Conflict

(Lucan followed Alaric into a room in the Castle where Cassian and Elowen were already sitting as they looked frantic as Alaric stood on one side of a table with a map on it.)
Alaric: "Lucan, as you now know we have been having some issues with a nearby kingdom. The Kingdom of Lys-Valois heard of our financial unbalance and our issues we have been having internally with lots of bandits and other things attacking villages and due to an old rivalry their King wishes for his son to marry Amelia."
King Cassian: "Except that Bastard will never get my daughter! He dares threaten my kingdom and war if we don't go through with it? If he wants war HE CAN HAVE IT."
Queen Elowen: "Dear calm down! War is not an option for the people or our country we will only lose more money. We must propose the idea to Sir Lucan here."
Lucan: "You wish for me to Marry Princess Amelia to become the new King so their idea of marriage is foiled?"
Alaric: "You're a sharp one aren't you?"
Lucan: "Comes with the job doesn't it?" (King Cassian smirked as he stood up and bowed his head.)
King Cassian: "Please Sir Lucan, I know we are asking you very much since you are not in love with our daughter, but she has such fondness for you and we've tried everything else to save this Kingdom."

Lucan: "Please raise your head Sir, I understand and I also never said I never had any feelings for the Princess. Its complicated as I've known her for such a short amount of time, but are you truly ok with giving up the throne to me?"
King Cassian: "If it means the safety of the people and my kingdom then Yes I am prepared to do anything."
Lucan: "And what of you Queen Elowen? I know you don't approve of me." (Elowen looked shocked as she chuckled.)
Queen Elowen: "It's not that I don't approve of it, I care for my daughter very much and with the way she looks at you I am afraid you'd take her away from me."
Lucan: "I'd never do that, but on the idea of marrying her. I am not against it and would be willing, but do you think that will truly stop it?"
King Cassian: "It will be a start to something that we can overcome and work towards a true end to this conflict. But Sir Lucan are you quite positive you wish to marry the Princess? Being King is a very serious job." (Lucan smiled as he stood up straight and looked the King in the eye.)

Lucan: "It'd be an honor to marry such a wonderful woman such as your daughter and to be King, my job as a Paladin is to protect all no matter the circumstance and what it takes. I will marry the Princess and make her a very happy woman despite not knowing her very long." (Lucan bowed as The King walked over and forced him back up as he hugged him.)
King Cassian: "Thank you son." (The Moment was ruined with sirens sounding as Lucan and Alaric shot out as Alaric ordered guards to Guard the King and Queen as they ran out of the Castle walls and saw smoke in the residential area as they sprinted for it and came upon a dozen fire mages and a Low ranking Captain of Lys-Valois as guards came rushing awaiting commands as they looked towards Lucan.)

Lucan: "MEN, GO OUT AND ATTEMPT TO SUBDUE ALL THE LOWER RANKED ENEMY KNIGHTS AND SOLDIERS AS BEST AS YOU CAN, I WANT MINIMAL CASUALTIES AND WORK TOGETHER IN PAIRS OF TWO. Two of you go and fetch my adventuring party and gather as many warriors as you can, GO NOW!" (Lucan and Alaric drew their swords as two of the mages and two of the higher ranking knights approached them as they engaged in combat with Alaric slicing the two mages down in a singular motion as he engaged the two knights as Lucan had far more trouble as he stabbed one of the mages through the chest and tossed his body at one of the knights as he was hit with a massive fire ball with an explosion.)
Alaric: "SIR LUCAN!" (Lucan slashed through the fire and walked out of it with barely a scrape as he stabbed the mage through the chest and looked at the final knight as he was powering up a slash attack.)
Knight: "ULTIM-" (Lucan shot him with a condensed ball of sun magic as his entire upper body was now nothing but ash with a smirk.)

Alaric: "I had no clue you had magic Sir Lucan."
Lucan: "I'm not very good with it but yes I do, I can utilize Sun Magic."
Alaric: "SUN MAGIC?! Such Rarity."
Lucan: "It's a Blessing." (The two casually talk as they slash through soldiers and knights as Lucan misses a slash and stumbles clumsy as Alaric stabs the man saving him as Lucan then grabs a small axe from a dead soldier and throws it hitting a guy about to shoot Alaric with an arrow as they nod at each other and continue to fight.)
Lucan: "We need to deal with the mages before anything else, they could cause a lot of damage-" (As Lucan said this a house burst into flames as they looked on as he looked at Alaric and Alaric nodded as Lucan sheathed his sword and sprinted across the courtyard covering distance in no time as he burst through the front door with no one on the first level as he sprinted upstairs to an entire family trapped. Lucan lifted lumbar away as he grabbed the mother in father on his back and the two children in his arms as two pillars fall blocking the stairs as he eyes a balcony that he full sprints and leaps from as he lands two stories down and places them down.)

Lucan: "Are you guys alright?"
Father: "Yes thanks to you Sir."
Lucan: "Go seek shelter somewhere else while this goes on, I won't let any harm come to you." (Lucan helped them until they were out of sight as a Mage with light blue long hair wearing blue Robes appeared walking confidently as she appeared and began casting a spell as an entire flood of water splashed over the house and extinguished it as she then formed the water into a whip and began to fight off the fire mages.)
Lucan: "Who are you?"
???: "I am Caspia, Vice Commander of the Sanguis Oros Magic Division."
Lucan: "It's great to meet you, sadly its in such circumstances but I'm glad to have you here."
Caspia: "If you don't mind me saying sir, you give off a very strong aura of magic. How come you don't use it?"
Lucan: "I have no clue how too." (Caspia looked shocked as Lucan slashed through two knights as a Fire mage shot a fire ball at them before Lucan used his body to shield her and then his body absorbed the fire without him even knowing as he slashed the man as Caspia stared in disbelief.)
Caspia: "Sir do you know that you just absorbed that fire into your body?"
Lucan: "I did? I assumed it just didn't affect me since I'm kind of a fire user myself, I assumed it just disappeared on impact."
Caspia: "Interesting." (A Massive explosion was heard from the courtyard of the castle as Lucan's eyes widened as he heard it as he looked at Alaric.)
Alaric: "GO! I'LL CLEAN UP HERE!"

(Lucan dashed and was sprinting at full speed to get to the castle as he was starting to become fatigued from fighting but still had quite a lot in the tank as he got there he Noticed the 3 mages from earlier as well a new larger foe before he heard another explosion but to his surprised the 3 looked terrified as he bounded the hill fully he Spotted King Cassian wielding a Massive war hammer as he was cladded in dark ash colored armor.)
Cassian: "YOU DARE ATTACK MY KINDOM? MY CASTLE?" (Cassian slammed the hammer down where Viktor stood as he narrowly escaped as a crater appeared before he then swung the heavy hammer even quicker at Zardon's head who barely dodged as the armored large knight engaged before the armor around the King flew out.)
Cassian: "ASH MAGIC: ASH STRANGULATION!" (The ash flew into the mans lungs and around his body as simultaneously it crushed his interior and exterior body alike before Cassian dashed and planted the massive war hammer into the knight's chest plate completely destroying it as he spun the hammer around to the spike side and plunged it deep into the man's chest cavity.)
Cassian: "SEE YOU IN HELL YOU FOOL!"

Nevali: "YOU LEFT YOUR BACK OPEN OLD MAN!" (Nevali went in for a slash as Cassian's eyes widened, but suddenly a massive construct of an Iron guillotine appeared and attempted to cut her completely in half as she narrowly is able to straighten and dodge it as the clicking of heels was heard as Queen Elowen emerged from the darkness of the castle drawing a black rose embedded sword as she was angry before dashing forward and clashing with Nevali.)
Elowen: "Your fight is with me!" (Cassian engaged Zardon as Viktor was powering up a massive spell before Lucan dashed towards him and caught him off guard with a massive punch to the face as he was sent flying and collided with the wall as both Zardon and Nevali were shocked as they quickly retreated grabbing Viktor as they vanished over the wall as Lucan grouped up with Cassian and Elowen.)

Lucan: "I apologize I couldn't be here sooner."

King Cassian: "No worries lad, a few weaklings like them can't kill us."
Queen Elowen: "Amateurs shouldn't be trusted with such jobs."
Lucan: "Respectfully you two scare me." (They all laughed as Lucan quickly leaped upon the wall and saw all the battling coming to an end as two groups of knights appeared.)
Lucan: "Go and relieve everyone who was fighting and start the clean up, half of you stay on guard for the citizens and don't let anyone out of their homes until it is all resolved. Escort Alaric back to the castle as he will be tired."
Captain: "Yes sir!" (Lucan hopped down as he still felt something was off as he got a chill down his spine and he quickly sprinted into the castle as he kept down the halls and eventually came to just outside Princess Amelia's room as he barged in and found a slew of dead Assassins as Myra was struggling to stay alive against a final one as he spotted an unconscious Amelia on the ground as he shot a bit of sun magic at Myra as it enveloped her and she began to slowly heal as Lucan marched up and grabbed the remaining Assassin by the throat.)

Lucan: "WHAT DID YOU DO TO THE PRINCESS?"
Assassin: "I'm not telling you shit."
Lucan: "If you brought even a little bit of harm to her I will wipe out THE ENTIRE KINGDOM OF LYS-VALOIS!"
Assassin: "Go to hell." (The Assassin attempted to kill himself with a pill before Lucan forced his way into his mouth and grabbed it tossing it on the ground as the Assassin began to panic.)
Lucan: "You're going to tell me what you did to her NOW."
Assassin: "ALL WE DID WAS GIVE HE A SEDATIVE I PROMISE!"
Lucan: "That's good, now you may resume your death." (Lucan snapped the mans neck as he tossed him aside and checked on Myra.)
Lucan: "Myra are you alright?
Myra: "Yes My Lord I am fine, thanks to you and this unusual magic you put around me."
Lucan: "Thank you for protecting her, I've failed at my job and I am truly sorry."
Myra: "You couldn't of predicted this Lord Lucan, don't beat yourself up about it. You showed up when it matters that's all that counts." (Lucan moved over to Amelia and quickly picked her up and placed her on her bed as Myra straightened nearly fully healed.)
Myra: "I shall fetch doctors and nurses to tend to her."
Lucan: "Don't push yourself, but thank you. Just incase though I would like to bestow this upon you." (Lucan manifested a ball of his aura and shot it at her as it absorbed inside her.)
Lucan: "If you find yourself in trouble, this will explode and harm everyone but you."
Myra: "Thank you." (She quickly ran off as Lucan stayed by Amelia's side as she grasped his hand in her sleep and he sat there waiting as a few minutes later a doctor and many nurses appeared and checked her to find nothing as Lucan sighed.)

Lucan: "Thank you all, you may go now and let her rest." (Many hours passed as Lucan waited for Amelia to awaken when after 5 hours she finally did and slowly sat up and rubbed her head as she looked around and spotted Lucan and became slightly red.)
Amelia: "Wha- What are you doing in here Lucan?"
Lucan: "There was an attack on the capitol as well as you, I was here to make sure it didn't happen again and to comfort you." (Amelia's eyes followed Lucan's as he gazed away as it landed on her hand wrapped around his as she quickly pulled it away.)
Amelia: "I'm sorry, forgive me for my actions."
Lucan: "No need to apologize, there is something we need to speak about Amelia."
Amelia: "What is it?"
Lucan: "Would you want to marry me?" (Amelia stiffened as her face went blank as she processed it.)
Amelia: "Ma- Marry you!? But Why?!
Lucan: "You do not have too, but I was talking to your father and brother and they believe that you being married would be the best course of action to start the end of Lys-Valois's campaign of terror."
Amelia: "I- I Don't know, are you sure that you'd want to marry me Lucan?"
Lucan: "If you're worried about me not loving you, I can't call it love as I've not known you long but I am starting to gain a fondness for you Amelia. We would not have to get married right away, even a Engagement would do just as much."
Amelia: "I would honestly like that Lucan, if you truly mean it." (Lucan got up and got on one knee as he pulled a necklace from under his armor and took it off revealing a ring as he grabbed her hand.)

Lucan: "I'm not very good and I don't know if I'll make a good husband or King but I do know that I want to protect you and if it means becoming your Fiance then I'll do it, if in the future this doesn't workout and you are safe and decide not to go through with the marriage then I will understand." (Lucan slipped the ring on her finger as she started to tear up as she tackled him to the ground and hugged him tight.)
Amelia: "Despite only knowing you for a few days Lucan Vance, I believe you are a great man and I've grown quite a liking to you. I believe this will only grow and I hope we can become closer and fester a true love." (Lucan stood up as he carried her and he gently placed her on the ground as he hugged her and stroked her hair.)
Lucan (Thinking): "I'm never going to hear the end of this from the three buffoons."
Lucan: "I wish to make you happy and as for loving you, I am not one to like to admit it but I have grown a fondness for you that I have for no one else Amelia. I don't know if it can be called love just yet but it is becoming so." (The Two stayed there for a while before exiting the room and making their way to join the rest of the her family and the high ranking officials as Amelia was very evident and couldn't contain her excitement as her family immediately spotted the ring as The King and Alaric came over and slapped Lucan on the back.)

King Cassian: "Thank you lad! I'm so excited to accept you into our family. But if you hurt my daughter I'll murder you."
Alaric: "There is no one better suited to be her Husband."
Lucan: "I don't know about all the praise, I wish to take this slow and allow for this relationship to grow before the wedding day. I do not want her to make a mistake." (Rosalind ran up to Amelia and grabbed her hand to look at the ring as they started to jump all giddy.)
Rosalind: "Sister you're getting married?"
Amelia: "Yes Little sister I am, and I couldn't be happier." (Queen Elowen walked up to Lucan and scanned him as she softened a little bit before patting him on the arm.)
Queen Elowen: "Thank you Lucan, just remember that I'll find you if you hurt her." (Lucan gulped hard at this statement as he scratched the back of his hair and eventually the night wandered on as he and Amelia were sitting on a sofa in her room as she rested her head on his shoulder and held his hand.)

(In the Kingdom of Lys-Valois the Crown Prince was pacing back and forth as he was annoyed at the announcement of the engagement between Princess Amelia and Lucan Vance as he stopped and slammed his fist on the table.)
Florian: "THAT BASTARD IS GOING TO DIE!"
Viktor: "Sir please calm down, this is just to make you angry and for you to retract."
Florian: "They think I'm that easy?"
Nevali: "Clearly you are if you're this worked up over it." (Zardon and Nevali snickered as Florian shot them a glare that didn't stop them before he walked up to Viktor and pointed at him.)
Florian: "We're going to war, get ready to crush that stupid little kingdom." (He marched off as the three knights grinned at each other and disappeared to prepare for the incoming war.)

(The Next evening Lucan and Amelia were walking the trails of the Castle grounds as Lucan was now dawning a embroidered Green shirt with fancy brown pants and boots with a fur lined half cloak over his left shoulder and a brown belt with a small brown satchel with green details on it before they stopped to look at the setting sun.)
Lucan: "You know a month ago I was a nobody and homeless and now I'm engaged to a Beautiful Princess of a far off Kingdom and spending my nights walking the gorgeous grounds of the castle instead of sitting alone reading in front of a fire."
Amelia: "I'm grateful I was attacked, it brought someone like you into my life." (Amelia faced Lucan as she placed her left hand on his chest and he wrapped his right arm around her waist as his left hand caressed her face.)
Lucan: "Admittedly I was skeptical on marrying you when your father and brother first brought it up, but now that I'm sitting here looking at your face in the setting sun I can't help but love you for how beautiful you are and how you make everything around you brighter." (Amelia blushed at this statement as she hit him in the chest slightly.)
Amelia: "You need to stop saying such amazing things or I may truly fall in love with you Lucan Vance."
Lucan: "That's the plan." (Lucan looked her in the eyes as he slowly leaned down and kissed her as Amelia kissed back instead of pulling back as they separated after a moment and she rested her head on his chest as they watched the sun finally set into the valley and continued their walk into the night.)
