Chapter 11:

Miracles Happen

Life: Elfsei Mayumi Yumi

The wind shook the tall grass around me, but I barely felt the cold.

My hand trembled slightly as I held the communication device.

Galadriel 's words still echoed like a blade inside my head.

I took a deep breath.

"Miss Galadriel ... what do you have to say that's so urgent about the Demon King?" I asked.

There was a brief silence, heavy as lead.

The Demon King isn't exactly a man... but rather a woman. Currently, the demons are ruled by a queen named Shana. "Demonic ," Galadriel replied in a firm voice.

My heart raced.

Shana ... Demonic ?

But Galadriel did not finish.

— Actually… Shana Demonic doesn't currently command the demons. — he continued Galadriel .

Breathing became short.

"Explain to me what's happening!" I pleaded , almost in despair.

Lucifer back . Demonic , an ancient and cruel Demon King. He is Shana 's great-grandfather . But, unlike him, Shana is kind and generous. A radical group, opposed to her rule and a supporter of Lucifito , expelled Shana from her own kingdom. — she explained Galadriel .

My eyes widened.

"But can't you do anything?" I asked.

A heavy sigh escaped through the glass.

"I rescued her and brought her to the Elven Kingdom . I thought about taking her in, but Shana warned me that the opposition might have spies infiltrated among the Elven, Angelic, and Beast races," he replied . Galadriel .

My throat tightened.

"So what did you do then?" I asked again.

"I studied the elven barrier that Elfhrinsei erected in the Human Realm here in World One. I used that knowledge to create a seal compatible with that barrier, allowing Shana to enter undetected by the demons," he replied . Galadriel .

My blood ran cold.

"That came at a cost, didn't it?" I asked, already expecting the worst.

"Yes. The seal removed her demonic powers and sealed her original appearance, giving her an ordinary human form," he explained . Galadriel .

The mental image of a powerful queen reduced to a helpless girl burned in my chest.

"You sent someone to stay with her, right?" I asked, with a glimmer of hope.

Galadriel 's voice faltered for the first time.

"Unfortunately, I couldn't. I'm sorry... for being such a terrible queen," Galadriel apologized.

I closed my eyes for a moment.

"You did the best you could. Don't apologize," I said.

There was silence.

A heavy, but genuine silence.

So finally.

" Yumi ... I need to give you a new mission. Are you ready?" he asked. Galadriel .

I felt my heart race, not from fear, but because I knew that nothing would be the same after this.

"I'm listening," I replied.

And everything fell silent, waiting for her answer.

" Yumi ... I need you to find Shana and watch her from afar. Monitor her behavior and write a report. After that, you can introduce yourself to her, but don't say I asked for a report on her." Galadriel 's voice sounded heavy, laden with tension.

I clenched my fists.

"But what is the purpose of the report?" I asked.

Shana is a good person, but she's still very young. She's only 20 years old. So she still lacks life experience. — he replied Galadriel .

"WHAT?!!!" I yelled, shocked.

"What is it, Yumi ?!" Galadriel asked.

"I was surprised to learn that the current queen of demons is only two years older than me!" I replied.

" Phew, so that's all. I thought something had happened. But... Shana became queen early because her parents died when she was 13 years old." Galadriel sighed in relief.

The pain tightened in my chest.

"So she lost her parents when she was a child... just like Filna and I. "

" Yumi , can I count on you for this mission?" he asked. Galadriel .

"Yes. But do you have any information on where Shana might be?" I said.

Unfortunately not. But I have information about her new characteristics: Shana , in this human form, has blue hair, and has also received healing powers she never had before. — he explained . Galadriel .

"There's not much information... but I'll try to find clues based on this," I said.

"Thank you for your help," Galadriel said.

I took a deep breath, preparing to answer, but a violent noise pierced the sound of the crystal: distant shouts, the sounds of something banging, hurried footsteps.

"Hey, Miss Galadriel ... what's going on?" I asked, confused.

The silence lasted for what felt like an eternity, until a trembling reply came:

— Filna is insisting she wants to go to where you are, but I'm telling her that's impossible because of the barrier. — he replied . Galadriel .

"I can get past the barrier! I can!" he shouted. FILNA .

My heart stopped for a moment.

My eyes widened.

"What...? How could you possibly get past the barrier?" I asked.

"The determining factor is that you returned to World One," he replied . Filna .

She frowned, annoyed.

I still don't understand.

" Elves are good at detecting energies they've already seen. So I can detect your energy and teleport to you. " Her voice didn't hesitate.

My body seethed with frustration.

"You must be crazy ! That's impossible! Elves specialized in detection skills are pure-blood elves ! You and I have hybrid blood, elven and human! And your teleportation wouldn't reach the distance from one kingdom to another!" I shouted .

Silence.

"I know how to do it... but there's a catch." When Filna spoke again, her voice was low, almost frail.

I swallowed hard.

"What's the problem?" I asked.

I already knew something horrible was coming.

"I guarantee I can do it, but you must stay where you are. I'll try to detect you. When I find you, I'll use all my elven energy on the TELEPORT ability and try to teleport to you. But the barrier will probably block it. So I thought of combining part of my life energy with all my elven energy to overcome the barrier. But I could die if I fail." explained Filna .

My heart sank.

From the other side, I heard Galadriel shout:

— FILNA, THIS IS MADNESS! — Galadriel seemed panicked.

The pain tightened in my chest.

"I lost my mother and father four years ago. And now I might lose my little sister..."

"Hey, Yumi ... you must be thinking that you've already lost our parents and now you might lose me. But I feel the same way. I'm afraid of losing you and not being able to say goodbye... " Filna breathed, trembling, her voice breaking with tears.

Tears started streaming down my face without me even realizing it.

"Then I beg you... let me try to cross the barrier!!! " he shouted. Filna .

I remained silent.

It was as if the world stopped for a moment.

"If I stop her... she'll never truly grow up."

I took a deep breath, my heart crushed.

— Filna … I trust you.

But I want to know if Galadriel authorizes this.

On the other side, I heard the sound of the crystal being passed from hand to hand.

Filna and I remained quiet, waiting for an answer.

If that's what you two have decided... then let's take the risk. - he said Galadriel , stand firm.

She gave a light, almost affectionate laugh.

"You two are incredibly stubborn. But it's that stubbornness that keeps you from giving up... and infects others with hope, " Galadriel said.

"Now, Filna ... go, " he ordered . Galadriel .

— You can count on it! Here I come!!! — My little sister's voice exploded with energy.

I closed my eyes tightly, pressing the crystal against my chest.

"I hope you succeed, my dear little sister."

The wind seemed to hold its breath along with mine.

Minutes passed like hours.

The field was too quiet.

Until, suddenly…

A flash ripped through the air.

The grass buckled from the impact.

And a small figure fell in front of me.

I ran and caught her before she hit the ground.

She was unconscious, her body as light as wet paper.

And then I saw.

Her hair.

It wasn't the dark green that matched mine anymore.

Now it was silvery gray, like snow under moonlight.

I pressed my hand against her chest.

Weak but steady breathing.

My whole body collapsed in relief.

"She did it..." I said, completely relieved.

The crystal sparkled.

"Did everything go well?" he asked. Galadriel .

I swallowed the lump in my throat.

"Yes... Filna crossed the barrier and is alive," I replied.

But... something about her changed.

"What happened? " Galadriel asked, sounding worried.

"Her hair color has changed. It's gray now," I revealed.

There was a brief silence.

— I understand. If she combined all her elven magic with life energy to cross the barrier, that may have altered her body. Be vigilant. There may be a risk of coma. She might not wake up for days. and explained Galadriel .

My heart ached.

— Understood… — I said.

I took a deep breath, preparing to continue speaking, but—

— IT WORKED!!! —

Filna 's voice exploded louder than thunder.

She sat up suddenly, throwing her arms up.

Galadriel and I almost screamed together.

— Filna ?! — I widened my eyes.

— WHAT?!!!! — Galadriel yelled in the background.

Filna smiled broadly, radiantly, as if nothing had happened.

"I did it, Yumi ! I really did it!!!" Filna said happily.

My body moved on its own.

I hugged her with all the strength I had. Tears streamed down my face uncontrollably.

"I missed you so much..." I said.

She chuckled softly, resting her forehead against mine.

"Me too. These four years without you have been difficult." She took a deep breath, her voice breaking.

Elven realm … I talk to Galadriel and Celebrian . I get along well with some elven women too. But… nothing replaces my older sister. — continued Filna .

I smiled, crying even harder.

Filna hugged me tightly.

And for a moment… the whole world seemed safe.
