Chapter 173:
The Lifeless Supermoon: A Fateful Encounter
From a distance,
I saw her.
Was I dreaming? I reckon not. She was really there, tears rolling down her eyes. But… I don’t mind. Her tears, unlike the times before, didn’t contain sadness. In fact, she was beaming from ear to ear.
I instantly sobered up. My vision went clear. At this moment, I didn’t know if it was because of her or something else. But I didn’t seem to care, at all.
She was there, what more could I ask of?
Seeing me, she quickened her pace. I quickened mine too.
Steps. A few more steps, and this all would be over, wouldn’t it?
Yes. It will. I want to tell her, but I don’t know her answer. All I want is all to be over.
For some odd reason, my eyes watered up as well.
Her orange hair gleamed under the moonlit sky. Translucent enough to see the reflection of the stars that looked down on the horizon. This time, her eyes were full of life, full of a hopeful future.
“Even in a casual dress, she looks stunning, doesn’t she?” I mumbled to myself. Before I knew it, I was smiling as much as her.
Just close to a year ago, I didn’t even know her. Now, she has changed my life. My life before felt empty, lifeless. Until the day she came by. At first, I thought it was just another encounter with a stranger and one of the few good deeds I did in my life. But how would I know life had fated us to be more than strangers?
My void-like life was filled with a giant moon, and with it came the stars and all the things that a night beautiful.
A beautiful canvas of everything I love.
The best picture that I can’t capture but it’s engraved in my heart.
I ran faster than I could. To be honest, I wanted to scream from here, without wasting another moment. But that wouldn’t work well, right?
She was just there now, coming closer and closer.
Until our distances became non existent…
