Danger Zone PT.2

Chiba’s Beast Safety Control, 8:04 AM. Zaki is standing outside by the black car as he sees Shiro and Yoriha sitting next to each other on a bench, accompanied by some cats.

ZAKI : “They seem to get along well~ Hehe.”
- He said with a mischievous voice.

Amuro and Shiro approach Zaki, both ready for today’s investigation.

AMURO : “Goodmorning, Mr. Hoshiro.”
- He said professionally

Shiro looked at Amuro, wondering why he was acting so professional.

ZAKI : “Goodmorning, Amuro and Shiro!”
- He suddenly grabbed the two of them by their necks using his arms.

SHIRO : “ACK..! HEY!”
- Shiro jolts from the sudden headlock.

Amuro was staring blankly, as if he was used to the regular headlock hugs Zaki would give.

ZAKI : “Hehehe! Today’s going to be your first training lesson!”
- He giggled mischievously.

SHIRO : “Training lesson..?! Wasn’t this supposed to be an investigation?!”

Yoriha approaches them while holding a cat.

YORIHA : “Sorry for luring you into this ‘investigation', Shiro, but I decided to let Zaki into this since he’s been very excited to give Division 6 a lesson.”
- She said sincerely, while the white cat on her hands was relaxing.

- Shiro face softens as he sees Yoriha approach them with shock and surprise, while still being headlock hugged by Zaki.
SHIRO : “Does Amuro know?”

AMURO : “I already knew the moment he wanted to join in this.”
- He said calmly with a blank stare.

- Yoriha had a silly smile.
YORIHA : “Hehe~ Sorry, you two. I couldn’t stop him after he begged on his knees to train you guys~”

ZAKI : “Hehehehe!~”
- Zaki giggled, still having the two headlock hugged by his arms.

YORIHA : “You can let go of them now, Zaki.”

Zaki lets go of the headlock hug, as Shiro touches the side of his neck, as it’s quite sore from the headlock hug. Yoriha leans in closer to Shiro to look, Shiro blushes a little from the sudden concern.

YORIHA : “Does it hurt? Is it sore?”
- She immediately asked while leaning onto his neck.

- Shiro blushed; his face was slightly red.
SHIRO : “I- I- It’s okay! It didn’t hurt that much.”
- He struggled to get his words out because of how close Yoriha’s face was to his.

YORIHA : “Hmmm..?”
- She said while still inspecting and leaning closer towards his neck to get a better look.

Zaki and Amuro watched as all this happened. Zaki was quite impressed by how quickly they both got close, seeing Yoriha’s concern for Shiro.

ZAKI : “Are they a ‘thing’ now or what?”
- Zaki murmured as he leaned sideways towards Amuro’s ears.

AMURO : “She’s got a liking towards him.”
- Amuro whispered back with a blank face, watching Shiro and Yoriha.

ZAKI : “Hmmm…”
- Zaki stays silent for a moment, thinking about how to cut the ‘flirting’ of the two of them.
ZAKI : “OKAY! WE HAVE A LONG RIDE TO KATORI! LET’S GET GOING, STUDENTS!”
- He yelled, his face held a grin while his eyes were closed, and he had one of his hands in the air, closed.

- Shiro takes notice, as he looks back at Yoriha.
SHIRO : “Right..! I’ll get going now.”

- Yoriha looks at Shiro with sincere and beautiful eyes.
YORIHA : “Okay! Good luck! Make sure to report back to me later.”
- She said while still having the cat on her arms, with a sincere face as his eyes shine through Shiro once again.

Shiro stared at Yoriha’s beautiful purple eyes again, as if he were staring at a galaxy.

He thought to himself, mesmerized by her eyes.

Mito Rte Road, 9:02 AM. The same road Shiro had been attacked on when he was leaving Katori.

Shiro looks outside the car window as the car they are in just drove past the same overpass bridge where he was attacked.

He murmured to himself while looking at the roadside where he was first attacked by a beast.

Zaki suddenly peeked his head from the front passenger seat, looking at Shiro.

ZAKI : “Shiro!”
- He said with a mischievous face.

SHIRO : “Huh?”
- Shiro looked at Zaki, slightly surprised by the sudden callout.

ZAKI : “I’d like to know how superpowers work, I’m SUPER curious!”
- Zaki asked with excitement in his voice.

SHIRO : “I- I usually just stab my eyes and my torso or neck… then it activates.”
- He explained, avoiding eye contact with Zaki.

ZAKI : “Eeeh? Doesn’t that hurt? You’d have to kill or brutally hurt yourself first before activating it?”
- He asked curiously.

SHIRO : “I- It does, but the wounds disappear after it activates, and it no longer hurts.”

ZAKI : “Hmmm”
- He thinks for a bit before speaking again.
ZAKI : “So… you’re not a hybrid or forged spy.”
- He spoke, scratching his chin as he tried to find out what kind of species Shiro is.

SHIRO : “Forged… spy?”
- He was confused.

AMURO : “Forged spies, they’re humans with the body or a heart of a beast.”
- Amuro suddenly spoke as he answered Shiro’s questions.

- Shiro looked at Amuro as he was staring at the car window, explaining what Forged Spies are.

AMURO : “They’re similar to what you are, but the difference is that they need to inject some kind of drug into their bodies to activate their abilities, unlike you, which only needs to be badly wounded.”
- He looked back at Shiro, staring into his shocked, widened eyes.

SHIRO : “Why are they called spies..? If they’re just humans with modified bodies.”
- He calmly asked.

ZAKI : “Countries use them for military and war purposes; it’s insane, but nations use anything against each other nowadays.”
- Zaki said while drinking juice through a straw as he relaxed on the passenger seat.

Shiro tried to analyze everything he had heard, from ‘forged spies’ to wars, nations, and the military. It’s quite a lot and complicated, but it makes him question himself as to why he has these abilities in the first place and why Sheena haunts him almost every day now.

“How did I end up like this?”“

“Or maybe it’s true that Sheena lives within me now? Hence why she’s always haunting my dreams.”

He stares outside the car’s window, seeing the bright sun shining down.
