Chapter 0:
Blind Immortal
“For as long as I can remember, there has always been a feeling that lingers in my heart. —the feeling of emptiness.
I have a family—my mother, father, brother, and sister. But still, somewhere in this fullness, it felt like I was missing something. A part of my heart had been torn off, and the worst is, I don’t even remember anything.
What was it? Who was it?
But when I see the fallen maple leaves scattered along the autumn road, my eyes try to search for something, search for someone. Don’t know what it was? Does it really exist, or is it just me and my sickness?”
One season the flowers bloom, another season they fall.
Yet this heart longs for something it doesn’t know what.
“In the snowy winter nights, I sat beside the fire, layering myself with coats, yet I felt cold.
Only my heart felt a little warm. Sometimes, I wonder — it's just because of my Fire essence Core.”
Snowflakes swirl in the winter wind.
But there is someone who keeps my heart warm.
“Often I see that person in my dreams. When I woke up, I tried to remember that face. But with the fleeting memory, it escaped, like the sand from the broken hourglass. Only leaving a bittersweet feeling of time in my heart.
Whenever I do something, I want to do it for that person.
Whenever I eat something delicious, I want to share it with someone; that person must be hungry. That person never takes care….
Whenever I saw hairpins in the market, I always wanted to buy them. Buy them for that person…………
The haitang tree near the bridge looks so lonely. Enduring the pain all alone on a snowy night, yet it complained to no one, yet it shared its sorrow with no one.
Everyone praised its beauty, yet no one seems to care about it.”
Who pities the Haitang blooming alone?
“As I watched the Haitang flowers drifting with the wind, I saw a lone figure form, but when I tried to get there, it vanished, leaving only the delicate petals.
I went over there, standing under its branches, clutching the last wisp of petals, I had finally found my home.”
Wherever the Haitang blooms, there is my home.
“Bowing before the magnificent statue of an immortal with his eyes covered, I pray only for one thing….
prayed to meet that person…”
