Chapter 11:
Monday Morning God
When God’s eye turned towards earth, the first thing it noticed was that there was indeed life present. God decided to take a closer look. The picture was a bit blurry, so it borrowed the legs, arms, and eyes of the man laying on the ground next to the god.
Now that it had a better view, it recognized the god as ⏹⏹⏹⏹⏹⏹. It tried to borrow some of its teeth, but they held fast.
No matter. Now that it had some legs, it was able to move towards a nearby building. After searching for a bit, it found that no one was inside. God’s eye felt a prickling sensation in its legs. It turned to see what the matter was. The god, ⏹⏹⏹⏹⏹⏹, was using a sharp object to try and harm it. It gave ⏹⏹⏹⏹⏹⏹ a little kick with one of its legs.
It didn’t take long to find some more humans. They were all clustered in a single building, eating some other organic life. It took some more legs and eyes so it would move and see better. Strangely, the humans seemed to walk with their legs, instead of fly. God’s eye thought of trying this new method of locomotion, but decided that its method was more practical. It could also easily outmaneuver humans this way.
Now that it could see better, it noticed a human moving rapidly towards it. Unlike the other, it seemed to be supported by a metal exoskeleton. God’s eye snapped it in half and peered inside. The body’s composition was definitely organic outside of the exoskeleton. There seemed to be rings of a different animal’s skin tying the two together.
God’s eye moved on, making sure to take some of the human/metal hybrid’s fingers, so it didn’t go to waste.

Em and Isaac on opposite sides of the bed. The TV was on. A news reporter droned on about the unprecedented nature of the situation and its links to the Ito incident. Everyone knew exactly what had happened. There wasn’t much to say.
“I’m a pretty big piece of shit, aren’t I?”
Em held her head as tears fell onto her lap.
“If we get a plane to the US we should have at least one more day, Isaac”
“If I kill that god, we can have a lot more than that”
“I want one day”
Isaac laid back on the bed and looked up at the ceiling.
“Jack is dead, and I’m gonna bet that anyone else who tries to get close to that thing will die too. As far as I can tell, Jesse got caught in that initial attack. I haven’t seen him since. With all that being said, the situation is pretty hopeless”
There was a long pause.
“However, if I try and use-”
“Don’t”
“Okay, but seriously, if I borrow some of your guns, I’m sure I could take out-”
“Why can’t you listen to me this one time?”
“I should have all the other times, but not today”
Em laid down on the bed, her head right next to Isaac’s. Her mouth remained shut. For 15 straight minutes, neither spoke.
“I think I should get going”

When Scarlet awoke, the phone was ringing as Zaza ran out the door, dragging a suitcase behind her.
Yoshi untangled herself from her mother’s arms and scurried over the phone.
“Hi! Who is it?”
Scarlet fell off the couch and reached towards Yoshi, who quickly handed her the phone. It was Jesse.
“Hey, sorry about that, we’re working on-”
“Where are you?” Jesse croaked. He sounded like he had just eaten a box of nails.
“I’m uh, still at that hotel. I think Zaza just left”
“Get a plane to Brazil”
“I’m sorry?”
“I said get a plane to Brazil. Buy a ticket, I can even call the-”
“No, I mean, why are we going to Brazil?”
“That’s not for you to worry about. This is serious, I don’t have time to explain it to you like a fucking child”
“But I don’t even know Brazilian!”
“It’s called Portuguese, you dumb fuck. God, will you please just do what I say? I’m trying to help you here”
The phone fell to the floor. A stream of curses flew from the speaker, leading Scarlet to cover Yoshi’s ears.
“Hang up, Jesse! Hang up!” She screeched. Jesse hung up. Yoshi started to cry. God’s eye entered Yanaka.

Zaza burst through the door and nearly avoided being hit by a flock of eyes. She resisted the urge to look up towards the sky. A sound pierced her ears, something between laugh, scream, or whine.
All she needed was to get back to Scarlet’s house. A car would do, although the roads might be blocked. Public transportation was shut down across the nation.
Zaza stepped on something soft. Her gaze did not waver. The sap would fix everything.

6 hours after the appearance of God’s eye, it had grown from the size of a human to over 450 feet long. Nearly one million Japanese civilians perished as a direct result of the eye.
The central “torso” of the eye looked similar to a worm. It was made up entirely of human eyes, all tightly packed together.
Surrounding the torso were rings made of arms and legs. The hands on each arm constantly signed a seemingly random combination of letters: SKARNITSAKCRLIANUGSLE.
Towards the “front” of the eye was a large “head” made out of teeth, hair, and loose bits of flesh. The “head” could open and bite things, much like a large snake. Due to the loose nature of the head, it was able to extend its “jaw” a very large amount.
It opened said jaw and began to inhale.
The death toll reached one million.
