If only the sky didn't interrupted

The time I woke up I felt pretty refreshed.

Absent mind like I usually am in the morning. The body is doing its daily routine without me trying to move it.

By 6:45 am it suddenly struck me that I have to go on a date…….no not a ‘date’...a…. to help Uragao-san in study.

The talk from yesterday also made my mind mess now that I remembered it.

Lemon was already awake by that time, and was in the bath.

Distracting myself I emerged in making breakfast.

Dad was still sleeping. He gets up late when it's Sunday. Me and lemon were having breakfast.

“Nii-san you remember you have a date today right?”

I didn't respond, just gave her a look while taking the rice in my mouth.

“Okay okay. But you do remember I am going to pick your clothes right?.”

“I remember.”

After finishing breakfast and washing the dishes we went to my room. Lemon looked at the clothes I had for like 5 minutes.

Does it really matter that much? It's not like she will kill me if I don't wear something which makes me look handsome.

After finalizing the clothes I changed. Grabbed the bag with notebooks and headed downstairs.

While I was wearing the shoes Lemon said,

“Now, Rizz her up nii-san.”

“Yeah yeah. Putting that aside, don't forget to bring back Shigeo.”

“I will not, bye~”

8:30 am I entered the z library.

Me and my behavior, I like being early. It also helps me calm down my nerves.

But to my surprise, I was not early.

Uragao-san was there earlier than me. Focused on the books on the table. Pen scratching the temple.

“U-Uragao-san?” I called out.

I startled her “Huh!” After confirming it was me, she said “oh, it's already time? I didn't notice”

Putting my bag on one seat and sitting on the other, I sat in front of her “No, I came early.”

“How nice of you not to make a lady wait.”

“No no, you still beat me. Why are you here this early,Uragao-san?”

“Because I was the one who invited you. Can't be late, right? Now let's get to studying. The sooner we start the sooner we finish.”

“Yeah….”

Our minds were engrossed in study. The time passed by. At some point she sat beside me because it was hard to teach something across the table.

At 12:00 we stopped. Everything we had problems with plus some extra material was covered by us.

Stretching her hands she said “Finally~~” turning back to me her eyes invited me “Now shall we go?”

Without questioning I just followed her. After taking a train and walking some distance we reached an amusement park. We were standing in front of entrance when I asked,

“Eto…Uragao-san, are we going in here?”

Pulling out two tickets in front of my face she said “Yes, we are!” After giving the tickets and getting the map we entered, she continued “My mom's friend gave her these tickets. First I was going to bring… my sister but she had some work to do so I couldn't.”

Opening the park map she asked with her eyes brimming with excitement “So from where should we start?”

A quick glance at the map and she said “Ohh…I found the best start. Are you ready?”

I should have asked which ride it was because after riding it I unlocked a new fear.

We went for THE FREE FALL. And God I never want to be separated from the ground again.

After that we had a ride on a roller coaster. I could handle it, I had fun on it.

While walking around we sighted a haunted house so we went in.

It wasn't scary at all……atleast for me. While Uragao-san’s heart was beating loudly because of fear, mine was beating even more loudly because she was walking too close to me.

We both became hungry after a few more rides. There was a food court on the map, so we walked there. Had our lunch. Chatted a little and went back to enjoying the rides.

Around the evening our last stop was the ferris wheel. The sun was almost about to hide its presence. We went inside the cabin. Sitting face to face.

It moved slowly.The view was beautiful.

“I had a lot of fun today.” Looking outside she said.

“What about you?” her attention moved to me.

“I-....I too had fun.” Admiring the view outside I continued “Probably the most I had in years.”

Tilting her head slightly she smiles.

“But…….. it's coming to an end now” My eyes dimmed as I said it.

She stood up.Walked and sat beside me. Her sweet voice whispers in my ears,

“Dont worry there's still something left.”

“Huh?”

The wheel stopped.We were at the top.The sun was down by that time. Clouds covering the sky. Dark for eyes to even guess one thing correct in the park from up there.

“Wha-”

A wave of light ran through the whole park and lastly the ferris wheel lit up.

My eyes were captivated by that scene. I was staring out of the window looking for every corner my eyes could catch. So absorbed that I didn't even notice Uragao-san peaking outside from over my shoulders.

“It's bright and colourful isn't it?”

“Yeah, it is.” When her hair brushed against my face I noticed her over my shoulder.

My eyes glanced at her face unintentionally.

I forced myself to look back outside.

We were back on the ground.

“Ura-”

“Now let's head for dinner.” What I was about to ask was answered.

Uragao-san had made a reservation at a restaurant in the park. Don't know if it was the restaurant’s chef's magic or something else, Everything I ordered tasted like the most delicious thing in the world.

After coming out of the restaurant without wasting any second she said “Now let's go for the final walk.” And guided me.

A long bridge connecting two parts of the park, poles lightning the way, underneath it different fishes swimming in the water. Not crowded, only a few couples in the distance.

My footsteps followed her as she walked in front. Hands clasped behind the back, Her eyes kept looking with a faint smile.

“Beautiful way to end the day right?” she asked, still walking ahead.

“Right.” Walking with the wind, I continued “Thanks for inviting me, Uragao-san... Throughout the day I figure out how fun it is to be with someone and how it changes even the normal things.”

“I am glad to hear that and also glad that i invited you” She twirls around.Leans a little forward. Her seductive piercing gaze darted a look at my face. With the most adorable smile she could give her lips said “ I also got to see a gentleman side of you…..You kept matching pace with my steps, helping me step in or out of a ride, paying for the food without letting me know, i can keep going you know. There are many things I found out about you today.”

“Huh?”

She walked closer.Her hair fluttered from the wind. A mischievous smile twitched and she spilled the words,

“So now that it's ending, how was the date for you?

The time stopped for me, not really but somehow it lasted longer. Such as the flow of time slowed.I could see her hairs slowly swaying back to their places.

“... H-How can I not enjoy it when… I have such a beautiful companion.” She couldn't hide the fleeting blush.

Leaning a little closer, she gave me a blushing smile and in the most liveliest tone she said while poking my chest,

“You also look handsome today.I am honoured to have such a kind, considerate and sweet talker friend.” and laughed.

I don’t know what took over me. I couldn't hear anything.

All I was focusing on was her laugh. It was a weirdly silent world for me.

My heart wasn't beating loud, the same old rhythmic beat echoed through my bones.

I wasn't blushing.

My mouth didn't want to respond to it anyway.

But… But the arms wanted to do something.

The arms wanted to warp themselves around her and never let go of that moment.

And what stopped me from doing it was the violent sky.

Some drops of rain fell on us.

Both of us didn't want to get drenched so rushed over to a shelter.

It rained for a few seconds like it was just there to tease or give a warning.

We decided to go home, keeping in mind that the trains could stop sometimes in rain.

One more strange thing happened with me around the park where I hugged the onee-san. It felt like I cut ties to this world and entered a new one. But after a few minutes the strange feelings and atmosphere disappeared.
