"Subaru, if you broke my MH unit..."
"This is strange, it is like the feed itself has some sort of corruptive element."
"I don't care what it did, fix it."
"Very well. I shall now perform...a Hard Reset." With a Roundhouse kick, Subaru struck a tower with several rotating large tapes.

Missy's voice hummed back through the speaker.
"I'm sorry Watanabe- Sama, I don't know what came over me."
“Missy, replay."
"Sorry, Subaru-san, I cant."
Subaru almost shouted. "Mitsuki Haiku Orange E5-1795 Look at my Admin Crystal when I speak, and obey my instru-" The Avatar became transfixed to the object in Subaru's hand as he adjusted a wheel on his eyepiece.
"Mr Subaru, if the video causes corruption, I don't want to see it."
"This is a info-quarantined environmentment, no problems will bleed into the rest of the building."
"Use your own Haiku or I'll bill you for damages."
"You asked my assistance? Now you spurn me." Subaru and Kente locked glances at each other. As a technician now thrice passed over for management positions, Subaru was hesitant to replace the screen with "a look under the hood." Still in his 387 Email interchanges with Kente on both corporate and private servers, Kente and Missy had proven themselves amenable to him, and possibly, his only ticket up the chain. He relented.
"Very well. Close the recorded feed. I hope you have your Lexicon handy Kente-San."
"No need, I trust you are capable, Subaru." Subaru perked up at the implied compliment."
"Missy! Enter E-Temmu Diagnostic Map Mode. I want a status report of all E-Temu access equipment within the Two Sisters Street and Smooth Jams Café area. 10 seconds before the incident.”
A map filled with sigils and cartouches appeared. A Clay tablet etched in Green Pixels. Most bore the same:
𒂊 𒁁 𒌅
“These symbols indicate dormant units,” Subaru explained.
“Why are so many clustered near the box?” Anh asked looking As the box struck the truck, several symbols changed state.
𒍝 𒈾 𒉡
“Oh, I recognize that one, it means malfunction." Anh beamed from the hopes that someone noticed that she actually read the manual of her Haiku.
"Close Anh, zananu means closer to "something has over overwhelmed me. The one over there means "'I can not hear,' its closer to malfuncti - Oh dear,”
Like a plague, every second infected more dormant nodes across the map to distressed. It spread from the minor nodes to The Haiku units."
"It seems the Haiku units are the last to fall, but when they do, they immediately corrupt others. Look, Anh there is yours being flung."
Anh watched as a 𒍝 𒈾 𒉡 glyph distressed moved up the map, spreading its symbol.
“It appears that box contains something capable of disrupting technology.”
“You’re saying it infected the systems?” Kente asked.
“Yes. An anti-noospheric field. It awakened and disrupted dormant noospheric entities within the vehicles.”
"The trucks and cars?” Ann asked.
“That has to be terrorism, Kente-San. This was not an accident,”
"I told you all, It was planned!"
“You said it was a heist! A heist that disrupts an entire city bloc's entire Noospheric Network? Including hidden and dorman nodes? No! This is more than a heist. This was a renegade actor.”
Something domant clicked in Anh's head as Kente and Subaru's coversation. “Dormant? Noospheric? Wait NEAT tech is illegal for Saigon Personel.” The spell of boredom was dismissed, anger was in her voice.
“All Saito vehicles contain NEAT tech,” Subaru dismissed the concern as if it was childish. “Modified, dormant. We cannot operate efficiently without it.”
“I was told—”
“Missy, compile a list of all individuals with access to neat devices.”
The list printed, and Subaru grabbed the printout with a flourish.
“Any gang affiliations?” Kente asked. “Ann, you mentioned a lotus symbol with a bomb?”
“Yes, but—”
“Ah,” Subaru said. “The symbol of Duc Phat Manh.”
Anne laughed at him. “You can’t be serious!”
“Many wearing the same symbol is suspicious, wouldn't you say?”
"I would say, Duc Phat Manh is Vietnam's Buddhist sage, you are indicting the entire Buddhist population of the city.”
"So?"
"Everyone has heard of him, even I have a few books by him, my Uncle is a monk, he gave them to me..."
"If they are responsible, then they should be, or did you forget that, Anh Tran Trung."
Kente turned to Subaru.
“We need another lead.”
"Missy cross reference list of device owners with Saigon Magistrate's Person's of Interest List." "We have access to that?"
"We run their database, Anh. Ah. Here. Ohh.”
"Who?"
"Natsels..."
“The Natural Selectors,” Missy explained, while showing surveillance footage and mugshots of various Vietnamese and western figures in trench coats, t-shirts, and baseball caps. Kente recognized them, they had different names in Manilla, but the premise was the same.
"Anarchists."
“Not quite, Neo-Luddites who learn technology in order to destroy it. They’ve infiltrated warehouses and attempted hacks on Saito labs. I stopped them.”
He looked at Ann.
“You’re welcome, by the way.”
"What did they try to do?"
"They tried to break into Procurements so that Mituki Haiku androids would sell themselves for a dollar."
"When was this?"
"Two weeks ago, they called it operation night lady." Managed to get a few parts and vocoders before I got them.
"But wait, if they are anarchists...that doesn't make sense, the person I saw had a catholic icon on his chest."
"The Natural Selectors wear any ideology they want, so long as its useful, or they think its funny."
"Anh, did didn't you say the woman spoke like a Mitsuki Haiku?"
Anh looked at Kente then at missy, she nodded slowly like she wasn't convinced, but didn't have anything better.
“Then That’s our lead,” Kente said. “Where are they?”
Subaru typed coordinates into the Mitsuki Haiku.
“No need to search that. I know exactly where they are. They have been on my short list for quite some time. I will give you the location of an internet café in District Four they run. One condition."
"And That is?"
"Allow me to come with you, I have a personal score to settle with "Big Phan.”
"Mr Kente," Anh asked, "Before we go, can we go home please, I need to change."
Kente was about to suggest that she could arrange for a cab, when he saw a look from her that was a mixture of stifled anxiety fighting against rage. She put her hand as if fixing her bangs but an attempt to block the view of Subaru.
"I'll arrange a company car for you to drive."
