Chapter 2:

UNKNOWN VOICE

LinKing

He whispered softly to himself,

“So… I’ve been reincarnated?”

Roshan panicked a little.

“Huh? What happened? I thought after dying I’d either go to heaven or hell… but I reincarnated?

Am I even human? Or did I become a monster?

But my hands feel like those of a normal human baby…”

Roshan looked around the room.

“Whoa… this room is huge. And luxurious too.

Did I get born into a rich family?

Thank you God, I’m rich in my second life!

I only saw this in anime, never thought it could actually happen.

Ah! In all this excitement I forgot… what happened to those girls who were with me?

I hope they’re safe… they should be. Those guys stabbed me and ran away anyway.

At least I had that policy—my family must’ve gotten a good payout.

But why am I alone on such a big bed?

Do they not care about me?

What should I do to go see my mom and dad? I need to confirm if I’m still human…”

Roshan thought hard until an idea struck him.

“What do babies do? …They cry.

So I should cry too.”

Roshan started crying loudly.

A maid nearby heard the sound and rushed to the room.

She opened the door, saw the baby awake, and froze in surprise.

Roshan looked at her and thought:

“Huh? Who’s this girl? Judging by her clothes, she’s probably a maid.”

The maid was shocked.

“Ms. Lawine! The baby has opened his eyes!”

She shouted and ran out of the room.

“(Hey! Why’d she run away after seeing me? Am I that ugly?)”

Soon he heard several footsteps approaching.

He looked at the door again — a tall woman with red hair, a hat on her head, and elegant western clothes entered with four maids behind her.

Seeing the crying baby, even she was surprised.

She rushed forward and gently picked him up.

“Finally… you opened your eyes.

It’s been ten whole days, my child.”

“(Ah, so she’s my mother… she’s really beautiful.)”

Then a man entered the room, along with a small girl behind him.

“Has my precious boy finally opened his eyes?

Let me hold him — I want to see my child.”

“(So that man and this woman… are my parents.

And that little girl— is she my sister?)”

The girl spoke softly:

“Uncle, it looks like Kondo is completely fine now.”

“(Wait… what? Kondo?

My name is Kondo?!

Who names their son Kondo??

Whatever… I’ll accept it.)”

The man replied,

“You’re right, Maria.

Kondo seems perfectly fine now.

But we’ll still get the doctor to check him once.”

Maria pouted.

“That means, Uncle… I still can’t play with him?”

“Not yet, Maria.

Until we confirm he’s fully healthy, we need to take good care of him.”

Maria nodded.

“Alright… but after that, I can play with him, right?”

“Yes, after that you can.”

He turned to the maid.

“Lawine, hold him carefully. Don’t drop him—give him to me.”

But Lawine hugged the baby tighter.

“No, I won’t give him yet!

He just saw his mother!”

“Lawine, come on… let me hold my own child too!”

Then a butler entered.

“Mr. Sam, some people have come to meet you.”

Sam looked at him.

“Ah, so they’ve arrived.

Lawine, I’ll go meet them.

After that, we’ll head to the doctor.”

Lawine nodded.

' aunty after my homework complete,i will play with kondo '

'okay , if you any trouble in homework ask to butler '

'okay aunty '

Sam and Maria left the room.

A maid spoke,

“Ma’am, I think the baby is hungry.”

“Alright. You all may leave the room.”

“Yes ma’am.”

The four maids exited and closed the door.

---

9 Years Later…

Nine years passed, and Kondo had grown into a nine-year-old boy.

He was getting ready while Lawine and Sam were having breakfast in the garden.

In these years, Kondo had learned all the basic knowledge of this world.

(Hello, I’m Kondo. My name is weird, but whatever.

I’ve learned the language and even the magic system here.

This world really has monster magic—just like anime.

I’m so happy.

My dad is the Financial Minister of the Verland Kingdom, working directly under King Veld.

To the Verland kingdom is the Polard Kingdom—separated by an ocean—but they still attack us sometimes.

Even summoned heroes take part in these wars.

When I first heard that, even I was shocked.

But why are Japanese people always the ones being summoned?

Verland’s current hero is Yen Kaguraza.

I don’t know about Polard’s hero though…

Anyway, forget all that—this is my second life.

I’ll leave my past behind and enjoy this world!)

Kondo walked into the garden and sat beside Lawine to start his breakfast.

Sam was reading the newspaper.

Suddenly Sam dropped a small “bomb.”

“Oh good, Kondo, you’re here.”

“Why, what happened, Dad?” Kondo said while chewing bread.

“Finish your breakfast first.

But yes—there’s news.

You will start going to school now.”

“WHAT?!”

Kondo didn’t like school.

In his previous life he had neither good friends nor a girlfriend.

Lawine sighed.

“I don’t want to send him either… but he must go.

Otherwise he won’t grow up smart like you, Mr. Husband.

Besides, his elder sister and Maria also study in Levianth School.

They’ll take care of him.”

“You’re right. Linda is there too.”

(Linda… I haven’t seen her much since childhood.

But according to Maria, she’s really strict.)

Lawine continued:

“Yes, she’s close to her final year.

She said she wants to become a teacher there.”

Sam nodded.

“Oh really?

Well, she’ll turn fifteen soon. She’ll graduate soon too.

After that I’ll find a good man for her to marry.”

BONK!

Lawine smacked him.

“Don’t even think about that!

I want her to work in the royal palace and marry the Prince!”

Sam laughed awkwardly.

“Forget that for now—we must go to the temple.

Kondo, get ready. Your entrance exam is the day after tomorrow.

Score well and bring honor to our family! Ahahaha!”

“Okay, Dad…”

After breakfast, they headed to the gate where the butler waited beside the carriage.

They all got inside, and the carriage rolled out.

Kondo looked out the window—he rarely left the mansion, so everything fascinated him.

Soon they reached the grand temple.

They stepped out while the butler took the carriage away.

Kondo looked around in awe—trees, flowers, and a beautiful fountain decorated the entrance path.

At the stairs, the temple caretaker greeted them.

“Welcome, Mr. Sam. What brings you here today?”

“Good to see you, Mr. Ronald.

I’m here to register my son for the upcoming exam.”

Ronald smiled at the boy.

“And what’s your name, young one?”

“My name is Kondo Riot.

Nice to meet you, sir.”

“A polite boy—just like his father.”

Kondo noticed Lawine puffing her cheeks at that remark.

Inside the temple, many children were registering.

Lawine went to handle the paperwork.

Meanwhile, a man approached Sam.

“Hello Mr. Sam, how have you been?”

“Ah, Mr. Kiora!

Nice to see you.

You’re here for your child too?”

“Yes, to register my son Gild.

Looks like you’re here for the same.”

“That’s right.”

Kiora smirked.

“Let’s see whose child scores higher in the magic test, Mr. Sam.

Haha! See you at the test.”

He walked off.

(Dad doesn’t seem to like him…)

Soon Lawine returned.

“All done! Now let’s go offer prayers.”

Inside the prayer room stood the statue of a woman spreading her arms wide.

Sam explained,

“This is the Healing Goddess—one of the Seven Gods.

She couldn’t bear to see her children in pain and always helped people.

We pray to her for blessings.”

They folded their hands.

As Kondo closed his eyes to pray, he suddenly heard a soft female voice:

“Oh… you finally came.”

And in the other ear, a deep heavy voice:

“This is going to be fun…”

Suddenly the priest screamed:

“N-NO!!

This is terrible!

The Goddess statue—

It hasn’t shed tears in 800 years…

And now… it’s crying!

Is the apocalypse returning?!”

Kondo’s eyes shot open.

Even he was stunned—the statue truly had real tears flowing down.

(But what were those two voices I heard?

Whatever… it’s not like I’m the main character or anything.)

But Sam looked worried. He whispered to the priest and caretaker:

“Do not let this news leave the temple.

Notify the temple administration.

I will inform the King—but not yet.

His Majesty is coming here soon.”

They nodded.

The three left the prayer room and went to the area where the Magic Rank Test was being held.

Magic capacity was tested by placing a hand on a magic crystal ball.

Soon, King Veld himself arrived.

Sam whispered something to him, making the King’s eyes widen.

“We’ll discuss this in the evening.

Make sure this doesn’t spread.”

Kondo’s eyes drifted to a girl behind the King—surrounded by three bodyguards.

She seemed his age, wearing a red dress and holding an elegant fan.

Lawine nudged him.

“Ahem! Don’t stare too much—you’ll leave a bad impression.”

Kondo quickly looked away.

“Who is that man with the big sword?”

“Oh, he’s a summoned hero—Yen Kaguraza.”

(A summoned hero?!

So he’s from another world…

He does look strong.)

Then a lady announced:

“Everyone, please step forward for your children’s magic testing!”

One by one, children placed their hands on the crystal.

Most received B, C, or D ranks.

The girl in the red dress received A+, shocking Kondo.

Kiora’s son received B+.

Then it was Kondo’s turn.

Sam, Lawine, and Kondo approached.

Kondo placed his hand on the crystal and concentrated.

He felt a green light envelop him.

As he tried to touch it—

A voice echoed from the darkness:

“No, stop.

Don’t touch that.”
