Chapter 35:

Prologue

The Edge of Balance

Jiyoda gazed down at the clouds below. He was in the Great Above along with some of the people he had revived. Lady Amari was at his side and the new Anti-magic poet general was at his right.

“Say… Haveniririon, remember all those years ago when I was your ally?” asked Jiyoda. Jiyoda turned his head back to look at Haveniririon. He was bound on the floor with Arcane Cuffs.

“Yes, I was a fool to think the Usurper of the Gods could be an ally,” said Haveniririon.

“Ah yes, that old prophecy, wonderful thing really,” said Jiyoda. “Parden my Malren, ‘Oon zu nu nu karnamana mus zagaza neiralla cavanrobus mus Akathooritha langri oovess jangara for mus Akathooritha tok sevoo’.”

Haveniririon winced at those words. He always hated the prophecy and wished that people would forget the old stories of the Aternum's fall.

“Or in english, In seven hundred years the true enemy of the Aternum will rise just for the Aternum to fall.”

“I thought that you would have risen above your title and done something to aid us… I was wrong, dead wrong,” said Haveniririon.

“Of course you know the title comes with more than just a status,” said Jiyoda, bending down to be at Haveniririon’s level.

“Of course I know what it comes with. It gives you the power to defeat the Aternum. It makes you the only being with that power, but it weakens your power to non-Aternamites,” said Haveniririon. “I know your weakness.”

Lady Amari walked over and kicked him in the face. “Don’t disrespect Lord Jiyoda. Don’t forget, we have the Anti-magic poets now.”

“Yes, yes, I know you have my army, pish posh,” replied Haveniririon. Haveniririon didn’t seem all too surprised that Jiyoda was winning.

“You don’t seem to be so surprised about your loss. Well that will change soon. I have plans to destroy your last hope,” said Jiyoda.

“And that is?” inquired Haveniririon.

“The Dragon. Thalorian Hibbaku.”

“I guess you never did see the end of that prophecy…” muttered Haveniririon

Jiyoda grabbed Haveniririon by the neck and raised him into the air, “What is the end?” he asked, menacingly.

“Mus Drarlan langri pavalan mus neiralla cavanrobus mus Akathooritha,” said Haveniririon, “or in english, the Dragon will destroy the enemy of the Aternum.”

“Silly god… The Dragon can barely hold his family together, what makes you think he can stop the Usurper?” Jiyoda stared out the window again. He was satisfied with his threats. He thought he would be the victor. He thought he was god. He was not.
