Chapter 1:

A friend to Remember.

Legacy

I wish I could rewind time.

My parents did some pretty bad stuff, that I really wish they didn't. They murdered a person and always punished me for their mistakes. I don't really like to talk about with people. I don't really need to. They already know. I want to change that but I can't. You know how in the movies they usually tease that one weird kid? And then that kid does something heroic that saves them or makes them the most popular kid? That's never gonna happen with me.

Kids don't tease me, they stay away from me, I can't do anything good enough to prove am a good person. My parents are in jail, and I don't have enough time to prove am good enough.

Am sick.

really sick.

I want to prove people am a good person before it's too late.

I walk down the school hallways, and I pass some kids. They are stare and walk faster. I walk towards a blue door, and open the cafeteria door and sit outside on a wooded seat near a tree, everyone stares and turn away. Kids who sat nearby, quickly take a different seat. I know am sick and should probably be at home. But I just want to meet up with a friend.

"Jackie!"

I turn around and see a old friend running towards me. I smile.

"Hey John, how was your day?" I moved over so he can sit with me.

"The same old crap. Teasing, yelling, and being called the weirdo for being friends with you." He chuckles. He smiles and looks at me.

He's the only one who understands me.  John was always the one who wanted to hang out with me, even through he knows what my parents did. Even when he is being teased, bullied, by kids, or yelled by his parents for hanging out with me. He's always there. He gets along with most of the kids and stands up to bullies. He's gonna leave a good legacy when he's gone. I wish I was like him.

We just chat about class and what we should do tomorrow after school.

"Why don't we go somewhere?"  John says. "That would be fun."

I hesitate. "Why don't we play games instead?" I pick up my sandwich and move to the trash can and put it in there.

"You should eat." John looks at me with a serious expression. "you haven't been eating."

"Yeah, yeah, sorry." I force a smile "Am just been feeling sick."

John is still concerned, but keeps eating.

I don't want to tell him how sick I am. I don't want to worry him.

"You might need to go back home. If you're sick you need to rest."

I look at John and smile. He's such a nice person.

"Tomorrow, for sure." The bell rings and he garb our backpacks. say bye, but as I leave I hear:

"Wait, Jack?"

I turn around and face him.

"You know you can tell me if something's wrong right? We're friends. I care about you."

I stare at him for a little bit. I then finally nod.

"Yeah, of course!"

We then both go different ways, and head to our own classes.
