Chapter 5: The Frequency Key and the Bitter TruthConnection

The father's frequency

Arthur stared at Emma in disbelief, his eyes burning with rage. "You... how did you get in? This place was built only for our bloodline!"
Emma, catching her breath, held up the glowing blue device. "This isn't just a detector, Arthur! It contains a frequency code that overrides the logic of this place. I fixed it, so now, I’m part of the system too!"
Johan stepped in front of Emma, shielding her. "It’s over, Uncle. Your weapons are useless here. There is nothing but memories."
Arthur let out a pained, jagged laugh. "Memories? I didn't come here for a museum! I want to use that clock to go back—back to the day your father found that map. If I stop that moment, your father would still be alive, and we would be the wealthiest family on Earth!"
Suddenly, a familiar voice echoed through the crystalline hall.
"Time does not turn back, Arthur."
Johan froze. A blurry figure began to materialize in the center of the hall. It was his father, appearing like a silhouette made of pure light.
"Johan, my son... you made it," his father said softly. "And Emma, thank you for helping him." He then turned his gaze toward Arthur. "This place isn't for changing the past; it’s for protecting the future. You only have 40 minutes left. If the device doesn't reach the heart of this hall, this cave will become a tomb for everyone."
The timer hit: 00:40:00.
Emma whispered to Johan, "Johan, your father is right. The ground is starting to destabilize. The device needs an anchor. We have to decide, now."
