The Assassin's Code
CHAPTER 7 V1
Tadashi’s speed was inhuman. He moved with a velocity he’d never displayed on the school’s athletic field, a blur of motion that defied explanation. Was he a special rank? The thought was absurd. He’s too dumb to be something special.
Suddenly, the lights flickered and died, plunging the school into darkness. Tadashi stopped running.
"Ooo... Spooky." He said with a chuckle.
The emergency lighting kicked in, casting the hallway in a harsh, pulsating red glow. The school, designed for security in this dangerous world, was going into lockdown. The steel shutters slammed down over the windows, transforming the corridors into claustrophobic tunnels. The red light amplified the already unsettling atmosphere, painting the scene in a frightening, almost surreal hue.
"That's a bit overkill don't you think?" Tadashi says to himself then sprints again.
Tadashi reaches the main entrance of the school but there are many soldiers there. He could definitely take them all on. But with Yumei? Probably not. He rolls is eyes and runs back where they came.
"Where are you going? That's our exit." Yumei says while looking over his shoulder at the doors.
"You aren't looking at the bigger picture sweetheart." He says, looking down at her for a second.
They reach the emergency exit but it's also blocked by many men. Tadashi crinkles his nose.
"How annoying." He mumbles then he runs back. He puts Yumei down then tries to open the steel shutter over the window. Tadashi grunts as he tries to lift it then he takes a step back with a huff.
'I could probably punch a hole through it but I don't want to bruise my hands..." Tadashi thinks in his head.
He hears many footsteps coming from left and right.
"Crap." Tadashi grits his teeth.
The corridor is in a 'T' shape. There was only one way to go. Up the stairs.
Tadashi picks Yumei up again then sprints up the stairs. Once Tadashi reaches the second floor, he is about to run down the hallway but there are four men with big guns so he skids to a stop.
The men see him and yell out then open fire on him. Tadashi doges barely then runs up the stairs again to get to the roof.
'The roof?! What's he thinking??' Yumei says in her head.
Tadashi bursts out of the door and onto the roof. Thankfully nobody was there, but he could hear those men stomping up the stairs. Tadashi looks over the edge of the building. It was a long way down.
