Chapter 0:
The Mangaka With a Dark History
"Good Morning, myself," I said, waking up and stretching my arms. "Today is a beautiful early autumn morning, isn't it?"
I stood up from my bed and opened my curtains; the soft hue of amber was the setting that extended towards the horizon. My name is Takeru Akane, the last child in my family and a student of Kagayaki Prefectural High School. My sole ambition is to become a mangaka and a tourist. Usually, I join manga competitions, but I always come second or not close at all. It is not surprising since I am a beginner at this, but my manga actually got good reviews and is getting recognition alongside manga of those my age.

After getting ready, I head downstairs and see my mom making breakfast. She and I had black hair, but dyed it red somewhere close to the end of our hair. Another trait we had in common was our hazel eyes, but a major difference was the small yet noticeable mole under her lip at the right corner.
"Good morning, Akane."
"Mornin', Mom."
"You seem very energetic this fall, don't you?"
"Your imagination, Mom." I said, coming down the stairs.
"Na, Mom's right. You have accumulated a lot of energy recently."
My head suddenly felt a hand caressing it. That was my elder brother, Takeru Yu; he is 23 years old and a K-pop idol. His group is on a world tour currently; he says it is because they have a good company, and the promotion was not lacking in any form. He has black eyes and brown hair naturally, but he dyed it blue for the tour, and as far as I have counted, he has had at least eleven different hair colours in his life, but his eyes were still the same.
He decided to stop by our place yesterday with his six friends, or should I say his group members, to visit since the concert ended three days ago, and he wanted to meet up with me. He is one of the two songwriters and the third oldest in his group. The name of their group is Lumina, and their fanbase is Lighters. When he calls, he always talks about a new fan meeting or album and at times just random stuff they do.
"Brother, stop treating me like a kid!" I said suddenly, and pouting to show frustration, but he just laughed it off and directed me to the dining table like I was his girlfriend or something.
Not too long after we had breakfast and a little chat, I had to get to the bus or end up walking to school. It was not a long walk to the bus stop, and I even met some of my friends on the way there.

"I wish they could stay a bit more." fantasized a black-haired girl with black eyes, as she put both her hands on her chest.
"Yea. Seyeon, my bias, was a total beauty on the stage." continued a brown-haired girl with glasses and black eyes.
Those were two of my friends, Choji Eren and Megumareta Hinata; they are Lighters, the fan group of Lumina; they were at my brother's concert and are die-hard fans. Eren's bias is my brother, and Hinata's is Seyeon.
"I don't really get K-pop at all." Nishino Kaoru, a girl with natural-looking soft red hair and blue eyes, said.
"Kaoru, at least you get it. My brother always talks about some fan meeting or the other when he calls me."
"You are lucky, you know, and you don't even make use of it," said Hinata, putting her phone in her bag. "I mean, if Yu was my elder brother, I would take advantage of it to meet Seyeon-oppa."
"You guys really disgust me. These guys are many years older than you; take Seyeon and Hinata for example, he is 25 and she is 16, that is a nine-year difference, doesn't th-"
"I have seen some marriages where the year gap is ten, at times twelve." Eren cut me short.
"Any in the country you know?" I shot back.
"Umm...Uh, I don't know at hand, but I am sure there is." Eren replied.
"God help me, can you guys keep quiet? I am trying to study Math C." whispered in a moderate tone a light blonde-haired girl with a cowlick, sitting behind me, and surrounded by lots of books.
That's Blom Honoka, she is half Danish and Japanese, her dad is Danish, who moved to Japan five years before he met her mom. She has been to many parts of Europe and even to Canada, she knows how to speak Japanese, Danish, English and French, which everyone at school calls a major accomplishment.
"Sorry, Honoka." I said, turning back with an apologetic gesture.
"It's fine, we will be at school soon enough."
After the bus took a left turn, directly in front of us was Kagayaki Prefectural High School, my place for building up. As we entered, only one thing was on my mind for the first day of school this new term: "Good morning, Kagayaki, my foundation to life."
I came off the bus not knowing the plans for today.
