Chapter 28:

CHAPTER 28 -Ivan Arrives in the Upper World

The Human Who Challenged the Heavens

Light swallowed him whole.
It felt like being dragged upward by invisible chains, like the world itself was pulling him into a new reality. His ears rang. His vision blurred.
Then—
BOOM.
He slammed onto solid ground.
A cold wind cut across his skin.
Ivan groaned, pushing himself up with one arm. The world around him was a blur of color and sound until his vision finally sharpened.
What he saw made him freeze.
He was standing on the edge of a colossal cliff.
Before him stretched the Upper World—vast, bright, and impossibly alive.
Endless mountain ranges carved the horizon, peaks so tall they pierced the clouds. Floating islands drifted lazily in the sky, connected by radiant chains of light. Rivers flowed like silver threads, bending through lush forests that glowed with faint magical energy.
And above everything…
A second sun—smaller, pale blue—hung beside the real one, filling the sky with a surreal glow.
Ivan’s heart hammered.
He could feel it.
The air here was heavier—packed with mana so thick it almost hummed. His lungs burned with the intensity of it.
“This place…” he whispered.“…is on a different level.”
But before he could take a step—
RUMBLE.
The ground beneath him trembled.
Something was coming.
From behind a cluster of stone pillars, a massive beast emerged—a wolf with jet-black fur, its body wrapped in faint lightning. Its eyes glowed a cold yellow, sharp and hungry.
A Stormfang Wolf.
A creature far beyond anything in the lower world.
It growled, crouched, and leaped—
Ivan didn’t step back.
He raised his new silver blade.
The instant he gripped the hilt, the runes flickered awake.
The wolf lunged.
Ivan vanished.
In a flash of silver light, he reappeared behind the beast. The wolf landed, skidding violently, a deep cut across its side. It howled in pain.
Ivan stood still, blade resting at his side.
His eyes were calm.Sharp.Cold.
“No hesitation,” he whispered.“No fear.”
The wolf roared again, charging with crackling lightning.
Ivan’s aura erupted.
Silver wind exploded around him as he swung the sword in a single clean motion.
SLASH.
The beast’s body fell to the ground, defeated in seconds.
Ivan exhaled, his heartbeat steady.
“I’m not the same man anymore.”
He wiped the blade clean, sheathed it, and looked out over the endless world ahead.
Somewhere out there…
Elen was waiting.
The thought lit a fire in his chest.
His steps grew faster, confident, powerful.
Wind tore at his hair as he approached the first path leading down the cliffside.
