200 years ago, Amaterasu retreated from the world, plunging it into eternal darkness.
The Kami, once helpers and even friends to mortals, grew distant and deaf to mankind.
The imperial regalia, once symbols of nobility, were scattered across the nation by divine forces.
But just before their separation, a vision of Susanoo was seen by all in the land.
"Three symbols. One for valour, one for wisdom, one for power. Mankind has grown complacent and tiresome to look at. Let anyone worthy enough gather the Three Treasures, and they shall be emperor once more."
Now the fires of war consume Nippon.
With the previous Emperor assassinated and the Shogun's power waning, rival daimyo now fight for divine favor, employing Shamans seeking to restore divine grace upon the land.
Amidst the chaos and smoke, three clans have risen above the ashes of war to spearhead the unification efforts.
The Takeda clan, cunning and ruthless, led by the Tiger of Kai, Takeda Shingen. The Uesugi clan, proud and mighty, spearheaded by the Dragon of Echigo, Uesugi Kenshin. And the Hojo clan, fearless and indomitable, under the rule of Hojo Ujimasa.
A new era is on the horizon.
