Red and White

Just as instructed I keep my eye on them. They're still bickering when suddenly they clash violently, soon forming into a sort of ball made of energy and exploding outward, like how they first appeared.
'Damn it, they're moving.'
"Hey, the girls started moving, they're currently a big ball of... Energy? I think. They're heading north, through the street."
"Got it, moving as fast as I can, I'm almost to your location.
Keep tracking them."
I quickly also head north following after the girls.
While the street eventually starts turning to the right, the girls clearly didn't as I find them when I look through a newly formed big hole on the side of a building.
'Sheesh, they definitely didn't have this kind of firepower before...'
"Found them, I think they knocked each other out or something when they crashed into this house because I see both of them, they're each in a corner of the same room."
"House?!"
"Yeah, don't worry, I see the front door open, so the owners must have ran."
"Please steer clear of Red and White, just in case, I'll be there soon."

I wait on the street, since it has a good view of White.
'She has doubts... I wonder.'
I keep thinking as everything seems fine, until I realize Red is missing.
'Huh? Where did she go?'
I don't search for long as I suddenly see a light coming from behind me.
'A fireball!'
I try to dodge out of the way and teleport to a roof above, but I wasn't fast enough and get slightly burned on my shoulder.
"...!
So painful... But that could have been worse. Now where is she?"
"Right here."
I barely react to the sound coming from behind me as I suddenly get punched off the roof of the house, landing painfully on the ground below.
She then jumps off, landing beside me.
"Well, well, you turned out to be a little perv, didn't you?!"
Cough "Wh- What?"
"You were spying on my best friend! Though I guess I should be glad you had less eyes for me huh?"
'Best?'
"That wasn't it! I was just-"
"Doesn't matter, because what you're about to do is sleep, for a looong time."

She lifts her leg ready to stomp me, but before she can do it a big boulder is launched at her, landing squarely on her. I look with relief to who threw it.
"Thank you, just in time Gaia."
"I should have been here earlier, get back quickly."
I try to teleport but fail, the pain is too big for it, only causing some energy zaps to flow out of me, so I stand up and hobble my way to behind her.
"I'm gonna need to rest for a bit before I can teleport again."
"That's ok, I'll protect you."
She keeps a steely gaze on the boulder, until suddenly it starts cracking, exploding into bits as Red appears from it covered in flames.
"Hmph, is that all you got? Amy, wake up already!"
As she says this she shoots a small bullet sized flame at White's butt, which wakes her up instantly.
"WHAT THE?! CHLOE! YOU'RE GETTING IT THIS TI-"
"SHUT UP! We got enemies."
"Huh? Oh, it's that guy again, and... Her?!"
She quickly takes a step back.
"I see you remember me and what I can do, good. Surrender and I'll go easy on you."
"She will not! Amy come on! Remember what he gave us?"
"...Right."
White steps forward again, taking a stand next to Red, ready to fight.
"Gaia careful! I think Neptune gave them something, they seem powered up, they knocked Thunder out with one punch."
"Is that so? Thanks for the warning. Let's try putting them in a cage first."

Gaia suddenly crouches down touching the ground with her right hand, then suddenly a ton of metal bars bursts from the ground, successfully surprising both Red and White, quickly wrapping around them, like a tumbleweed.
"Very interesting, Amy you know earth magic too don't you?"
"Yes..."
White seems unmotivated to talk long.
"Ugh, you're no fun, fine, I'll do the trash talk for you. Go ahead and break these apart already."
White places her hand on the metal bars and quickly carves out an opening, freeing both of them.
"I think now it's our turn, let's see how you deal with this! Amy, cover me!"
"Barricade!"
White creates a tall rock wall directly in front of her.
'Hah, Gaia can blast right through that.'

I assume Gaia is about to attack, but instead she bunkers up, creating thick walls around us, similar to back at HQ.
"Huh? Why did you do a bunker?"
Before she can answer I feel a wave coming from outside, almost knocking the wind out of me somehow.
"That's why."
"Slowly it starts getting warmer, as a tiny crack appears."
"That new power up is no joke... Must have been another artefact from the vault."
"What do we do?"
"You feeling better?"
"What? Oh, yeah. Not the best, but better than before."
"Good, teleport us out."
"WHAT?! I-"
'I can't... I've only ever been able to teleport myself.'
"You can do it, your magic is more powerful than you think."
"I..."
"It's your turn to use your magic to help me, without it, well..."
"...I'll do it. I'll try."
"Good, I need you to teleport us to behind them, no doubt Red is, as we speak, absolutely covering our bunker and everything around us with a huge fire, but I have a plan."
"...Got it."
'Ok, this has to work, should be easy enough, I know the location, it's not far, and I was literally just there...
Ah, but I need to teleport her too, how do I...
Maybe that? It's the best I got.'

I put my hand on Gaia's shoulder.
"You can do this."
'For a moment I thought she was about to tease me...
No, I need to focus.'
I attempt to teleport both of us, a crackle of energy appears but no success.
"Keep trying until you get it!"
More cracks appear. I try again, nothing.
'...It feels close, maybe if I...'
"I'm sorry Gaia."
"Hm?"
I suddenly embrace Gaia.
"Oh! Wow."
"I think this will help."
"Well if you need to do it, can you do it from the back? I don't want to use you as a meat shield."
"Oh, r-right..."
I switch positions and embrace Gaia from the back.
"I gotta say, you should really consider my offer of training you, with enough practice you might not need to do this."
'Maybe I should...'

I start focusing, attempting another teleport, this time it feels better, easier even, before I know it we seem to blink right to behind Red, not even needing a portal like how I usually do it.
'It- It worked! No portal either... I think I've just gotten a new mastery over my magic!'
"Nice work little Kazu!"
Red immediately stops her magic, but before she can react to the sound behind her, Gaia is already readying a punch.
"Too late Red, my turn."
With one punch, Red gets launched right onto the flames she created, shocking White to her core.
"NO! CHLOE!"
Gaia quickly tackles White to the ground.
"Relax, your friend will be ok, it's her magic isn't it? She can shut it off any time."
Like she said, the flames disappear in a circle around Red.

Immediately after that, an explosion of smoke happens on top of her, we then all watch intently as Inferno suddenly runs out of it, carrying Red on his shoulder.
We hear him speak to Red as he's escaping.
"Sorry girl, but she never had her heart in it anyway."
