Chapter 10: Minohara Part 3: Vs Reganam

            “I am going to remove your teeth. You won’t need them. Once you enter my lord’s arena, you will never leave. You will die in the jaws of a mighty Hell-beast, if your lucky, if not, you will get to learn what its like to be digested.” Reganam growled. “I will capture all your friends, and after they watch you die, I will bring your little band of saints to an end!”

“You can try!” A familiar voice called out from the other side of the hall. It was Hisakawa, she led the others in an epic walk down the hall, Yuzuru to her right, Kanako to her left, Asahi and Kotone took the rear. Hisakawa had dozens of pieces of metal floating behind her, giving the illusion of wings. Once they were a few meters away, they stopped.

“What are you wearing?” Reganam questioned in disbelief.

Hisakawa looked down at her yellow romper, then she stared at Reganam. “What are you wearing?”

“Armor?” Reganam raised an eyebrow.

“I don’t need armor. One good thing about having to rebuild yourself a body out of metal,” she punched her own palm a couple of times, “you can make yourself indestructible.”

“We will see about that!” Reganam dashed forward, causing a few of her demon subordinates and Shingo to dodge. Hisakawa matched her pace. Their arms crashed into each other, Reganam flinched at the pain. They then began to exchange a flurry of punches.

The other demons charged at the teens. A demon tackled Shingo, he struggled to maneuver his blade, but he was able to give the demon a few cuts, just enough for the demon to get off him. The demon jumped back, Shingo slashed at his feet, the demon avoided every time. Shingo was able to get onto his own feet as the demon pulled out a knife. Neither one was able to land a hit on the other, until, Hanmusume-hachi, who still sat on the floor, subtly tripped the demon, allowing Shingo to kill him, the only ones who saw this, was Kosuke and Shingo.

Kosuke lit his whole body ablaze, his demon captors tried to hang on, but they couldn’t bare the pain of his blessed flames. The moment they let go, Kosuke dropped to the floor and rolled, putting out the flames on his clothes. He took his katana in his hands, and ran at them, lighting only his sword on fire. He cut clean through the both of them like butter. Yuzuru turned to him, holding the severed head of a demon. “Nice one, you’ve really improved, you might even be better then Kanako-chan now.”

“Bullshit!” Kanako screeched as she slayed her opponent. “I’ve still killed more demons than him!” She pointed her bloody blade at Kosuke.

“By two.” Yuzuru sated. He and Kanako then approached Hanmusume-hachi with their blades drawn. Shingo and Kosuke slid in between them. “What are you doing?” Yuzuru growled.

“Why are you protecting a demon?” Kanako demanded, while pointing her sword at Kosuke once again.

Kosuke swatted Kanako’s weapon away with his own. “She helped Shingo, I believe she has a good heart, just wasn’t allowed to show it. She isn’t a combatant, we should take her prisoner.”

Kanako tried to slip past Kosuke. “She is a demon! She can’t be good!”

Kosuke blocked her and they clashed blades. “So, we are just supposed to genocide anyone who has a drop of demon blood? What about kids?! Huh?!” Kosuke shouted back at her.

“Hey lady!” Yuzuru called out, getting Hanmusume-hachi’s attention. “Do you surrender?”

“Surrender?” Hanmusume-hachi echoed.

“Yes, if you surrender, then we can’t kill you without a trial. There are laws against it. Do you surrender?” Yuzuru repeated.

“Uh…” Hanmusume-hachi thought for a moment. She put her hands up level to her ears. “Y-yes.”

Yuzuru nodded. “Shingo-kun. You keep an eye on her.” He then walked over to Kanako, he grabbed her by the ponytail and pulled her away from Kosuke. “Okay, cool off, terrorist-chan.”

“Where is Kotone-chan?” Kosuke asked, looking around the hall full of demon corpses. “And Asahi-san?”

The group gazed past Hisakawa fighting Reganam to see Kotone crying while Asahi held her in her arms. Kosuke pressed his body to the wall. He slid over to Kotone. “Hey, are you-“ He saw she was covered in blood, and her uniform jacket was torn, he couldn’t see any skin, only red. “Kotone! Your bleeding, are you okay?” He put his hands up, unsure on how to help.

“I-I’m alright, but, but I had to kill her. I-I took a life! I know I’m being a big baby, but, but.” Kotone stammered her response.

Kosuke hugged the two girls. “I’m sorry you had to do that. I know you didn’t want to.”

Kotone sniffed. “I know I had to, when she got my arm, she would have killed me, if I didn’t. Still, I feel bad.”

Asahi then let go and stepped back. “We need to get your arm taken care of, that wound is really bad.” She ripped some cloth of a demon body and pressed it on Kotone’s arm.

“The infirmary is still an infirmary. I’ll lead the way and cut down any demons that get in our way.” Kosuke then redrew his blade and led Kotone and Asahi to the stairs.

Hisakawa took a couple of blows from Reganam. Both leapt backwards to have their first break. Both heaved, both bleeding from cuts on their faces. Reganam pulled out a morning star from behind her. “I’ll make sure you are dead this time!” She rushed Hisakawa, who made a shield out of her scrap pieces of metal. She then cut at Reganam’s face twice.

Reganam hit Hisakawa in the arm. The side of the morning star that hit Hisakawa became flat. Reganam hit her again, causing her to slide into the wall. Hisakawa turned to face her opponent, when Reganam grabbed her by the shoulder and smashed her back into the wall. She pulled back her mace, right as it was about to hit Hisakawa’s face, it stopped. Hisakawa smirked. “I have power over metal, remember?” Yuzuru’s katana then pierced through Reganam’s back, just barely impaling her through her stomach. Hisakawa had used her powers to take control of it. She then punched Reganam in the face with her free arm, sending her sliding to the middle of the hall.

Hisakawa floated above Reganam to get behind her. She pulled out Yuzuru’s blade and walked around to face Reganam. The demon made one final attempt at an attack, and Hisakawa took off her head. Reganam’s severed head rolled right in front of Hanmusume-hachi.
