Preparations

It's now almost night, and I've returned home with Tomo having sent me the video.
'It's time to go public! ...or I'd like to, but is this enough evidence? It's definitely showing something weird is happening at least.
...Where do I even start to spread the news...'
"Are you ok?"
"Huh?"
"You're looking like a statue, is everything fine?"
"Oh yeah, just lost in my thoughts is all."
"...Well, whatever it is, I'll be on your side!
Oh, how'd Tarou like the treats I made by the way?"
"He liked them, we both did. Thanks again."
"Heh, no problem, anything you need and I'll help out!"
'Hmm... I should start by telling Gaia first, maybe this will make her believe me.'
"Actually, do you know where Gaia is? I wanted to talk to her."
"Oh, she called earlier saying she won't be home, she didn't say why though."
"Oh ok."
'I guess I'll talk to her tomorrow after school.'

Just then the front door opens.
"HELLO FAMILY! Finally home, give me a hug everyone!"
"Yay! Welcome home dear."
"Oh, hey dad, sorry I was about to go sleep."
"DAMN IT ALL! But tomorrow is school, so ok. Have a good rest!"

The bell rings, ending a boring school day, but instead of walking to the club room, I start heading out instead.
'Gaia will probably be at HQ, so I'll go there.
...I should at least give them a message first though, for once.'
I sent the club a text.
"Sorry guys, can't make it, I need to do something today."

...

Finally I arrive at HQ, I head inside noticing Thunder.
'Perfect.'
"Excuse me! Thunder!"
"Hm? Oh, I remember you."
"Yeah, uh, do you know where Gaia might be? I really need to talk to her."
"Her? Yeah, do you want me to go ask if she can come meet you here?"
"That would be perfect, yes."
"Ok, stay here."

Some time passes until Gaia finally appears.
"What's this? Could it be... You missed me so much you just had to come see me?! You shouldn't have~!"
Sigh "Actually, I wanted to talk to you about something. About what I told you yesterday."
"Oh? I think my answer will be the same."
"I did bring something else. I have video proof that Neptune is up to no good."
After I say that, her smile disappears, now serious as she continues.
"...Show me."

I show her the video and explain, including how we searched the city to find him and basically everything that happened. When I finish I can almost feel her anger, though she doesn't show it.
"Yeah, I also wasn't expecting something to this degree, I thought he might have been just a credit hog-"
"That's not it. Well partly, but also, HOW COULD YOU DO THIS?"
Her yelling at me catches me by surprise.
"What...?"
"You actually thought Neptune was up to no good, and yet you followed him? Are you insane?! That could have been way too dangerous!"
"I- I'm sorry."
"But also, good job."
"Huh?"
'What's going on...'
"I knew you'd get it, I'm glad! I knew you were telling the truth."
"I'm confused... I thought you didn't believe me?"
"I saw the same reporting as you, after all his dedication and training I saw him do and endure, he would probably get absolutely wrecked before ever running from a villain, so I knew something was up."
"Why didn't-"
"Because, you can't ever be sure who's listening, after all, I had no idea if it was just Neptune or if there might be more, I can't risk something like that."
"So when you mentioned evidence... You wanted me to find some?"
"Yeah, I can't go around accusing other people with no proof after all, and I could only do so much from my position. Especially with everything I have to do. You on the other hand are a lot more free to sneak around, especially with that teleportation, and I'm sure those two friends of yours were also quite helpful."
"Why did you just yell at me then?!"
"I may have wanted that, but I'm still your aunt. I'm still gonna get worried and mad if you do something dangerous. Sorry it's part of the job of being a family."
"...So, what now? We got the evidence right? Should we go to the news with it or something?"
"Not quite. This is good, but I like to be thorough with my accusations.
You got proof that Neptune's character is actually a lot less heroic than he seems, but I'd also like to include proof of the actual truth of what happened with Tarou."
"Oh, are we going to convince him to speak out?"
"That would be great, but I was actually thinking of a different another witness."
"A different witness? Who would that be?"

She bends down and places her hand on my shoulder.
"I think we both remember a certain enemy that he was fighting, no better witness than the one arrested."

'Light Show?!'

...

We go through several hallways, going through pathways I hadn't previously seen.
"Where are we going? Where even is this?"
"Secret paths that only open to certain people, since you're with me, you got my clearance."
"Secret pathways? Woah."
"We're headed for the area with top security, we usually only place peoples of interest in there, which Light Show having previously had her hands on that artefact from the vault, it made sense to put her here."
"...Why's that? Is it some solitary confinement or something?"
"No, we were more hoping to interrogate her until she told us who she got the bag from, no such luck so far though, but I think we just got something to break open that path."
"What?"
"If you haven't realized it, you will soon enough."

It takes a little more walking but we finally arrive, a doorway with two guards on standby, as we approach they stand aside and let us in.
We walk in, Gaia closing the door behind us. There in front of us, in a fairly nice cell, was Light Show.

She stands up and walks directly to the bars with a smile on her face, before speaking in a snarky tone.
"What's this? I didn't request any visitors."

Gaia doesn't hesitate to speak as I remain quiet, not wanting to mess anything up.
"We're here to see if you'll be more cooperative."
"Has dementia hit you already? Well you ARE at that age, so."
"Shut it. How about you tell us of the fight you had?"
"What fight?"
"The one that got you captured."
"...Why would you want to know about that?"
"Neptune seems to have gotten the credit for it."
"Cool, I guess."
"It was Tarou though, wasn't it?"
"Who knows."
"But see, it doesn't make much sense, why would Neptune do this just to take the credit for himself?
But that's when a nice little video landed on my lap. One that might shed more light on it, care to watch?"

Gaia then proceeds to show Light Show the video, at first she acted as if she didn't care, but then when she looked at the evidence her eyes widened, with shock perhaps, which is when Gaia continued.
"He didn't do it to take away any credit did he? In this video it shows him talking with several villains, perhaps the intention was for you to have joined him in these talks, isn't that right?"
"..."
"He took the credit, not because it was his objective, but because it was the only way to get close to you to talk privately, he definitely knew you wouldn't go to the normal prison after you were found with that bag after all."
"...What do you want?"
"The truth."
