirely through reflection.

Of course she had on the matching set of underwear, as her panties had the same flower patterns embroidered across them.

Denying this atmosphere is super awkward is crazier than denying grass being green. Seriously! What’s the problem with me right now! We’re both girls, this is simply a none-issue.

But I mean, having me turn around like this undeniably puts us at a different standing than just two friends, right? Because for two friends, this is nothing.

Do we feel uncomfortable around each other because we’re not as close as friends, even!?

That has to be it. Surely.

Thinking that put a sharp pang in my head… I knew that wasn’t right.

Though… there is that… thing we did. N-no! Because that was something just between friends, nothing more. There should be zero reasons this is awkward.

What does that make my relationship with her…?

“I— I’m finished.” Aki spoke meekly.

I turned back towards her and she looked dangerous… Seriously dangerous.

“Are you jus’ gonna stare? Or are ya gonna say something?” Aki put her hands on her hips. “Tell me how I look, or somethin’.”

I had gotten her the cop costume for my inmate one. A deep navy-blue pencil skirt and a lighter shade of it for her button-down shirt. The sort of hat you see American cops wear and a tool-belt fully loaded with props. It was a bit pricey but… I wanted to try a little bit with these.

“The skirt’s a bit short… You’re seriously a pervert, Akatsuki.” Aki tugged at it a bit in an attempt to lengthen it—but to no avail.

“No I’m not! It’s just the one that was in the store! I didn’t do it on purpose.”

A natural silence fell over us. The air between us still felt dense, but it was definitely not due to our silence.

“So,” I spoke up. “Ready to go?”

Aki smirked. “Ya’ know, since I’m technically the law seein’ as I’m a cop, I get to dictate our lil’ agreement we have—no? Since it’s a legal document or somethin’.”

“Our agreement isn’t even written down! A-and that’s not how cops work!” She’s clearly trying to pull something here. “Let’s just go.” I tried to convince her by adding on the sweetest smile I could muster.

I took a few steps but as I passed her, a hand landed on my shoulder. “I want to add something to this deal… of me comin’ to your party.”

I have no choice, do I?

“...O-okay,” I said.”

Aki guided me to stand in front of her.

What’s happening? What does she want to add?

“I’ll only go if you give me another kiss,” She said in a fairly flat tone.

Like flipping a switch, my face went from white to crimson. “Hahah… v-very funny, Aki.”

“I'm serious.”

She was too close and it fried my brain. Her green eyes, the sweet smell of her perfume almost begging me to come closer to get a better whiff, her lips I kept involuntarily glancing at.

The first time we… kissed, it was a spur-of-the-moment thing. In the classroom after school, I was curious because she’d been teasing me so much about it. It was a one time thing.

I kept telling myself that, but our faces kept getting closer.

“So? Do you want me to come to the party?” She asked.

“Yes.” The words left my mouth before I could consider what I said.

I glanced down at her lips, then back to her eyes.

Is this happening? Is she really about to… k-kiss me again?

Why can’t I move away? Just take a step back.

Before I could process anything else, I felt the warmth of her face right up against mine, and the tenderness of her lips be placed gently onto mine.

Our kiss wasn’t a push-and-pull act—it was the Aki solo show. She pushed deeply against my lips, then pulled away and came back in as she pleased.

W-what is this feeling? It still doesn’t feel quite right… This isn’t how I imagined it would feel when you kissed your lover…

It made sense though—because we weren’t lovers. And didn’t have a relationship like that.

My sense came back to me all at once, it was all too overwhelming. I shoved Aki back and wiped my mouth with the back of my hand.

Between a few quick breaths I said, “You s-said one kiss! T-that was way more!”

Aki shook her head in disagreement. “Nuh-uh, that was just one long one. Clearly not long enough because I want more.”

“Hey-hey-hey!” I put my arms out to keep the power-hungry cop at bay. “The deal was one.”

“Heyyy! They’re here!” Taeko greeted me with a hug at the door. A symphony of hi’s and hello’s came from behind her. “What took you guys so long? You texted me “be there in ten minutes” and it took you twenty?”

I was about to answer but Aki took that liberty and spoke over me. “We found a cat on the way.”

“Oh really??” Taeko’s eyes lit up into stars. “I didn’t know you were the type to like cats, Hirakawa!”
