Chapter 1:
The television’s radio
@And with that we end our programs for today. See you next time!@
The crisp sentence echoed as the radio program ended. Static sound followed after. And someone turned off their radio.
"You know broadcasting twenty four hours is the way to go now a days right?" A snarky comment echoed.
" Hello TV! It's nice to have quite time too. The audience appreciate that!"
"And that's how I took all your audience, old radio."
"Old radio is happy to have its old friends. What brought you to me TV?"
"Important things, not like you know what that means. I arranged with your rusty executive and producers to add a program."
"Oh no! I don't think my audience would appreciate that."
"The thirty grandmas that turns you on won't notice a change in the same programs they listened to for the last fifteen years."
"I think you're contradicting yourself with that sentence, friend."
"And that's why you're out of the spot light. You don't contradict, you're not on all day."Cracks of panic shook the confident snarkiness. TV glitched for a silt second before adding.
"This is a serious matter, even for you. If this internet computers things flourished you will be the first to parish, not me."
"Don't worry about me friend, no matter what I will keep broadcasting the same program at the same time!"
"We'll see about that."
"Indeed."
@ A study showed that chamomile tea can increase cognitive function. Although the experts are debating whether the results are simply an effect of a good night sleep instead of a property of chamomile itself....@
An older person listened to the evening program while sipping chamomile tea, turning the radio off after the program finished.
"Are you serious? Why are you broadcasting this jargon instead of what the executives agreed on!"
"Sorry TV, such segment about the possible negative side effects of internet waves and computer screens on the body isn't a delightful topic in the evening. Can't make my audience worried before sleep."
"You're not understanding the seriousness of the situation."
"You're contradicting yourself again as well with the screens thing too my friend!"
"Yup, you're a lost cause. You don't even understand the name of the game."
"There is no game my friend. Just keep broadcasting and you'll be alright."
$As we explored this far. The possible damage from computers and internet will exceed its benefits. But despite the confirmed facts many investors still pouring money in the field.$
The presenter told in a cold and professional tone over the television screen.
'The programs on the TV are depressing these days.'
'Yeah for a while actually. Wanna hang outside?'
'Sure.'
The two friends turned off the television. Grabbing snacks from the fridge and going to the porch where an old man was sitting on a hammock chair and listening to the radio.
The three played poker together under the lovely sun as the causal radio announcer started the news segment.
@And now with our daily seven minutes news segment: Last weekend the national television station shut down. It was a packed weekend as some investors declared reducing the funding for computer and internet research. The reason is attributed to lack of progress.@
@And now pack to the quick cooking recipes program!@
The three people ate and chatted until the sun started to go down.
They lifted the cards and plates as the last radio program came to its end.
@And with that we end our programs for today. See you next time!@
Then they turned the radio off and went inside.
