Epic fail

Karaza woke up near a massive garlic plush with cowboy boots and sunglasses. The windowsill on her right overflowing with plants, almost blocking the rest of the room. Except for a small table in the middle where Roxy was eating.

"Yello!"

She read the other's lips, aided with knowing her talking habits.

Complete silence washed over her surroundings.

The vibrations of a thud on the floor traveled to her skin when the invisible blob crashed on his landing, almost hitting a plant.

"Why the rush?" Roxy asked the morphing creature.

"Gotta make sure he doesn't know." He stood up, couple tendrils still waving in the air.

"I don't think your big bro will disown you for being a blob, my glorious blob!"

She stitched information from their conversation, head heavy with sleep, whole body aching.

"For how long I've been sleeping?" She sat down, dizziness followed.

"Aaa, a day? The shock wave hit us about this time yesterday." Roxy supplied.

"What happened with that?" She rubbed her heavy eyes.

They waited until her eyes were open again.

"You obliterated it..." Ryu told with worry.

"Did you forget?" Roxy asked.

"Yeah, no. I remembered now. Well sorry for intruding I guess..." She stood up, regaining more balance with each step.

They looked at each other as she left.

"Will she be okay?" Ryu asked.

Roxy stared the closed door.

Karaza sat on the pavement of a busy street. The vitamin quenchy kicked in, memories and thoughts rose to the surface of her mind, for better or for worse.

'I'm not strong enough to do what I should do.' She hunched over herself.

A tall shadow stood before her, shading her from the blazing sun. A certain someone in a brown suit and high heels. The sophistication of the attire clashed and merged with the magic lantern neckless and the colorful earrings. Organized chaos that summed her up.

"Care to make a deal?" Roxanne tilted her head with an ambiguous smile.

"Books couldn't entertain you for long, huh?" Karaza sighed.

"They are, I just need a breather." She stretched her arms. Karaza fidgeted with her fingers, looking at the ground and ensuing a knowing silence between them.

"Let's take a detour?" Roxy suggested.

They walked to an old, almost abandoned park. Creaky benches, overgrown clover and many big old trees. The human was too tried to locate were she was exactly. She eyed the parasite sitting down on the ground, looking up to her as she sat on the bench.

"So?" Karaza raised an eyebrow.

"Wanna make a deal?" Roxanne smiled innocently.

"No."

"Eh, you're no fun." She looked up with feigned disappointment, only to look at her again with a confident smile.

"It's just you and me so let's be frank with each other. You sealed a love monster near my Karabora. I don't care for the story because I can retell it without knowing the opening line.."She paused briefly upon the pale face of the other.

"But the love monster sealed you too, or a part of your power at least." She stared her neck.

"I get it, you know everything!" Karaza gritted her teeth which didn't phase Roxanne.

"To be honest it would be so fun to try and dig up your closet. How feral you'll get. It's gonna be a fight for the ages!" The parasite smile got fainter, disjointed pupils appeared.

Karaza was looking downward, at an insignificant virus that can render her a corpse.

"But don't worry, that can wait or better yet. I can clean out your closet and unseal you." She tilted her head, amused by the echo of her words.

"And what's you're gaining from that? Aside from our glorious fight?"

"Info, I could use one or three about the love monsters you found."

"I don't wanna talk about it."

"Doesn't have to be now, five?Ten years? Take your time. I have time."

"You gonna look so dump if I died early."

Roxy didn't entertain her sarcasm, she just watched as the human looked for her pipe. Giving it to her after she fumbled her pockets throughly.

"Why you need information anyway?"

"Self preservation." It was a simple, non dramatic answer.

"And I know something you don't?"

"Oh don't be too humble. No human can fight, let alone seal a love monster, no matter how strong they're. Honestly it's beyond impressive, you living most you're life if the wild, still alive after twenty five years."

"Self preservation, you have a feud with a love monster?" She changed the subject with a feigned disappointed sigh.

"Yeah, one of them figured out my main weakness." She laid on the clover with a pout, legs still crossed.

"And what is it?" Karaza joked.

"It's a chemical that dissolve my flesh, it made me unable to attach to a corpse and control it."

"Whoa, you're telling me for real?!"

"Avocados contain a small amount of the chemical and it can kill me."

"Avocados can kill YOU?"

"Bit sad innit?"

Ryu was walking near their apartment building when he saw his roomie and her arch nemesis. The human put her arm around Roxy's shoulder with the most shady look on her face.

"You and I get on the wrong foot sometimes, why not have a friendly lunch together? I found a great restaurant, they serve the best guacamole, fresh out the molcajete."

"...Okay!"

Ryu snatched her away in a protective gesture.

"What are you doing? She's plotting your murder!"

"But...Food...Free." She sulked.

"..We're not that broke!"

"I am."

"Then take some money out of you're investment fund!"

"No! I must collect profit!"

He trapped her in his arms while looking at Karaza cautiously.

"...Wanna pumpkin seeds baguette?" Karaza offered.

The two bozos walked with her like lamps.

The restaurant owner thanked Roxy for recommending her for a catering job.

"Just got certified as 'allergy safe' Tell me what you think!"

Karaza clicked her tongue internally as the owner put a non green guacamole on the table.

In irritation she took the tortillas away from Ryu and gave a plate of vegetables and meat instead.

"My pumpkin seed tortillas!"

"Eat other foods for change, your brother whine about you!"

The mention of the guy recalled the events of the past night.

"He's all right isn't he?" Ryu's stiff expression made her ask, as far as she knew he just in a shocked state.

"He is, he woke up, had something to eat and went to sleep. I called the hospital too." Ryu pressed his lips, a little shaken.

They ate in silence, like a three students that just got yelled at by their teacher.

"A funny thing would be appreciated." Karaza said.

"My last translation got one sale only." Roxy told.

"I'm getting expelled after this semester." Ryu told.

"I feel better about myself, thanks."

"Are we losers?" Ryu asked.

"What? No! It's just the seasonal epic fail. It'll go away! Trust me!"

"I'll hold you to that." The two said in unison.
