Visionary Academy

Morning, at 8:00 AM. Shiro is outside the Visionary Academy’s gate, staring at the campus inside as his eyes wander around the surroundings, in search of any other students that might be ‘training’ with him for the rest of the month. Cars drive by, high school students walk by, seemingly to head to their school. Shiro just stood there, as if he were waiting for someone to open the gate for him.

“If I’m supposed to train here… THEN HOW THE HELL DO I GET IN?!”
He yelled, complaining about his situation, as other bystanders looked at him in shock from his yelling.

…

In a classroom, Zaki is sitting in front of the teacher’s desk with some students sitting on the class seats, and there are only 3 other students; they all seem bored, as if they’re waiting for something.

“Teach~ How long are we gonna wait?”
A female student asked, with her chin resting on her hand, which was resting on her table.

“Who are we even waiting for..?”
Another student asked, this time a male. He had both of his feet resting on the table with his chair reclined backwards.

Zaki stood up, adjusting his sunglasses.
”Be patient, my students!”
He raises his fist, symbolizing for his students to stay strong waiting.
”This classmate of yours that we are waiting for is a very important one!”
He spoke with a voice filled with confidence.

A student, who had already fallen asleep on his table, was snoring loudly, to the point that it interrupted Zaki.

“HEY! NO SLEEPING!”
Zaki pointed a finger at Kui, confronting him.

The student lifted his head, scratching his eyes.
”Hah?”
The student looked at Zaki with sleepy eyes.
”Sorry, teach… My roommate woke me up late to open the door for him last night. I couldn’t sleep till then.”

Zaki looked skeptical.
”Hmmm…”
He raised a finger before wagging it left and right.
”Not a good excuse!”

…

Meanwhile, Shiro literally was climbing the school’s gates to get in. Police nearby noticed this and called him out.

“HEY! WHAT ARE YOU DOING, KID?!”
The police man yelled at Shiro, who was climbing the school gates.

“I- I’M A STUDENT HERE! THEY LOCKED ME OUT!”
Shiro protested as he was halfway to climbing the gates.

The policeman looked at Shiro in shock, but was also frustrated with the situation.
”HA?! CALL YOUR TEACHER THEN!”
He yelled.

“HE WON’T REPLY!”
Shiro yelled back, already at the top ofthe gate as he’s about to cross it.

…

Later, Zaki and the three other students are dying of boredom inside the classroom, waiting for Shiro.

Zaki was on his phone, just scrolling through some reels. The female student was just staring out by the window, looking at the birds outside. One male student had his feets rested onto the desk with an open book covering his face, using it as an eye cover, while the other student, who was asleep earlier, was… well, asleep.

Footsteps can be heard outside the classroom. Zaki raises his head to the door as he sees Shiro heading in with his head slightly bleeding. Seemingly coming from when he climbed the gates earlier.

He stepped into the classroom, immediately, the female student’s and the other male student who had a book on his face had their eyes widen.

The aura of the room changed, as if it were being filled with a presence of negativity. The female student looked at Shiro, eyes widened.

Shiro walked further into the room, approaching Zaki at the teacher’s desk in front.

“AHA! FINALLY! You’re here!”
Zaki exclaimed, bursting with excitement. He stood up from his chair and placed his phone on the desk before grabbing Shiro’s hand and raising it to the sky.
”Meet Shiro! He is our new student! He will be training with us for the whole month!”
He spoke, his voice being very proud.

Shiro looked around as Zaki exaggerated his arrival. He sees Reiwa? the only female student in the classroom, and… Kui? who’s seemingly sleeping peacefully on his desk.

Shiro looked at Zaki.
”Why are Kui and Reiwa here…? Aren’t they sorta… a pro at beats hunting stuff now to be attending your lessons?”
He asked curiously.

Zaki looked back before replying.
”Kui is still a newbie~ He’s been attending my lessons for a few months now.”
”And… for Reiwa, I don’t really know..”
He looks at Reiwa.

Reiwa stared at Shiro; her perspective seemed different as she could sense some negative aura or energy emitting around him… and it seemed strong. She never read this out when they first met.

Blood drips from Shiro’s face, from his forehead.

Shiro wipes it off with a finger.
”I had to climb the damn gates to get here, y’know?”
He said with an annoyed face.

Zaki looked back, dumbfounded.
”I left it open..”

Suddenly, Reiwa came up from behind and rested her arm on Shiro’s shoulder_,_ as Shiro was slightly startled.

“I should’ve expected it~ It was you, the so-called ‘special student’ teach has been talking about~”
Reiwa spoke with a soft smile, yet a luring and teasing face.

“Special…?”
Shiro asked.

“Right…? Teach had been bragging about you~ But to find out it was just little’ol Shiro~”
She teasingly replied.

Shiro looked at Reiwa with a confused and puzzled face.
”W-Wait a minute, what are you even doing here…? Aren’t you like… already high in the ranks to be attending here?”

“I- I missed a few classes during training, and skipped most of the training since I kept being assigned~”
Reiwa raised a finger.
”Plus, I get extra pay for attending~”
She added.

Zaki disturbed their conversation by yelling all of a sudden.
”Enough! Let’s begin our training! No time to waste, students!”
He looked at Shiro.
”It is time I teach you the basics of ‘Perception’!”

Shiro looked puzzled.

“Perception? Isn’t that just some superstitious aura or energy stuff…?”
He thought to himself.
