Back to the "Tea and Sympathy"

As they were walking on the road beside the river Ryosuke spoke.

"Also i deeply apologise for yesterday Ryota, we merely meant to show you the truth about what we do but you got in danger, I'm sorry"

"It's okay Ryosuke, i understand that the situation got out of control it wasn't your fault" Ryota told him calmly with no hard feelings

"Thank you Ryota"

After a while they arrived of outside the café "Tea and Sympathy". They walked inside, like yesterday they were few people sitting in the tables and some sitting on the bar. Behind the bar was Nobuyuki shaking drinks. When Nobuyuki saw them enter he waved happily to Ryota.

"Back so soon, I'm happy to see you again Mr. Endo"

"Ah me too Mr. Nobuyuki" he said Ryota returning the waving

Takashi who was just serving two plates of warm Kyoto soba on a table approach them. He look at Ryota calmly and bow his head politely.

"Nice to see you again Mr. Endo, i don't believe we introduced to each other properly, my name is Takashi  Kubo" 

"Ah, nice to meet you Mr. Kubo" Ryota replied his hand politely

Takashi shake his hand calmly

"Please if you will be so kind to follow me Mr. Endo, Miss Fukunaga is expecting you upstairs"

Takashi escorted the group upstairs, they pass the tables and stand in frond of wooden door with a label which was written on 'Manager'. Takashi knocked the door calmly.

"Miss Fukunaga they came back"

"Please enter" 

Takashi opened the door and make way for Ryota and the others to pass. Ryota walks inside into a vintage style office with some beautiful small paintings hanging on the wall. Beside the office where wide windows for natural lighting and behind Masami were large bookshelves. In front of Masami desk was a square table and two black short couches. Masami was sitting on red cosy chair and on her desk, next to a notary lamp bronze with green glass, was sitting Nyoka taking a nap.

"Good evening Ryota, i'm so glad i see that you're alright" Masami stands up and approach Ryota

"Ah, yes I'm okay thanks to Ryosuke and Sayaka" Ryota said to her

"Good good, neither didn't expect that the dangalaks we will attack you in team, they don't usually act in groups you see"

"Well i see...that explains..everything..hehe" Ryota comments nervously 

"Please sit down" 

Ryota sit to one couch and Ryosuke and Sayaka to the other across him. Masami sat back to her desk and Takashi stood beside her.

"So i believe you have a lot of questions Ryota dearie, and we have a lot to tell you, but please tell us, what do you want to know first ?" Masami asked Ryota while she pet Nyoka's head

"First of all what is this organization, this SA..ehm.. ESA ?"

"SAEA... it's a very old organization which was founded centuries ago. During the Old Age, Exorcists and Sorcerers were completely cut off with each other, with the one group focused on the art of magic and the other one was focused on rituals against evil spirits. That age, the Daimyō of Kyoto blinded by his hunger for more power and wealth he committed a satanic ritual to summon the Archdemon Haborym with the hope to be granted his wishes. Haborym promised to grant all of his wishes and in return, when Daimyō died, he would be set free. The foolish Daimyō accepted immediately without thinking the destruction he will be brought to Kyoto. After the death Daimyō, Haborym unleashed his legions to set all cities and crops on fire and destroy the humankind . For 100 years  Kyoto was under fear and death until some of our ancestors decided for a first time at the Old Age an alliance between Exorcists and Sorcerers with the hope to annihilate Haborym. United together they killed Haborym and brought his age of terror to an end. After that glorious success the humankind decided to create a secret organization to fight against demons and so that's how SAEA was created. Even in modern age we're still fighting the demons."

"But after Haborym was destroyed, didn't all of his demons destroyed too ?" Ryota asked her

"Haborym ruled over twenty-six legions of demons, after Haborym defeat many of those demon  went hiding until they could regain their own strength back" Ryosuke explained

"And why can't no one see demons anymore? For example me, why I until yesterday couldn't see any demons before?"

"During the time of their hiding, demons created a secret art named Apókrypsis which they deployed to the whole humankind for the future generations, that art was to hide their presence from human eyesight. Considering the fact that demons were already spirits was pretty easy to create such an art, and also the fact that people forget easily made the situation easier for them. Nowadays only members from SAEA can see and locate demons" Masami explained to him

"As for why you could see the dangalaks yesterday was because of Sayaka, she's a sorcerer and non-sorcerers can spot demons when she's close to them." Ryosuke said while pointing to Sayaka

"So if you all are members of SAEA, that makes you...?" 

"I am a sorcerer like Sayaka, and Ryosuke and Takashi are Exorcists, Nobuyuki is also an Sorcerer too" Masami explained to him

"Okay all these, by why you want me to join your organisation, last i checked I'm not an expert on neither sorcery nor exorcism" Ryota asked them curious

"Like i told you yesterday you have humility" Masami told him 

"Again with that, i thought you were messing with me, why demons don't like humility." asked her confused

"It's because it's a unknown and a very unwanted feeling for demons, demons control people based on their selfishness and greed, for them a human who has humility it's a very dangerous threat because demons can't harm people who put other people's needs above them."

"How can demons harm people anyway, you said they were spirits, that means they can't touch us"

"That may be true, but they can cause people various situations or feelings so they can lure them to their side, for example that dangalaks from yesterday were messing with that power pole to cause distress and anger to the people who lived there" Ryosuke said to him

"Demons are feeding by people's negative emotions and actions, if someone is jealous of his girlfriend, if a person steals, if a boss mistreats his employees all these actions cause negative emotions to people and the demons are feeding by them and then they grow stronger" Masami continued to explain

"And what happens if they grew stronger"

Masami look at him with a cold look on her eyes

"When they have enough power, then they can harm people physically and destroy whole cities by turning them into places made by fire and death."
