Chapter 13:

Reunion With My Boyfriend

Life: Elfsei Mayumi Yumi

We continued walking after leaving the dungeon .

The sky was already beginning to take on shades of orange and pink, heralding the end of the afternoon. The wind gently moved the leaves of the forest, making a low, steady sound, almost like a lullaby.

Filna walked beside me, looking around with childlike curiosity.

" Onee-sama ... this forest is so beautiful..." she commented, giving a slight smile.

I nodded, observing the enormous trees that rose up around me.

"Yes. It's peaceful. It could be a good place to rest," I said.

We continued for a few more minutes until we spotted something among the trees: an old wooden house, partially covered in moss and surrounded by wildflowers.

Filna's eyes widened.

— A house… here? — he said Surprise film .

I approached slowly, assessing the structure. The windows were covered in dust, the roof was slightly crooked, but still secure.

"Are we going to live here?" I said , almost without realizing the words had slipped out.

Filna smiled broadly.

— Perfect! The atmosphere reminds me a bit of the Elven Kingdom ! — he said Happy movie .

I touched the doorknob.

Cold.

Rusty.

But not locked.

I pushed slowly. The door creaked like a muffled scream.

"Let's go in. But be careful. We don't know what's inside. " I took a deep breath.

We explored every room.

Accumulated dust, old furniture, cobwebs... but nothing dangerous.

No monsters.

No traps.

I sighed in relief.

"It looks like it's just an abandoned house," I said.

Filna clasped her hands together, excited.

"So, can we live here, Onee-sama ?" Filna asked.

I crossed my arms, analyzing the space.

"We can, but first we need to clean all this up. Buy a broom, buckets, soap, and some basic supplies," I replied.

"I understand. But do you have enough money for all of this?" Filna asked.

I agreed.

" Kaiou gave everyone plenty of coins, plus we collected coins from the monsters in the dungeon ," I explained.

I picked up the map and unfolded it on the old living room table.

"Are you looking at the town closest to the forest, Onee-sama ?" Filna asked.

— Yes. I plan to leave soon. Do you want to come with me? — I said.

"Of course I want to!" she replied.

I slid my finger across the map.

"There's a town nearby called Lilibel . If we leave this afternoon, we'll get there before sunset. We'll buy what we need and come back at night to do the cleaning," I said.

Filna smiled and raised her fist.

— Perfect! Let's go! — he said Filna .

We walked for almost half an hour to Lilibel .

It was a small town with low houses and simple shops, but with a welcoming atmosphere.

Children ran around the square, and the smell of freshly baked bread filled the air.

We bought everything we needed: brooms, buckets, brushes, handmade soap, some clean fabrics, and even new candles.

We returned through the forest with our arms laden with bags.

Night had already fallen when we arrived home.

And we started cleaning.

Hours passed amidst dust, laughter, and silly falls.

"Finally, we cleaned all this up..." I sighed, collapsing to the floor, sweaty and exhausted.

Filna fell down beside me, laughing.

"Now let's relax, Onee-sama ... please..." Filna said wearily.

We bathed in a large bucket heated by simple magic.

Then we had bread, soup and fruit for dinner.

And finally we fell onto the makeshift bed, side by side.

The candles swayed, casting soft shadows on the ceiling.

I closed my eyes slowly.

“That day back in World One… and my first time in the Human Realm… was so exhausting. But also… it was the first day I felt true peace in four years.”

And I fell asleep before finishing the thought.

I woke up to the soft light streaming through the window. The smell of damp wood filled the freshly cleaned room.

I stretched my body and looked to the side.

Filna was already waking up, rubbing her eyes with her fist like a sleepy child.

"Good morning, little sister," I whispered, smiling.

"Good morning, big sister," she replied with a bright smile.

I sat on the bed and took a deep breath.

"How about we go back to that dungeon today ?" I asked excitedly.

Filna nodded without hesitation.

"That's right. We need to raise our levels," he replied . FILNA .

We put on our simple, comfortable clothes, packing our bags with water and basic medicines.

We went down to the kitchen, had breakfast, and then set off following the trail to the dungeon entrance .

The cave was colder than yesterday, and the echo of our boots seemed louder than usual.

— Come on, Filna — I said firmly.

We went in.

Smaller creatures appeared along the way: dark slimes and tiny mana wolves.

Nothing we couldn't handle.

I created three clones, which attacked in a synchronized manner, while Filna It teleported heavy rocks onto the monsters to crush them.

With each victory, bursts of mana rose through our bodies.

An invisible screen appeared before my eyes:

LEVEL: 13

Filna smiled proudly.

" Onee-sama , I'm at level 9 now!" she said. Animated film .

"Good job. Let's continue a little longer," I said, pleased with her.

But the further we walked, the stronger the smell of danger became.

The monsters grew larger, and their presence heavier.

"It's best not to move forward too much... the risk is starting to become real."

Then we heard footsteps and voices echoing down the hallway.

" Onee-sama ... someone is coming!" Filna whispered.

I quickly pulled her behind a stone pedestal.

I held my breath.

The voices became clearer.

"If you keep going like this, you'll never catch me," the arrogant and irritating voice echoed through the cave.

Takeshi Hiroshi.

Behind him, several students armed with conjured weapons.

And among them, walking in silence…

Shouta .

My heart ached.

"So he's really with Hiroshi... to keep an eye on him."

Filna 's ear .

— Filna … use TELEPORT and escape alone. — I ordered.

Her eyes widened in despair.

"What…?! Onee-sama , I'm not leaving you here!" she said. Finna is worried.

I kept my gaze steady.

"Trust me. Just do what I'm telling you," I replied.

He hesitated for a moment, took a deep breath, and nodded.

A small flash of light shone behind the pedestal, and Filna disappeared.

Instantly, everyone in Hiroshi's group looked in the direction of the light.

"Hey, Shouta , go see what's behind that pedestal," Hiroshi growled .

Shouta walked over to me.

Our eyes met in the silence.

He froze, looking straight at me, and I made a quick gesture for silence, bringing my finger to my lips.

He took a deep breath, controlling his emotions, and went back to Hiroshi.

"So?" Hiroshi asked impatiently.

"There was nothing behind it. It was probably some kind of teleportation . The user escaped," Shouta replied without his voice trembling.

My shoulders relaxed slowly.

"Thank you, Shouta ... you were perfect."

Hiroshi snorted.

"Damn it. Keep walking!" said Hiroshi.

The group disappeared into the darkness.

When the last footstep echoed in the distance, I let the air escape from my lungs.

Getting up slowly, I spoke to myself:

"Time to get out of here."

And I walked out of the dungeon .

The cold night air hit my face as soon as I stepped out of the dungeon . The forest was silent, illuminated only by the pale moon filtering through the twisted branches. I took a deep breath, trying to calm my still-racing heart.

— Shouta … — I murmured softly, looking back at the darkness of the entrance.

It didn't take two minutes before hurried footsteps emerged from behind me.

turned my body , ready to attack, until I recognized the sound of that breathing.

" Yumi , thank God you're still here," he called out, breathless.

His face appeared between the trees, illuminated by the moon. My chest tightened with relief.

" Shouta ... have you gone mad? What if Hiroshi notices?" I asked.

He smiled slightly, with a dangerous confidence in his eyes.

"I told Hiroshi I saw footprints going north and that I was going to follow the trail. He told the group to continue without me, saying he was going to compete with me to see who found the 'enemy' first," he said ironically.

I frowned.

"But what if he realizes you haven't come back...?" I asked, worried.

Shouta moved closer until he was just inches away.

"I'm smooth enough to charm that idiot into a whole night," she whispered with a teasing smile.

My face immediately turned hot.

— An entire… night? — I repeated , trying to keep my voice steady.

He nodded.

"Let's go to Lilibel . The tavern owner owes me a favor. I managed to get a room just for the two of us," he said softly.

My face burned. I looked away, biting my lower lip.

"How do you expect me to just go without thinking...?" I asked.

He held my hand carefully—warm and firm.

"Because I know you're tired. You're carrying too much on your own. Just for today... let me be your rest," he said softly.

My heart almost stopped.

I remained silent for a few seconds, feeling my defenses crumble one by one.

"That's right," I replied in a small voice.

The smile that appeared on his face... shone brighter than the moon.

"Then come. No rush. Let's go like a normal couple, just for a moment," he said, gently pulling my hand.

And we began to walk along the dark path towards Lilibel , hands intertwined, our steps synchronized.

Not a word was spoken.

It wasn't necessary.

The moon appeared brighter.

The world, lighter.

And for the first time since I arrived in World One…

I felt peace.

— Shouta … — I called softly.

"Hm?" he replied, without stopping walking.

— Thank you. For always believing in me. — I said , with a shy smile.

He shook my hand back.

"Always, Yumi ," he replied.

I continued walking beside him, feeling my chest grow warm.

And on that silent night… I forgot, just for a few minutes, about the chaos that awaited us.

For a few minutes… we were just two young lovers walking under the moon.

Nothing more .
