Chapter 6:
The Wish Granters' Game
The white knight slowly approached us as he summoned a sword. "Quick Manager, and Akari, get into your battle forms." With a flash of light, Akari transformed and had a fox mask and a polearm. "What are you waiting for, Manager? Akari asked. "It would be pointless to transform. Right, sleep paralysis demon?" The fox turned her head away, trying to ignore my comment.
"Look, we don't have time for this!" Akari shouted. "Fine." I don't know how to, but I just envisioned myself changing and was met with a blinding light. "Well, are you going to change or not, manager?" "I did." "You did?" Akari looked at me, shocked, then started laughing. "Hey, don't laugh at me!" She started laughing louder, and I also heard a small chuckle from a certain fox.
"Sorry, but what kind of form is that?" She said while trying to stop herself from laughing. "Says the girl who only put on a mask." "Well, mine is..." Before she could finish, the knight charged at her. She dodged and hit his sword away with her polearm. He continued the charge, but Akari was too fast and kept dodging and deflecting his attacks.
"Are you not going to join in, Manager?" Miki asked. "With what weapon? Both of them got weapons, why don't I get one?" "Oh, sorry, here let me summon you one." With a blinding light, a fry basket appeared in my hand. Really, a fry basket? "What am I supposed to do with this?" Miki let out a small chuckle.
"Maybe, fry him." She burst out laughing at her own bad joke. I'm so unamused that I'm annoyed. Well, might as well try. I looked over at them, and the knight managed to land a hit on Akari, which tossed her towards me. I reached out and caught her. She turned her face to look at me. I couldn't see her face, but I could see the edges of her face starting to turn a bright red.
"Unnn unhand me!" she shoved me away. I guess I shouldn't have helped then. "Hey, Mister Kight Guy. What's your deal anyway?" He stopped attacking and had gotten into some weird pose. "I'm the shining knight that will protect, Yippie Bunny Pink!" I know I'm old and whatnot, but what in the hell is a Yippie Bunny? I looked over at Akari, and she looked confused, too, and shrugged.
"Now, prepare yourself, for I will get my wish and marry her." What's wrong with kids these days? He lunged at us, but we both dodged. He then swung a follow-up at me, so I used the fry basket to block it. A loud rattling noise echoed around me as the sword made contact with the basket. Akari took the opportunity to swing at him, but he summoned a shield and blocked her.
That's not fair; he gets a sword and a shield. The knight pushed Akaria back, chasing them to put distance between us. "Hey, Miki, can I also get another weapon?!" "Sure." Another blinding light hit me, and a ketchup bottle appeared in my hand. "Really!" "Sorry... but... You have to... ketchup to them." Miki struggled to say while she was laughing. I resisted the urge to smack her, since Akaria has her hands full dealing with the knight.
I started running towards the knight and yelled out to him. "Hey, dumb knight! Think fast!" The knight turned around to look at me, and that's when I tossed the ketchup bottle at him. The knight instinctively slashed the bottle, which caused it to explode all over his helmet. He was stumbling around like he couldn't see.
This is my opportunity to strike. I quickly ran up to him and slammed the fry basket onto his head. The basket was wrapped around his head. "Akari!" She ran up to him and slammed her polearm into his head, which caused the basket to break on his head. The basket slid down to his waist, rendering him unable to move. A few seconds later, he fell over, and the armor disappeared.
What was left was a chunky-looking neet in a smelly tracksuit. Well, that was eventful. "Manager, you did pretty well for your first official fight." "And you were pretty bad." Akari punched me in the arm. "What? You were barely holding your own." "Says the fry cook, who barely did anything." "Hey, this is my second time beating him so." "The first time doesn't count. I weakened him after all."
"Suuure you did." "Why you!" Akari was clearly getting more annoyed with me and took a step closer to really hit me. However, she stopped when we heard something breaking. We both looked down to see an odd anime-like keychain on the ground. Akari picked it up and held it to the light. "What the hell is this?" She asked.
I took a closer look and saw a name on the keychain: "Yippie Bunny Pink." "So he wants an anime character to marry him?" "I don't know. It could be one of those VTuber streamers?" "V... what?" Akari looked at me, then dropped the keychain. "Best not to worry about people's crazy wishes." Can't argue with that, I guess.
All of a sudden, a bright flash appeared in front of me, and a wishing orb was floating right in front of me. I grabbed the orb, and it stopped floating. "Oh, right, I guess this is the first time you've seen this," Akari said. I looked over, and she was holding one too. "The orbs are prizes for winning the fight. When you claim them, they will help Miki make your wish a reality."
Curiously struck me. What does Akari wish for? "So, what are you wishing for, Akari?" She stared off into the distance. "That's for me to know, and you not to." "Oh, if you want to know about her wish, then I'll..." Akari ran over to Miki and placed her hands over her mouth. "You, better not tell him!" "Is it really that bad?" "No... it's... It's embarrassing, okay." "Fine, but what do we do with him?" I asked while pointing to the former knight lying on the ground.
