Chapter 18:

The Hidden Hero Returns - Rise of Hero Kemp

The Master of Heroes

The world shook.

The Demon King’s giant leg remained outside the portal, burning with black flames that cracked the earth. A horrible pressure pushed down on everyone, making it hard to breathe. Even the bravest heroes felt their knees weaken.

But in the middle of this fear…

one man’s heart was burning brighter than ever.

Buddhist.

He stood behind the group of heroes, his breath heavy, sweat rolling down his forehead, and his body still injured. Nobody noticed him at first. Everyone was watching the Demon King.

But Buddhist’s eyes—

they were looking at something else.

He was looking at his friends.

Sumit.
Ayon.
Jirsong.
Serdihun 1 and 2.
Alir.
Ram Sir.
Ajmal Sir.

And the people who were crying for help.

Buddhist’s fists tightened.

Buddhist (thinking):
“I can’t let them die…
Not again.
Not today.”

Deep inside him, something old and powerful began to awaken.

Something he had kept hidden for years.

Something nobody in the world knew about.

Something called…

HERO KEMP.

The Demon King’s Pressure Grows

The Demon King’s low growl echoed across the sky.

Demon King:
“THIS WORLD…
WILL BURN.”

The portal expanded again—
the second giant leg appeared.

A huge shockwave blasted outward.

Cracks ripped across the ground like lightning.

Jirsong was almost knocked down, but Sumit grabbed him.

Sumit:
“Hold steady! Don’t fall!”

Ayon gritted his teeth.

Ayon:
“His presence… it feels like mountains crushing my chest.”

Alir struggled to breathe.

Alir:
“Ajmal Sir… how do we fight something like this?”

Ajmal didn’t answer.

He couldn’t.

Because even he was feeling it.

Ram Sir noticed Ajmal’s trembling hand.

Ram Sir:
“Ajmal… even you?”

Ajmal nodded slowly, eyes sharp.

Ajmal:
“This is the true power of the Demon King.
If he fully steps onto Earth…
we may not survive.”

Fear spread again.

But among all the heroes…

Buddhist was the only one who didn’t step back.

He stepped forward.

Buddhist’s Memories — Why He Hides

As the wind roared, Buddhist closed his eyes.

Memories flashed.

A ruined battlefield.

Monsters everywhere.

A younger Buddhist standing alone, covered in blood.

And a glowing golden armor around him—
the armor of Hero Kemp.

The world once knew Hero Kemp.

A legendary figure.

A savior during a past invasion.

But after that battle…
he disappeared.

Everyone believed Hero Kemp died.

But the truth was different.

Buddhist survived.

He hid his identity.

He lived as a normal person.

Because being Hero Kemp meant:

Always fighting.
Always sacrificing.
Always being hunted.

Buddhist wanted a normal life.

Friends.
Peace.
Laughter.

But now…

peace was gone.

And his friends were about to die.

Buddhist opened his eyes.

Buddhist (whispering):
“I didn’t want to use this power again…
But I must.”

Ajmal Prepares the Heroes

Ajmal raised his staff.

Ajmal:
“All heroes!
Stand ready!
Form a defensive circle!”

Blue barriers formed around the group.

The heroes took their positions.

Ayon, his body glowing with lightning.

Sumit, fists burning with inner fire.

Jirsong, electricity crackling around him.

Serdihun 1 and 2, ready with their support magic.

Ram Sir formed defensive seals.

Alir aimed her arrows at the portal.

Everyone was ready—

except Buddhist wasn’t beside them.

Sumit looked around.

Sumit:
“Huh? Where is Buddhist?!”

Ayon:
“He was here just a second ago!”

Ram Sir frowned.

Ram Sir:
“That fool… did he fall unconscious somewhere again?”

Ajmal shook his head.

Ajmal:
“No. I can still sense him.
He’s… changing.”

A Hidden Corner — Buddhist Begins His Transformation

Buddhist stood alone behind a collapsed building.

He clenched his fists.

Light started glowing around him.

Golden sparks rose from the ground.

His injured body began to heal slowly.

Buddhist whispered words nobody else could hear—

The ancient oath of Hero Kemp.

Buddhist:
“FOR THE PEACE OF THE WORLD…
FOR THE SAFETY OF THE PEOPLE…
FOR THE FRIENDS WHO BELIEVE IN ME…

I AWAKEN…”

The ground beneath him cracked.

A bright golden circle appeared under his feet.

Wind exploded outward.

And then—

Buddhist’s voice turned deeper.

Buddhist:
“HERO
KEMP
— AWAKENS.”

A massive flash of golden light shot into the sky.

Heroes Feel the Shockwave

Back at Ajmal’s group—

The wind suddenly shifted.

A wave of golden energy swept across the battlefield.

Serdihun 2 gasped.

Serdihun 2:
“What was that?!”

Jirsong looked around wildly.

Jirsong:
“It feels like someone extremely powerful woke up!”

Ayon clenched his fists.

Ayon:
“I know this energy… but from where?”

Sumit narrowed his eyes.

Sumit:
“Someone is hiding their presence…”

Ajmal’s eyes widened.

Ajmal:
“This energy…
This aura…
Impossible.”

Ram Sir:
“What is it, Ajmal?”

Ajmal:
“I recognize this power.
It belongs to a legendary hero…
but he vanished long ago.”

The sky flashed gold again.

Hero Kemp Appears

The golden light burst from behind the ruined building.

A tall figure slowly walked out through the smoke.

Clad in glowing golden armor.
A long scarf flowing behind him.
Eyes shining like burning stars.
Power radiating like a rising sun.

Every demon froze in fear.

Every human felt hope returning.

Ajmal stepped forward, stunned.

Ajmal:
“…Hero Kemp.”

The other heroes shook with disbelief.

Ayon:
“That’s… him? The legendary hero?!”

Jirsong:
“Hero Kemp… he came to help us?!”

Sumit clenched his fist.

Sumit:
“Whoever he is…
he’s on our side.”

Serdihun 1 and 2 stared with wide eyes.

Serdihun 1:
“He’s so powerful…”

Serdihun 2:
“And so cool…”

But none of them knew…

Inside that shining armor…

was Buddhist.

Their friend.

The one they thought was still injured.

The one who always supported them quietly.

The one who would sacrifice anything to protect them.

Hero Kemp took a single step forward.

The ground glowed gold beneath his foot.

He raised his hand.

A massive golden spear appeared, burning like a miniature sun.

Kemp (voice echoing):
“This world will not fall.
Not while I stand.”

The Demon King Reacts

Inside the portal, the Demon King paused mid-step.

His giant horns crackled with dark lightning.

His monstrous voice rumbled:

Demon King:
“YOU AGAIN, GOLDEN WARRIOR.”

Everyone froze.

Ayon:
“Again?!
They’ve fought before?”

Ajmal tightened his grip.

Ajmal:
“That confirms it…
Hero Kemp and the Demon King have history.”

Kemp (cold voice):
“I defeated your army before.
I will do it again.”

The Demon King roared with rage.

Demon King:
“THEN DIE, HERO KEMP!”

Black lightning shot toward the ground—

but Hero Kemp swung his spear.

A golden shockwave split the attack in half.

The explosion lit up the entire city.

Heroes Regain Hope

Sumit stared in awe.

Sumit:
“His power… it’s unbelievable.”

Ayon smirked, electricity dancing on his arms.

Ayon:
“If he’s fighting…
then we definitely have a chance!”

Jirsong:
“I feel powered up just by watching him!”

Alir:
“He’s giving us hope!”

Ajmal nodded slowly.

Ajmal:
“With Hero Kemp on our side…
we might survive this.”

But inside Hero Kemp’s armor—

Buddhist smiled softly.

Buddhist (thinking):
“Don’t worry, everyone.
You don’t need to know it’s me.
As long as I can protect you…
that’s enough.”

Hero Kemp vs Demon King — The First Clash

The Demon King raised his giant arm.

Kemp raised his glowing spear.

The air froze.

The ground cracked.

The sky shook.

Then—

BOOOOM!!!

Their powers collided.

Light exploded across the battlefield.

Heroes covered their eyes.

Demons were blown away like insects.

Buildings collapsed under the shockwave.

The earth trembled like a living creature.

This wasn’t a normal fight.

This was a clash of legends.

Ajmal Gives the Order

Ajmal lifted his staff.

Ajmal:
“All heroes!
Move out!
Support Hero Kemp!”

The heroes spread out.

Ayon launched forward with lightning.

Sumit ignited his fists.

Jirsong charged with electric speed.

Serdihun sisters prepared healing and support magic.

Ram Sir activated defensive seals.

Alir climbed a rooftop to snipe demons.

The battlefield was alive again.

The heroes were no longer afraid.

Because a hidden hero had returned.

Because Buddhist, now Hero Kemp, had given them hope.

Hero Kemp pushed against the Demon King’s burning aura.

His golden spear shone brighter.

Kemp:
“This world…
my friends…
I will protect everything.”

The Demon King growled.

Demon King:
“TRY, HUMAN.
TRY AND FAIL.”

The sky flashed.

Their weapons clashed again.

And the greatest battle in history truly began.
