Chapter 28:
Wadakoi - A Ridiculous Love That Will Kill Me Someday
The first thing that Akio saw was not an unfamiliar ceiling, but the gaze of Yuunagi staring right at him. He let out a scream of surprise, but it was promptly cut off by a hand gripping his throat.
“Hey, now. Don’t struggle.”
“What are you?! Yuunagi?!”
“I said calm down already! I was making sure that you didn’t just flat out die on me or something.”
“Wait, dead?” Akio tried to sit up and instantly regretted it. His memories came rushing back to him. The howling madness of Misaki’s punch coming for his life had appeared to rip his reality in half. He should have died from it, but he looked around to see a hospital room.
“I guess I did survive somehow. The fact that you’re here instead of Misaki tells me that I’m in neither heaven nor hell.”
He yelped as Yuunagi jabbed a pressure point that hurt like hell.
“What is that supposed to mean? How rude when I was nice enough to come visit you.”
“Sorry, sorry! I beg your forgiveness! Wait, what were you doing to me before?”
He got his answer when Yuunagi jabbed him in several spots along his front.
“You should be able to sit now. I dulled the pain receptors. Ancient Chinese techniques can work magic sometimes.”
To his surprise, the shooting pain from before didn’t erupt when he moved again. He sat up and exhaled deeply. He shot Yuunagi a look of approval.
“So, what the hell happened to me? Did Misaki end up holding back after all?”
Yuunagi shook her head.
“Wait, does that mean I took a full force hit from Misaki Haibara and wasn’t pulverized into primordial ooze?!”
She chuckled at his outburst, chopping him on the head.
“You were lucky.”
“Eh? How so?”
“Haibara-san is very skilled at combat, even more so than I believed before. The moment of impact, the punch’s force spread out, rather than concentrated in a single spot. As such, it shot through your body like a shockwave, letting it distribute more evenly.”
“Hmm, I vaguely remember such a feeling. Though, it was more like my bones were shattering from inside out.”
“A strong enough oscillating force can give off that impression. It feels like your body is torn to shreds when it’s more like a phantom passing through.”
“A phantom, huh. Certainly felt real to me.”
“That’s why I said you were lucky.”
Yuunagi punched him in the stomach suddenly, surprising him. He couldn’t even react before a small shockwave passed through his body, giving him the shivers. Whatever pain he thought he felt soon subsided.
“Now, tense up and resist me, Wada-kun.”
“Wait, why?!”
“Clench your teeth, too!”
The next punch felt like dynamite had exploded inside his gut. His eyes bugged out and he fell back onto the bed, his mouth foaming. Yuunagi quickly jabbed a few spots on him, making the agony lessen.
“That, is for being a complete idiot. If you hadn’t given yourself completely to Haibara-san. If you had resisted her attack, thinking that you had to protect yourself from her, you would have died for sure.”
While Akio continued to nurse his sore stomach, Yuunagi continued her explanation. Misaki’s strength didn’t just come from raw power. She had been well trained in martial arts. In particular, the strike that Yuunagi imitated from her came from a form of Chinese kenpo.
It was an attack designed to bypass through people and objects, attacking a hiding target, very useful for those who had hostages. A powerful wave bypassed the innocent, going right to the attacker next. Given that a fighter would subconsciously guard, the wave would be interrupted by the tensing of muscles. The impact of the crashing wave grew the more someone defended it, a nasty technique for the unsuspecting.
“Of course, even with a slack body, a residual amount can still hurt, especially coming from someone as strong as Haibara-san. I could do nothing but pray for the best.”
Akio started to laugh like a madman.
Only because he had been so willing to embrace death, had he been blessed with it as a phantom. The cold scythe only took those that didn’t want it. How ironic was that?
“Thanks, Yuunagi.”
“What for?”
“For looking out for me. For explaining things when I’m dumb. And for keeping the crowds in check while all of us did our thing.”
“I-I didn’t do it for you! What kind of disciplinary member would I be if I just let our students march right into danger and come back injured?!”
“I thought outside of school wasn’t your jurisdiction?”
Yuunagi turned away from the hospital bed. She walked a few steps away before muttering “Idiot” softly. Akio continued to look at her, aloof. She felt it was better for him to stay like that.
“Anyways, get some rest. Your body needs it from getting tenderized.”
The door slid open and then shut. It didn’t take long for the quiet to bring Akio back to a snore.
v
“Wakey, wakey. It’s time for the nurse to check your vitals.”
The snap of a latex glove echoed. Akio peeked open an eye to see Misaki in a nurse outfit. His attention was immediately claimed.
“Tell me, Nurse Misaki. How much blood is it going to cost me this time?”
Misaki coquettishly snaked her gloved hand under the bed sheet and gripped something that made Akio freeze.
“How about enough for your full attention?”
Misaki climbed onto the side of the bed, draping her body over him. She reached over and planted a kiss down the side of his neck before giving it a lick.
“And what does your father think of you doing this?”
Misaki paused at his question, looking into his eyes with a smile.
“You won the bet.”
“Did I now? I thought the winning condition was to become the king of Yokohama’s streets, not end up in hospice care from the Misaki bug.”
Thighs straddled Akio on either side, Misaki mounting his torso like she wanted it bad. Akio couldn’t help but admire the view.
“You are the king. Because I’m the queen and decided to claim you for the role. With all the players watching, you were the sole person brave enough to accept everything I gave. And you stayed standing after it. I wanted to ride you right there, but then you collapsed into my lap. How much clearer can it be?”
“Yuunagi came by.”
Misaki’s nose wrinkled.
“She said that you did some funky kung fu punch to make it so I’d survive.”
“I don’t remember. I was too excited that I wanted to shove it all in.”
“You know, that’s supposed to be my job.”
“Oh really?”
Misaki hopped forward, her thighs now on either side of his face. Akio’s eyes bulged as her skirt rode up further.
“Now, what are you going to do? I have you in a kabedon,” she teased with a wide grin.
“What do you mean kabedon? Your thighs may be thiccer than any wall can match, but that aside, I’m also lying down.”
Her face lit up for a moment with an idea. “Then, ‘your favorite’. A thigh-bedon.”
Misaki broke into a full belly laugh as Akio’s face went red at her jab registering. She nearly toppled over and right off the bed, but Akio grabbed her by the arm. He tugged her so hard that she fell right back on top of him. Her long hair tickled his face. A toned body rubbed right up against him, an oasis of softness bouncing against his chest.
He reached down and stroked the back of her thighs, so powerful yet fulfilling to trace.
Misaki’s arms snaked up and grabbed the sides of his face. She dove in to take his lips. He fought back, trying to take hers instead. After several minutes, Misaki pulled back. Akio grinned up at her.
“I have the stronger tongue. It’s a win for me.”
“Oh?” Misaki laughed. “Then, maybe… it’s best that I get a bit of training in. A Haibara cannot be outdone.”
She backed up to the foot of the bed, taking the blanket with her. Then, her hands slid under the hem of his hospital gown, tracing up his thighs. She made a licking motion with her lips.
Akio did not need to ask what she had in mind.
BANG!!!
The door slid open with force. The two of them looked up to see Yuunagi at the doorway. She looked quite disturbed by the scene.
“Ahem, public place, hellooooo!”
“The Haibara Family owns this hospital. Akio-kun is simply getting the best service possible.”
It suddenly clicked in Akio’s mind how she got the nurse outfit.
“That does not make it right!”
“How about I let you change into one and join in?”
“W-W-W-WHAT?! NO!”
“Even if Akio-kun asks for it?” Misaki grabbed Akio’s hand and had him press the call button. “See… he’s calling for some extra service.”
Yuunagi, now red in the face, pounced on Misaki, tearing her off Akio. They both crashed into the next bed over.
Akio simply reached for the button to recline his bed up. He sighed as he watched Misaki try to strip Yuunagi of her clothes.
“I wonder how the two of you would look in a Chinese dress, the kind that has a slit to show off thigh.”
“That can be arranged!” Misaki paused and yelled out, while Yuunagi kept shaking her head at them.
Akio thought back to what Misaki said to him, about how she was worried that she would grow tired of things.
He laughed at the scene before them. If things like this kept happening, he didn’t know how it would ever be true. He simply needed to believe in that and nothing else.
