Chapter 1:

A New Path

The Strongest Friend's Secret Life [R18]

Suntejo City, the capital of the Kingdom of Leonus and the place where I'll start my new life. Two weeks ago, our school was transported to another world along with the entire student body and several teachers. The place where our school is suddenly teleported is in the middle of a very dangerous forest, thankfully we survived and finally got out of the forest after two weeks with the help of a group called the 'Royal Knights Order'. The royal knights saved us from a gigantic monster we encountered and they also help us by guarding and protecting us along the way. After we got out of the forest, what greeted us are a bunch of ambulances that the royal knights apparently called. They immediately examined the injured people with us and they were taken to the hospital.
The world where we end up is a modern world with similar or maybe even greater technology than Earth. The students keep looking around as we follow the royal knights, they're certainly nervous being brought to a different place. The royal knights then introduced us to the king and we were given a choice.
<><><><><>
A week passed after we arrive in this kingdom and this is the choice I made despite the traumatic events that happened. Yep, let's all forget about that.
The kingdom doesn't have a way to get us back to our own world, that's why we all agreed to be registered as citizens of this kingdom. The king promised that he'll help all of us live a stable life in this unfamiliar place, and that's when we made our own choices. Every students and teachers have something that they want to do so everyone eventually split off and go their own ways, but for me this is the only way I can have a stable life.
To study again, that's my new path. I, Asakura Touya, third year in senior high school will start over again as a first year in senior high school, but seriously thank god I'm not starting in elementary since that would be embarrassing. As for the reason why I'm going to school again even though I'm in another world is because I can't use magic. Before we were registered as citizens of this kingdom, we undergo a series of tests given by the royal knights, I got average on every tests except for the magic test where I failed. In this world where most of the people can use magic, there's not much an ordinary guy like me can do but live as a normal being and get a normal job after I graduate.
"..." And this is where I'm gonna start studying.
I stop at the entrance of the building in front of me. Royal Academy of Suntejo, the name of the school where I'm gonna start studying two months from now. One of the prestigious school in this kingdom but despite being a prestigious school there is blatant discrimination between nobles and commoners in this school. To be honest I should avoid this school but I have no choice, this is only one of the few schools in the country that accept students without magic affiliation, and the others are very far from the capital. I should just prepare myself on what will happen.
"...but well, this is really something." I thought to myself as I entered the school building.
The outside is designed very much like an European mansion and as I entered I was greeted by a very wide hallway and a ceiling five times higher than my height. The design of the inside of the academy is like those high-class hotel where rich people goes while on vacation that I have only seen in TV. There's also an elevator and stairs that can be use to go up and down and several intricate paintings pasted on the wall on every floor.
My school year will start after two months but the principal said I can explore the school if I want to, but the place is too big I don't think I'll want to see every bit of it, based on the school map posted on the first floor, I'll just go and see the important places. The principal also said I can attend any class I want, to experience what's it like to study in this school. To be honest, if you just ignore the discrimination, this school is excellent for the most part. The facilities is better than most school and is well-maintained, living at the school dormitories inside the school is free and even the food from the cafeteria is free, it's just like living in luxury.
"Now where should I go?" After exploring the silent floors for a few while I'm already bored, there's not much going on in every floor since the classes is still ongoing.
The clubs are on a different building so I'll just go there tomorrow. Should I find where the library is?
<><><><><>
I'm surprised they let me inside the library with the way I'm looking right now, maybe the principal already told them about the new students.
After I entered the library, I passed my time learning how to read the language of this another world, and it is very hard when it's language I haven't heard of. If someone's wondering how we managed to communicate with the royal knights and the king without learning the language, it is because of that data chip they brought. The data chips are only created in purpose of communicating with people from another world which appears from time to time over several years, but even then they're surprised because an entire school is teleported to this world, when they encounter people from another world it's usually less than five people.
The captain of the knights instructed us to put the data chip on the back of our heads, and after following her instructions, that thing zapped our head. Then all of a sudden we can already speak their language and understand them, although my head hurts a lot that time. It is like they instantly downloaded the whole language in to our head, but the problem is reading and writing is a completely different thing so they can't put those.
I mean like why not? Would our brain be overloaded if they did that? Still I thought learning their language will be easy since I can already speak and understand them but it turns out that I was wrong.
[Gurgle]
As I was continuing how to read, my stomach suddenly interrupts my study. Since I'm hungry anyways, let's go and try the cafeteria before going back to the dormitory.
I stand up and return the book I was reading to where it was before and go out of the library. The students are already starting to go out of their classrooms.
"Is it lunch break already?" I muttered to myself, I didn't even notice.
I walk down the hallway slowly and tried remembering where the cafeteria is, I only saw the school map once so it's going to take a while to remember.
"Am I going the right way?" While I'm asking myself that question, I notice the students looking at me.
Is it because I'm not wearing a school uniform? There's nothing I can do about that since I'll receive those one week from now.
Without caring about the stares of the students around me, I continued my journey to find the cafeteria and found it after a few minutes. The cafeteria is already full of students when I arrived, and it's exactly I imagined what a rich school's cafeteria would be. The tables and chairs are very fancy, the ones they use for tea parties but a little bit bigger, even the plates and cups are extravagant, just how much money did they use for this school?
I'm not familiar with this world's food but I can spot a few foods similar to the ones that are served back in Japan. They also have pictures of the food they serve along with the recipe's name written below the picture posted, that's really helpful for someone like me who doesn't have any idea what to choose, although I can't read most of it.
As I was surveying the area like a lost kid in a mall, someone slightly bump with my right shoulder while running and eventually pass me, she must really be in a hurry.
"..." She dropped her handkerchief.
I pick it up and look around for her, now where is that girl?
"She's already gone." Isn't that girl too fast, I didn't even know which way she went after picking up her handkerchief.
Should I line up and give this the next time I see her, or should I go and find her?
As I was contemplating what to do while walking towards the line, I see her out of the corner of my eye on one of the tables on the far right of the cafeteria. She's with other two girls who might be her friends.
I immediately leave the line and slowly approach her.
"I'm sorry, I'm late.""It's fine, it's only a few minutes."
I tap her left shoulder after she seated and she look back to me.
"Eh? Who?" Of course she'll be surprised if a stranger suddenly touch her but... she's actually cute.
A short girl wearing glasses with her black hair braided. The typical nerdy type, simple but I like simple ones more.
I show her the handkerchief in my hand. Realizing what I'm doing, she touch her skirt's pockets to find for her own but it turns out it was missing.
"Did you pick it up? Thank you!" She tries to get the handkerchief but before she touch it I pulled it back."Why? Aren't you gonna give it back to me?" She asks with a very confused look."Do you have classes in the afternoon?" I give her a smile while asking."Just two classes, why?""I'm Touya by the way... then do you want to hang out with me later?""Eh?" Her face turns red all of a sudden and after a few seconds. "Are you okay with me?" She responds with my question without looking at me.""Erica!"" Her two friends shouts because of her answer.
Wait, why is my head suddenly wet?
