My Weapon

"Well, that's enough theory for now, time to continue the physical practice" Masami stand up from the couch and called Ryosuke and Sayaka to come

"It's time for a small battle simulation Ryota dearie, you will go with Ryosuke and Sayaka to hunt some dangalaks like those you encountered yesterday"

"Hold on a second, i still didn't learn how to create my own weapons like you do, neither cast spells how am i going to fight?" Ryota said confused as Takashi helped him wear his coat despite his complaints

"The best way to concentrate of creating your own weapon it's in the actual action" Ryosuke said as he also wore his coat and helped Sayaka wear her own

"As for the magic spells you still have way to go before we start teaching you amateur sorcery, now of you go you three. Don't forget you got work tomorrow Ryota." Masami said teasingly as he pushed him walking downstairs to the exit, while Ryosuke was trying to convince Sayaka to wear her winter hat cause he was rather protective over her.

 Ryota walked out of the café exit while Masami stayed behind waving in a calm soothing manner. 

"Good luck on our first actual training Ryota dearie, and you too better keep him safe and teach him well okay?" 

"Of course miss Fukunaga" Ryosuke said as he also walked through the exit

"We will protect Ryota" Sayaka said with  her expressionless face but honest interest  

"Ehm goodnight" he said nervously as they walked away from the café

Later as they walked through some empty blocks, Ryota noticed that Sayaka keep pouting to Ryosuke

"Sayaka what's the matter?"

"Hm, Ryosuke treats me like a kid, though I'm a grown up woman" 

"I don't treat you as a kid when i told you to wear your winter hat because it's cold outside, stop acting so immature" Ryosuke groaned under his breath as he runed a hand through his hair in quiet frustration

"Hm, I'm 22 years old so I don't get cold that easily anymore, I'm a grown up person "

"Only by saying this you sound pretty immature for me Sayaka"

Sayaka open her mouth ready to complain again, but then she stopped and said.

"I spot 2 of them" as her gaze was locked somewhere far ahead

Ryosuke immediately changed behaviour and look sharply in front of them

"Where?"

"Behind that black car" Sayaka pointed with her fingers

Ryosuke and Ryota look to the car she pointed. After a while they both saw two dangalaks flying with their tiny wings in front of the windscreen and start messing with the windshield wipers

"What on earth those creatures doing?" Ryota asked

"Probably trying to destroy the windshield wipers of the owner's car"

"Why will do such a thing"

"The next days will start raining i think, and the owner of the car will be furious if he goes to work with broken windshield wipers"

"It's like watching some brats pulling tricks on the adults"

"That's how dangalaks act, they are small kind of demons which enjoying messing with people's lives to cause them fury, sadness and anxiety. Now enough of this, time for your training, make your weapon appear"

"Hold on just a second, you didn't even told me how to do that"

"The whole point it's about concentration, and what better way to concentrate in real time action. You must keep thinking that you must fight them and survive, if you keep this on your mind you won't lose concentration"

"I never done this before, I didn't practice to this."

"You don't have to, this will be your first weapon, just focus your mana on your good hand and the weapon will appear, then focus on the practice we did all night"

Ryota raised his right hand and closed his eyes and tighten his face.

"Ehm, what are you doing?"

"I'm focusing on my mana..?" Ryota said, feeling a bit stupid at his own words

"Good grief you're really hopeless" Ryosuke said annoyed but then Sayaka punch his elbow 

"Ouch, Sayaka...?"

"You're just bad teacher" she scold him as she approached Ryota

Sayaka hold Ryota's right hand

"Focus with your eyes open, feel that warm sensation in your body, focus to the dangalaks you must strike" Sayaka instruct him patiently with her simple tome. Ryota did as she instructed him, after a few minutes he started to feel a strange warm sensation in his body.

"Very good, now let it flow through your hand"

Ryota did as she told him too, and suddenly in his right hand a long silver katana appeared

"Well done Ryota" Sayaka said with enthusiasm

"Wow, that is quite impressive i thought you will make a dagger at the best" Ryosuke said mockingly only to get another punch on his elbow by Sayaka

"Ouch, alright alright great work Ryota now the hard part comes" Ryosuke said as the three of them walk towards to the car. When the dangalaks noticed them approaching, they flied immediately on them to attack them, but before they manage to approach them Sayaka raise her right hand.

"Divine Shield" she said and suddenly the dangalaks couldn't reach them, like some kind of invisible glass kept the dangalaks away from them.

"Now Ryota, Sayaka has cast a shield to us but you will need to cross it to attack them, remember to strike fast" Ryosuke instructed him

"Are you sure it's not dangerous even with the shield?"

"Don't worry, there's only 2 of them and we are right behind you. Just fight away those monsters"

Sayaka touched Ryota's shoulder gently

"You trusted us, time to trust yourself Ryota" she said to him with a calm voice

Ryota look both of them and gently nodded. He breath deeply and hold his katana with his two hands not too tightly as Takashi taught him. After a few moments he let out a soft brearh and stepped out of the shield.

He raised his katana and sliced with force both of the dangalaks in half. After the sliced bodies fall on the ground the turned to dust and disappeared. Ryota was breathing deeply mostly out of his stress instead of physical exhaustion with his mind still trying to process what just happened.

Ryota and approach him from behind and put his hand on his shoulder. 

"Well done Ryota"

"Bravo Ryota" Sayaka applauded him with her eyes sparkling

"I didn't expect for you to kill them with only one swing, you really got a strong spirit in you don't you?" he pointed his finger on his chest teasingly 

"Ah, ah thanks a lot"

"You can relax now it's done"

Ryota relaxed, and the katana disappeared from his hand

"Great job for first time but now it's time for you to get some rest, we don't want to broke you from your first day now do we?"

Ryota nodded gently, Sayaka approached him.

"I can send you directly on your bed if you want" she said politely

"Ah, ehm no i prefer to walk this time" he said but when he saw Sayaka disappointment he said:

"Maybe next time, yes next time for sure" Sayaka face beamed with soft joy when she heard that

"Then you better be on your way Ryota, tomorrow we'll continue your training"

"Okay, i will see you then tomorrow again"

"Goodnight Ryota, try not to fall asleep on your way home" 

"Goodnight Ryota, see you tomorrow" Sayaka waved at him kindly as they parted ways for the night.
