Chapter 32:
Twilight Star: First Goal
Londra sat next to Alden as the cart came to the gate of Whitesands Inlet. She was trying hard not to pout but she hadn’t been able to do anything but help create the sigils that powered the barrier and purification clouds. Then again, Alex had only helped with one battle. The grain fields had taken six sigils after they were pest free. They had been inhabited by over thirty tainted snakes. It was strange watching them fight snakes, yet Sasha seemed fine with it so everyone else was too. At the chicken farm there had been twenty tainted chickens that had grown to the size of Mara, so they were more chicken men. Also, strange but nobody had a problem with it. Theda and Delta were excited about the rare treat they would be having since eight had been purified and stored for butchering. Then at the second herb bed they were attacked by angry, cat size, tainted bees. She was allowed to help shield them while they figured out how to take them down.
“Your face is still pouty,” Alden projected, his long, ears wiggled once. “You need to put on your classic smile and leader face.” He waved to the guard who waved back excitedly while opening the gate. Londra did her best to smile while petting Delta.
“Five carts of supplies!” the guard started happily. “That is so… anyways, take a left, stay on the street and in a few minutes, you will see a large warehouse on the left. They are expecting you. Thanks, I really mean that. We get so sick of eating fish!”
“Thanks,” Londra smiled, motioning Alden to go while communicating the instructions to the four in control behind her. It was strange to see people just stop and stare with moisture creeping into their eyes. It made her want to give them more. As they neared the warehouse the door opened and the one that was there to greet them was Othniel, Lord Oberon’s son and one of the six she had saved. He had always tried to help them when he was allowed to be in the Challenge area. With a smile on his square, brown face, that lightened his dark grey eyes he waved hard enough that his short, fluffy black hair bounced. “Lord Othniel, I did not expect to be greeted by you,” Londra started as he offered her a hand down.
“Well, father wanted to but,” he paused with a chuckle. “They were so happy that I didn’t die, they decided I needed another sibling. Mom has never had easy pregnancies, so he is a bit preoccupied. Is that Zeke and Fenten? Wow… I mean wow,” he finished with wide open eyes.
Now Londra laughed as the team began to join her. “Yes, his muscles are back and there is a hint of green in his honey skin. He evolved all the way and is a Goblin Hero now, fully enhanced! Next to him is Calla, a Goblin Priestess also enhanced. Then Fenten with his lovely wings and Sasha…”
“Wait, the snake girl that those horrible men dragged around with them to Davie’s Den?” Lord Othniel blurted out then covered his mouth. “Sorry, that was loud.”
Sasha nodded with a smile on her buttercream face and emotion in her evergreen eyes, “one in the same. My thanks for the lotions that you gave me secretly. I, too, am enhanced now. It is hard not to be when around Londra and Anna.”
This caused him to laugh again turning to look at a man with muscles and short red hair. “I can understand that! That means you are Julius and who is the beauty next to you?”
“That is Mara and of course you remember Alden,” Londra answered since Julius was just staring. “This is Delta,” she continued nodding to be black cat in her arms. “Mara is holding Theda.”
“Wonderful,” Lord Othniel mumbled moving a bit closer to her looking at Delta. “Did Master Yevhen tell you we have one that we would like you to take,” he said quietly as people began to come into the warehouse slowly, as if they needed to be granted permission before entering. Two teen girls headed for him with scowls on their faces. Both appeared to be Elves or maybe half-Elf since their ears were half the size of Alden’s and only two fingers from their head. His mother was an Elf so maybe they were his sisters.
“Yes,” Londra responded, a slight frown on her round, light beige face. “Why are we whispering?”
“Because we are under siege and can’t figure out a diplomatic way to get rid of them! They are looking for Feline Drakes while doing other things…,” the slightly older one stated. “Oh, pardon, I am Ochiai, his sister and sixteen. That is Onna, who is fourteen. Behind us, our guard who are more than angry with us.” Behind them stood two female, and two male guards with deep frowns.
“It isn’t safe here?” Zeke wondered, sizing up the two half-Elves that could be twins. They both had ivory, diamond faces and the same short, Elven ears with only an inch of height difference. Their pure brown hair was shoulder length. The only difference was that Ochiai’s eyes were green, and Onna’s were dark grey like her brother’s.
“Usually,” Lord Othniel sighed. “But we have unwanted visitors at the docks. No reason to turn them away but they are horrible. I am sure they are behind the recent incidents. That is why they need guards and were supposed to stay at the manor,” he sighed again.
“Mom is fine, dad is worrying, and it was boring,” Onna informed him in a sisterly way. “Mom said it was fine as long as we didn’t leave our guards. After what happened to Marine…”
“So, who is so dangerous?” Sasha wondered, looking around to see that nobody wanted to make eye contact. Each female had at least one male with them. Most stood in groups, and all looked afraid and… frustrated.
A wave of memories and a task“An Adventuring Party from Continent 30 called Rosebud,” Lord Othniel answered softly.
“Mara, take Londra to the back wall, now!” Theda grumbled, jumping out of her arms, flapping his beige wing and landing next to Delta who meowed sadly.
Mara didn’t wait but a second later Londra was doubled over in pain, tears streaming from her hazel eyes while she tried to not scream. Alden moved to the back with them, taking her shaking hand trying to ease the pain racing through her body.
“What did I say?” Lord Othniel asked with such concern showing in his square, brown face and dark silver eyes. He looked everywhere for an answer but seen everyone was just as concerned.
“It is complicated,” Delta sighed looking at the others that were staring at him. With a serious voice, “Fine, she is from Continent 30. We have been trying to tell her from the beginning but sense it is us, it doesn’t register. What you said about Rosebud being trouble, they always have been. Well, at least twelve of them. I am sure that it could be more now.”
“I will listen, but my hands need to be doing something,” Zeke announced, looking back at Londra rocking in pain. She had Mara and Alden so there was nothing he could do. “I am heading to the first cart to show whoever comes how to open the preservation spell.” He took a few shaky breaths before heading that way with Calla behind him.
“Agreed,” Fenten sighed hoping he didn’t start crying. Seeing Londra like that tore at his heart. He pulled in his wings just for something to do. “I will be at the second cart while Alex will be at the third. Julius will take the fourth leaving Sasha with the fifth. Please come join us…”
Theda sighed, laying before Lord Othniel, his sisters, and their guards. “Three months before being tossed into the horrible Challenge, Londra experience another challenge. Rosebud deemed her unworthy but her younger sister Heather… and mother, Lizama were. They had a list of all the worthy females and males that they needed to educate on the joys of intimacy. Disgusting jerks.” Since his voice wasn't monotoned but full of emotion the others stopped for a moment, taking in what he had said. Each showed different emotions, but they continued with their task.
“They use a powder; blow it in their face which made them loose consciousness but yet their bodies still…” Delta sighed, his voice still serious while his gold eyes watched everyone. “She protected us so deeply then. It was before we knew ourselves. She pushed her sister out of the way… but she figured it out. Then she made an antidote and gave it to everyone in town, one way or another. The powder did nothing. Thus, they used their ties with the president, one of the fathers, to make Londra go with them to look for clues about Green Goblins… or M-Ms. They tried to kill her often, but she knew and was always ready. She had her realization just before…”
“Oh,” Onna mumbled, blinking back tears reaching for her sister’s hand.
“Orchid, ladyfingers, ivy blossom, nightshade…” Theda mumbled. “That is all I remember.”
“That works,” Ochiai said activating her Lacrama, after squeezing her sister’s hand. “We can trace that combination… it would stay in the system and on the clothing. I am letting dad know.”
“Taxes,” Londra whispered to Mara who just sighed.
“Did they pay the taxes to the King?” Mara asked, holding Londra since she was shivering while Alden was massaging Londra’s hand trying to calm the headache. “It is Londra’s idea. She is being attacked by memories, both good and bad, yet she comes up with this. Every visiting party must pay taxes to the King and the port.”
“I will ask the Port Master,” Onna decided. “His daughter is my best friend.” She activated her Lacrama moving back but still listening while relaying information.
“One more thing,” Theda started watching Delta walk towards Londra. “Sigils. Calla, take over for me please. Londra needs petting.” Now both cats were in her lap as she was desperately trying to stop crying and shaking.
“Oh, yes, I can do that,” Calla said, placing a hand on Zeke’s shoulder before moving closer to the siblings. She smiled at Lord Othniel which softened her light honey, diamond face but there was still worry in her light violet eyes. “This is for you. It is a map of where all the double sigils are place.” She almost laughed at his confusion but instead continued on. “Now they create a barrier that nothing negative can enter and a purifying rain. We would like to take you, and a group with magic… like adventurers, to the chicken farm to show you how to refill them. They should be refilled every other day. Inside the barrier you are safe from anything outside so just wait them out. Also, a fair number of chickens are still pure and in need of supervision. There is a large amount of pure grain left for them as well.”
“I don’t know what to say…” he sighed. He activated his Lacrama to send out orders for all chicken farmers and mages to report to the gate in twenty minutes. He added a bit of a reward with it to get them there. Yet, most would come just because they would be curious because he sent the message with an emergency priority.
“Thank you,” a crisp voice said from behind him. His parents has sunk in and now everyone was staring at the couple. His father Oberon stood just over six feet with a square, brown face, green eyes, and shoulder length brown hair. He also had quite a bit of muscle but nothing like Zeke or even Julius. His mother, Orchidea, stood elegantly. She was a bit over seven feet tall, with an ivory diamond face, dark silver eyes, medium Elven ears, that were four fingers from head, and long, black hair. He moved towards them letting them look at the map. “More than thank you… now we should be able to save the harvest. Othniel said you were amazing but this…” She looked up from the map to see a black, Feline Drake flapping before her while the lovely woman with sad light violet eyes just smiled at them.
“How long have the fields and chickens been without care?” Delta wondered, his voice now more adolescent sounding. “Your hair is lovely, by the way.”
“So is your shiny fur,” she responded, wiggling her Elven ears. “We ran out of soul crystals five months ago. We were only able to get one to power the barrier creator around Whitesands Inlet. We have a large skiff that has a barrier creator on it that we used to take farmers back and forth until its crystal shattered. We don’t have an Adventuring Party that stays. We have a lot of adventurers, but they come and go with the ships or Templars.”
Londra had stopped shaking so she was leaning against the back wall holding Mara and Alden’s hands. Theda took this opportunity to fly over. “That is why there are healthy chickens. You sneak out to feed them. Question, chicken men, do you know how to butcher them, and can it be done before we leave?”
“They are delicious,” Orchidea agreed. “Jordon, could you honor that request? I am sure they will be here for at least two hours.”
“Of course, my Lady but my cart is full,” a large man next to Zeke started.
“Not a problem,” Zeke stated. “Calla, Julius, and I will go with you. No need for all of us to go show them how the sigils work.”
“Please,” Londra whispered before sighing. “Thank you Zeke. Seriously, I will take Mara and Alden with me, the rest of you are free to look around. After all, you did all the fighting. Just be careful of anyone with a pin of a rose. I gave you the antidote… well actually everyone here, but… they are cruel,” she projected to her team since her voice wasn’t steady.
“Thanks again,” Lord Oberon said clearly. “Please look around. I know that Londra has business with our slave trader. We will treat you to lunch before you go. Rosalies has the biggest tables and will be a great place for your group. I assume between twelve-thirty and one?” He noticed Londra nod and could feel her thanking him through her tear stained eyes. She wanted to put this behind her and he understood that.
“Sounds good,” Fenten stated, looking over at Londra. He wanted to hug her but knew that would just make her start crying again. Later he would. “Sasha and I will take Alex. Lord Oberon, do you know if our new member is at the slave traders yet? She was a good friend of Alex, and we could take him there.”
“Oh, I would love that,” Alex whispered, taking Sasha’s hand for a moment.
“Yes, I do believe she is. She is also with her masters… really great couple,” Lord Oberon answered. “She will be missed but if she is back with friends… that will be great.”
“Giles!” Lady Orchidea started. “Prepare the skiff. No need to take a bunch of carts.” She stopped since the Elf that had been with Londra stood and walked towards her. Her leader’s smile didn’t falter until he handed her two soul crystals.
“They are for you,” Londra said, glad her voice was almost steady. She smiled since both Delta and Theda jumped into Alden’s arms. He brought them back as he returned to her. “Use them how you will. The magic sigils will keep the areas safe if they are refilled.”
Lady Orchidea blinked back the moisture in her dark silver eyes. She handed Giles one of the crystals while storing the other in her vault. “Archduke Dristan said you were all generous but this… he stopped by to let us know about the other and… wow.”
Lord Oberon came over to rub his wife’s back nodding in agreement. “We should be ready in five minutes. All those going are already on their way. Will that be alright with you?”
“Yes,” Londra responded. With that everyone busied themselves and she took a moment to pet Theda and Delta. “I remember… maybe eighty percent of both of my past lives. But I still can’t remember my family’s names. At least I know now that they didn’t want me to go and that they tried so hard to protect me. I can see my sister’s face but…”
“It will come,” Mara said relaxing against the wall. “I am glad. I too wondered what kind of people would leave their daughter in a foreign continent without any support.”
“Hey!” Delta and Theda yelled. Mara smiled, petting them both.
“Fine,” Theda grumbled. “We weren’t supportive then, but we are now!”
“You certainly are,” Londra said with so much emotion.
“No more tears,” Alden said to them. “Breathe and I promise after we get back, I will put the six of you to sleep one way or another. You will need sleep to help finish processing all those memories.”
“Thanks,” Londra sighed. “I am glad that Fenten thought about taking Alex to be with Ryan. It will help them both… I hope. I wonder what the teleportation spell took from her?”
“We will find out when we get there,” Delta said seriously. “Now I am done being serious,” he said letting his voice go back to normal. “I am glad that you know about your family. We have been giving Alpha extra power so he can communicate with Cecile, our sister back home. Thus, we know it is strange there and they would have come if they could.” Londra nodded, motioning that the skiff was ready. It reminded her of a semi with an empty flat bed, interesting memory. But the flat bed was padded with clear sides and a clear roof. “That must be to see what is coming at you,” Delta added, as if reading her mind. She took Delta, while Mara snuggled with Theda.
A sea of people came through the doors all at once. Lord Oberon simply motioned them to the large skiff. He waited until they were all on, then motioned to Londra. They entered next followed by his family. They were all going out to see these sigils.
Lady Orchidea sat next to her, unfazed by sitting on the padded floor, while Alden was behind, and Mara was on the other side of her. The sisters decided to sit near Mara in hopes of petting Theda. “May I ask about the sigils?” Lady Orchidea started hearing her husband clear his throat. She just waved her hand at him while rolling her dark silver eyes watching him sigh.
“Sure, it will help actually,” Londra said stroking Delta. With a partial smile she noticed the black hair collecting on her legs and used magic to take it away. “They are about the size of your foot and contain several weaved spells. We have a spell crafter… well the whole team is quite wonderful. Anyways, the outside edge is the gauge that tells you how full it is. It glows brighter when it is full. You just think, ‘I want to give twenty percent of my magical energy.’ Then touch the sigil and it will take that much magical energy from you. Of course, it may not be equal to the sigil, but it will not take more than you offer. Simple.”
“I can’t wait to see this!” Lady Orchidea smiled, her medium sized, Elven ears wiggling in delight. “Did you hear that, Henrietta.”
“I did my Lady,” a female not too far from the group responded. “I too can’t wait to see these spells. You have map of where they are, right?”
“Yes, Othniel copied it into all of our Lacramas,” Lady Orchidea stated, looking at her son.
“Mara,” Onna started looking at Theda with glowing dark grey eyes full of wanting.
“You may,” Theda stated but didn’t move. Onna smiled while slowly petting Theda.
“Are you a Demon?” Ochiai asked simply. Her green eyes studying Mara with curiosity while her ivory, diamond face remained neutral. “I don’t mean to be blunt… anyways you are beautiful.”
“Yes,” Mara said smiling, letting the violet undertones in her ivory skin darken. She brought out her thin, violet-navy horns and rearranged her blue-black hair since it was only braided loosely. Ochiai’s eyes grew but her face didn’t change. Then Mara felt something in the air. “Have you ever seen M-Ms?”
“No,” Ochiai replied reaching over the touch Theda studying Mara’s horns and hair.
“I feel the change as well,” Lady Orchidea sighed. A bit of worry crept into her ivory, diamond face and dark silver eyes. With a nervous hand she smoothed back her long, black hair behind her medium Elven ears. “Yet Londra looks happy.”
Testing“She wants to test a spell,” Mara answered, using her navy-blue Demon eyes she surveyed the dome of protection around the chicken farm. “It looks like fifty… I see two females. They are all under five feet tall… a few are black. I will go get my sleepy human with the two flirters. It looks like a few are going to come to say hello. Alden?”
Alden nodded, “Alex never made it so I will bring him with Sasha and Fenten. They had a rose problem. Be back soon. Don’t fight, your motor skills are severely lacking. Let our Feline Drakes fight if you can't wait for us to come back.”
“What a nice thing to say… again,” Londra sighed as they both disappeared. “Lord Oberon, just keep driving. They may latch on, but the other barrier will just pull them off.”
“I will relay that,” he said, standing to move across the skiff to knock on the small window to the cab. He waited there, not that he didn’t believe what she said but he wanted to see. Sure enough, a small group that appeared to be around four feet tall rushed the skiff. They jumped on, pounding on the barrier as if they could break it. The random chatter stopped as terrified silence took over. There was only eight yet… the creatures were not enjoyable to look at through the clear sides and top. None were green… they had wrinkly yellow, dark red, or dark blue skin. They had round faces, with long, pointed ears which were also wrinkled in a way that made the creatures appear vicious. Their eyes were an eerie yellow just like their canine teeth, and long, sharp nails from their four fingered hands that dripped a green poison. A leather cloth was all that covered their male parts. There was no hair on their heads. He was sure if the cab wasn’t there to hold him up his knees would have given out. He wondered if there was any color left in his brown, square face because he could feel the moisture leaving his green eyes.
“They don’t have nipples,” Onna whispered, fisting her ivory hands to find courage. “Is that why they are saying such horrible things about them? They are far scarier than I ever thought. I want to cry but don’t know why exactly. I will not though…”
“It will be fine,” Londra assured them, moving to rub the girls' arms using just a bit of magic to calm them down. She watched as everyone held their breath while the skiff passed through the barrier to the chicken farm. The eight were tossed off but that didn’t stop their vile words as they began to crawl up the dome with others. Londra stood, “I know this is scary but just breath. Is there anyone here that can do a level eight or higher holy spell?”
Lady Orchidea waited but looked directly at Londra signaling that she could. Her eyes passed to others, but she knew that unless they volunteered the spell wouldn’t be pure. It surprised and delighted her when Ochiai raised her hand, “I can. Where do I need to focus it? I can do higher if you want.” At that moment the barrier machine was powered down so she didn't have to get off the skiff while her father leaned against the cab.
“No level eight will be perfect,” Theda purred, rubbing his body against Ochiai. “That still gives us some to play with. We like playing.”
“He is right, and it just needs to be directed at the barrier. It doesn’t matter if it is done outside or inside,” Londra answered. “The others will be here soon to purify them. That is what the holy spell is doing while being distributed by the dome spell.”
Ochiai took a deep breath, standing with her hands outstretched. She focused on the part that just let went through. For some reason she believed Londra. Her hands pulsed white then the blast was released. The protective dome glowed white, turning ten of the M-Ms to white ash. Her knees gave out, but it looked like she just sat back down.
“Delta and Theda,” Londra started. “You will have to get the females, and I will have to purify. The others are changing but coming. Yet, I don’t want to give them a chance to reproduce. That is something they don’t need to see.” Theda grew to his tiger size and waited for Londra to place the new spell on his back while Delta let her place the spell on his cat stomach before changing sizes. “Thanks,” she said starting down the stairs. “I am going to gather them.”
Now the audience watched as the different colored, wrinkly creatures, spouting horrible words were collected and trapped in a dome right next to theirs. Two large cats entered the dome, unafraid. Their targets were the two females in the back starting to hatch eggs. Delta snatched and smashed the eggs waiting to see Londra’s Purifying Flame. It was pure so he changed sizes and used his wings to fly around to distract the males. Theda removed the heads of the two females with his magic sword. Londra’s flame was pure so the two of them exited out of the whole Londra created. The male M-Ms began to climb on each other in hopes of reaching that opening, unaware that it was already closed.
“Ready,” Mara said as they appeared from the shadows. “I like the color, it makes it a little less… underwear like,” she added, her eyes traveling over Julius’ body. His nipple strap was light tan, like his skin while his shorts and little socks were maroon. He was smiling at her deep violet outfit in a way that showed just how exhausted yet delighted he was.
“Theda got rid of the females and Delta the eggs, but it was hard to keep the flame pure. Calla and Alden are on purification duty. Now I am going to place the spells on different parts of your bodies. I will be watching and will pull you out if the spell isn’t working right. Please use all your forms and sizes. I promise to wait here,” she added with a smile to Alden. Now she walked through touching them in different places unaware that Lady Orchidea was right there watching the spells with such awe it made Fenten chuckle. The group entered and quickly changed sizes and shapes. Delta and Theda went back in as well. A few were clumsy on purpose to test the healing abilities. Calla and Alden stood just withing the dome letting the brown-green blood reach them with the dripping poison. They watched as it ran off just a bit faster than normal.
“What was that spell?” Lady Orchidea wondered, glancing to see others finding their legs and venturing off from the skiff. Oberon gave her a big smile telling her that those creatures had done nothing to the generator.
“It is complicated,” Londra answered without looking away at the battle. Every drop of brown-green blood she watched. They were doing everything to test the spell, knowing she would pull them out and heal them if anything went wrong. “The brown-green blood coats the skin and burns… like flame beetle’s bites. Their nails, teeth, and weapons are coated with poison that attacks the muscles and prevents bleeding. Thus, the muscles are injured more severely. This spell causes the poison to be pushed out and nullified, then the wound healed. We used an area wide spell before but wanted to try individual for many reasons. It also makes the skin impenetrable to the blood, so it just flows off. The reason they are wearing so little is because the spell is designed to protect skin, thus it must be shown. They are wearing Demon Spider Silk which the spell considers skin. They are actually taking their time; we usually move faster…”
“Amazing,” Lady Orchidea mumbled watching as her husband came up beside her. “Fenten’s wings are beautiful, and Mara… what a lovely Demon.”
“Did you see Sasha’s snake tail,” Onna started. “It shimmers. I want to call it pretty, but it is a snake’s tail, yet… confusing. No, it is pretty.”
“I didn’t know Feline Drakes could be so many different sizes,” Ochiai commented absently. “The black one… Delta, his lovely wing was sliced but it healed after a roar of frustration.”
“Julius is fighting with his eyes closes, as is Alex,” Othniel observed. “Is there a reason?”
“Yea, the short version is we were tricked into taking on a high-level M-M camp and there was a sleeping curse that was inflicted on us all. Three were immune, while most of the others evolved to enhanced, thus the evolution process cleansed them. Leaving six of us with nightmares, unable to sleep. We have a few leads on how to negate the curse, but we must wait for those family members to be awake and able to speak freely.”
“Demons evolve?” Onna wondered softly. “Did she become more beautiful…?”
“It isn’t physical as much as their magic evolves. Yet, if you ask Julius, she did become more beautiful,” Londra answered with a smile. “That, and they are not bound by time anymore. You see those that can shift their appearance to humans are thought to already be evolved, but until their magic does, they must adhere to specific rules for their race. Take Mara, before she had to have her wings out and in every day for four hours total, while also being required to have her horns out and in, plus she couldn’t use her Demon eyes for eight hours a day. If they can’t find the time to do such thing it causes pain and can damage the wings, horns, or eyes permanently.”
“I almost forgot about that,” Lady Orchidea mumbled, her medium-sized Elven ears nodding. “They are almost done… no they are done. I was terrified,” she admitted knowing those that came were listening. “I guess knowledge does help make everything run smoother. That is why we must always be open to learning something new.”
“Exactly,” Londra smiled. “I am going to help them wash then I will be over to show you how to work the sigils. Be right back,” with that she slowly walked out of the barrier towards her laughing group. Gentle warm water was washing off any remaining blood while a circle under their feet absorbed and purified it.
“I could have done that,” Calla commented, her light violet eyes looking at Londra with worry. “I can tell you didn’t enjoy watching. The spell worked perfectly. Actually, I think the healing went faster. Oh, Zeke and Fenten have soul crystals…”
Londra chuckled, “of course they do. The color is a nice touch. Sasha, that jump was spectacular and your scale are so lovely… oh, what was I talking about?”
“It worked great!” Zeke stated with a glow in his golden eyes. He, like the others, was trying not to look or act worried about Londra. “Look at everyone admiring my muscles!”
“Alex, any problems with your right arm?” Londra wondered as they started to walk back towards the chicken farm.
“No, just keeping focus,” Alex admitted. “Those damn… tried to steal Sasha, not that they could but it was enough it keep us from getting to the slave trader. I can still go with you and Alden, right? I want to see Ryan…”
“Yes, right after I show them how to work the sigils,” Londra smiled, wishing Alden would put a shirt on. Her sleepy mind couldn’t stop looking at all that beige skin covering his toned muscles. Add the blue shorts that just made everything… She turned around quickly causing the others to snicker. She noticed that there was already a group around the two nearest sigils.
“Londra,” Lady Orchidea started. “These are amazing! If you show us, we can spread the word. This one… the rain one, is still full. It will rain again in two hours? Am I reading that right. Oh, it has been so long since my mind has been stretched so wonderfully!”
Londra nodded. “You are right,” she started bending down to touch the barrier sigil. She released fifty percent of the power so those around could watch the line on the outside fade. Onna wasted no time placing her hand on the sigil. The line went up slightly.
“I didn’t think twenty percent would move it much, but I was hoping for more,” Onna admitted. “That was easy, we got this. We can just use the skiff since it is protected. We will do what we need to do then leave. Amazing! You can go back with them, and I hope you can sleep soon!”
“My daughter said it best,” Lord Oberon nodded with a large smile on his square face. “That was amazing and I am glad to have you all on our side. Don’t forget about lunch!”
“We won’t,” Londra responded. “Thanks.” With that their team was gone and they reappeared dressed. “You guys just showed off in the best of ways. Theda, are you coming?” She held out her hands for Delta to jump into them.
“Nope, staying to help keep Julius awake,” Theda decided, jumping into his arms while Mara shrunk down to the same height with her arm around him, pulling her horns and wings inside. Julius just smiled as the group headed down the street.
“See you at lunch,” Fenten agreed, giving her a hug before taking Sasha’s hand. Zeke waved, not trusting his voice since she looked horrible, while taking Calla’s hand.
