Chapter 1:
Shooting Stars
"Get in your room now." Mom ordered. Sighs, I'm grounded again...
'Clank,' the sound of lock echoed through the room, I turned away from the door and gazed at my room. It was lit up by cool toned neon lights, I don't know, I just kinda liked neon lights -----It looks cool you see, but Kailee have a different opinion.
"Are you in a sci-fi setting or what?," Kailee scoffs as she sat on the chair besides my bed. "Shut it Kai, it looks cool! The colors are in harmony and it doesn't hurt to look at it," Chander reasons, that's right Chander, you're the only one that understands me! "Yeah whatever," Kailee rolls her eyes as she settled.
These two are my only friends, they come over to play nintendo with me sometimes.
Looking back, it's been a while since they've visited. I kinda miss Chander defending me, and Kailee, who might seem indifferent and rude but still is real. We always got each others' back.
Damn, we've been too busy with school this past weeks that we didn't have any time to spare for a sleepover. Plus we ain't even in the same class! Just our luck...
I haven't got the chance to see Kailee and seek for her advice on something...
That something is well, it has got to do with puberty. But no! Not anything bodily! It would be weird to ask her something like that!...it's just that..Nathan... my crush, had been showing me signs! Kailee would know because she often mentions, what was it again.. BL, yes..well aparently that stands for boyslove.
When she started mentioning this, at first, both me and Chander was weirded out. We were both boys and our only female friend talks about love between boys, so..well, whatever. But since I started liking Nathan, I pay extra attention to her rants. She seems to notice it and starts teasing me to it. Chander who was clueless, could not defend me.
Eventually, I opened up. Chander was shocked but was happy that I told them. Kailee was more relaxed like she had expected it and was quite smug about it too.
"So who's the lucky or unlucky guy?," Kailee teased, Chander scolded her while I hid myself out of embarassment "You know him...Nathan." I confessed, both of them gasped out.
"Nathan?! You mean Nathan from class 2?!" Chander blurrted out, "That one drummer guy from the school's band? Damn." Kailee stated, amazed.
They pestered me the whole day, thousands of questions were asked, 'what do you like about him?' Or 'when did you start liking him?' And the like. I ended up exhausted as heck.
So, that was the time it started. Whenever the three of us went to have lunch together, they were always on the look out for Nathan. When Nathan was there, they'd always tease me, loudly at that. It got to the point that Nathan was noticing it too, I don't know if it's the good kinda notice or the bad one.
Once the two winded on it too, they were happy and celebrating like fools, saying things like 'mission accomplished, baby~'.
Honestly, I don't know anymore.
On the current time, things have gone an unexpected turn...
Nathan asked for my number and just recently asked me to go to one of the band's play. Kailee and Chander doesn't know about our number exchange yet, they'd probably yeet.
Nathan started going to my class too, well I mentioned I loved to sing and they were looking for a vocalist, so he gets me to their practices sometimes.
At first I wasn't even confident, but after sample singing while Nathan listened, he was blown out and complimented my voice. Of course I couldn't sleep that night. Nathan quickly offered me to be their vocalist, but I was still so overwhelmed by the quick tidal waves of events that I asked some more time to decide. Nathan was so considerate and didn't rush me.
Well...I realized...there are a LOT of things Chander and Kailee needs to catch up.
I should probably text them but my phone was confiscated by mom. I was so out of it that I broke two of mom's favourite bowls.
"Adrian, I love you baby but you seem too out of it." Mom says, damn, I feel so much guilt now..."I'm sorry Mom, I didn't mean to.." I said looking down.
