Chapter 1:
The Paradise Empire: The Land of Ten Rivers season 1 part 1
Scene 9 — The Question (Back at the Banyan Tree)[Setting: The quiet bench beneath the Banyan Tree. The fire still glows faintly.]
The scene shifts back to the present moment, following the dramatic “End of Prologue” flash.
The Boy (still wide-eyed, processing the grand visions, but sharp with curiosity): “Wait—wait, Grandpa! When did God of Glory Vīrayya marry Śāntam’mā, the Goddess of Peace and Fortune?” And when did the Great Protector God Nalannaya marry Velugamma, Goddess of Light
and Wealth—as his second wife? And when did God of Glory Vīrayya get a single-horned white horse, and the Great Protector God Nalannaya get the white elephant? When did all that happen?
Grandfather (pauses, surprised by the boy’s sharp memory): O, you are right. I completely forgot about that. I was too focused on the story of our hero Vīra and totally forgot about a major event before that. And due to my old age, I forget things here and there.
(The boy leans closer, eager.)
Boy: So what was it, Grandpa?
Grandfather (his eyes gleaming): Mahāyudham. The Great Cosmic War—the war between three mighty factions: the Divine Gods, the Elemental Gods, and the Half Human- Winged Entities. That… that was when everything changed.
Boy (awed): What happened?
(The old man closes his eyes. The sound of a deep drum echoes—and the scene shifts into a storm of light and shadow.)
Scene 10 — The God of Destruction(Thunder roars. The skies swirl with red and gold clouds. Across the battlefield stand three armies—the radiant Divine Gods, the blazing Elemental Gods, and the fearsome Half-Human Winged Entities.)
(In the midst of it all stands God of Glory Vīrayya. Once graceful and beautiful, his form now trembles with fury. His golden armor cracks, and red flames pour from his body. He grows vast and terrible—eyes blazing like twin suns, a thick black mustache curling across his face, multiple arms bursting forth from his sides, each holding a weapon of divine wrath.)
Vīrayya (roaring): “I am the fire that devours deceit! I am the fury of righteousness! Tremble before me, betrayers of peace!”
(The Half-Human Winged Entities look upon him in terror. their wings faltering, their voices shrieking in awe and fear.)
(Then the earth trembles again—and from the opposite side strides the Great Protector God Nalannaya, mighty and solemn, now bearing many arms, each hand gripping a divine weapon: mace, trident, bow, discus, and sword. Around him storms of lightning and wind swirl, and the Elemental Gods fall before his might.)
Narration (Grandfather’s voice): “God of Glory Vīrayya turned into the God of Destruction, and the Great Protector God Nalannaya fought beside him—breaking the pride of the Elemental Gods and the Half-Human Winged Entities and the Sky God himself.”
(Scene cuts—flash after flash—the Winged Entities screaming, storms crashing, molten rivers forming—until at last, silence falls. The divine light returns.)
Scene 11 — Peace and Gifts
(The boy gasps, eyes wide. For a moment, the vision of war lingers in his mind. He shakes his head quickly to clear it.)
Boy (still breathless): W-what happened then?
Grandfather (calmly, smiling faintly): “After the defeat of the Half-Human Winged Entities, the Divine Gods banished them far away—beyond the lands where the Sun sets.
They fled westward and became the gods worshipped by another empire beneath alien skies.”
(The fire crackles gently.)
“Meanwhile, the Elemental Gods and the Sky God sought forgiveness. Peace was made between the Divine Gods and the Elemental Gods. In gratitude, the Sky God offered his daughters in marriage.”
(Soft music—flute plays as the divine wedding scenes appear in faint glowing visions.)
“God of Glory Vīrayya married Śāntam’mā, the Goddess of Peace and Fortune. Great Protector God Nalannaya married Velugamma, the Goddess of Light and Wealth.
As gifts of divine honor, the Sky God bestowed sacred creatures upon them—a single-horned white horse for Vīrayya, swift as the wind, and a white elephant for Nalannaya, steadfast as the earth.”
(Gentle light returns; the old man smiles softly, gazing at the flickering flame.)
“And thus peace was restored among gods and elements alike. The Elemental Gods became guardians of the Northern Tribes, and all was calm once more. But, my boy…”
(He leans forward.)
“…the Mahāyudham—the Great Cosmic War—that is no short tale. It is long and filled with wonders and terrors beyond imagining.”
Grandfather: “So, which story do you want to know: the story of our hero Vīra, or the story of the Mahāyudham?
Boy (smiling, shaking his head): “No, no, Grandpa. For now, tell me only the story of our hero Vīra. You can tell about that war later.”
