Decision

After Jack comes to know the truth of Marlin's death, he pledges to find the killer. Jack comes back to Central Province train station to get back in Western province.

After reaching the Western province, Jack decides to go back home either going to the hospital. Jack reaches home, he knocks on the door but even after 10 minutes no one responds, he gets anxious. He bangs the door again but still, no one responds Jack gets afraid and moves towards the city in search of June and Aden. But suddenly he hears the footsteps, so he turns around to see and Aden opens up the door and hugs Jack.

"Brother, where have you been? We searched for you everywhere in the hospital". Aden asks Jack.

“Where’s June?". Jack answers Aden question with a question.

"Yeah, she is actually... There is bad news, Marlin is... (Starts crying).

“I know everything, just tell me where's June? Jack asked being concern about June.

Aden takes Jack with him to the graveyard. They both were standing at the entrance of the graveyard and saw June was sitting in front of Marlin's grave. Jack gets dashed by Major. Ace and Lft. Harlow they both have eye contact but neither of them  utters a word. There were only 3 people left (Jack, Aden and June).

"I will find the person by myself". Jack speaks up a bit loudly. (Aden was crying holding the hat of Marlin).

“Hence, I am going to join the military no matter what". Jack declares a statement.

Aden looks at the hat and then looking at June he says, "I am with you".

“No, you don't have to".

"I do".

“See, try to understand. You don't have to be everywhere I go".

"I have to, so you don't screw up". Aden refuses to listen to Jack.

There was a cold silence after Aden's statement. Jack breaks the silence and said," Fine then, but don't let her (June) know anything about this".

Aden nods his head saying "YES".

Even after an hour no one moves or utter a word. Finally, June gets up and starts to move towards the home. Jack and Aden follow her silently.

After reaching home, June had a seat and was lost in her thoughts accompanied by Aden. Jack rushes towards his room. After a while, Jack shouts, "Aden I need your help. Come here quick".

Aden quickly rushes towards Jack's room and was astonished to see a prosthetic leg in Jack's hands.

“You arrived, help me attach this". Jack asks Aden's help.

"Is this...Is this...?

Jack interrupts Aden and says

“Yes, indeed this is a prosthetic leg".

Without any further questioning, Aden helps Jack by attaching the prosthetic leg and Jack shouts out of the pain.

"Aaah...It pains too much".

As Aden was also a physician, he knew about attaching a prosthetic leg or hand.

“Yes, I have finished attaching it. Are you able to walk, try it out"? Aden helps Jack to attach the prosthetic leg and advice him to try it.

"Of course, I can walk (starts walking). After all, it was me... (Collapses)". Jack was about to share something but hits the ground.

Aden picks up Jack and with a frustrated tone questions him, "Brother, are you Ok? Who the hell even made this?"

Jack seats on his bed and remembers a memory.

* 2 years ago *

"Doc, you have to do it. I can't ask anyone except you". A soldier was requesting Dr Marco.

"How many times shall I explain to you? I have resigned. I don't make any more of those prosthetic legs or hands”. Doc explains the soldier with a frustrating tone.

Jack was watching everything standing near a table and doing his task. It has been 15 minutes since the soldier requesting Doc.

"Please Doc, I lost my right leg in the war so I am no more use to the military hence they kick out me. But I have a family still waiting for me to return as I was on both of my legs. So, I beg you to make a prosthetic leg".

“Hell no, please move out". Doc declines.

The soldier moves out with a disappointed face. Doc was watching towards the soldier's wounds, it appeared like an animal attacked his leg.

Doc suddenly changes his mind and says, "I will be doing it but only this once. Let me take the measurements".

The soldier was overjoyed listening to Doc's decision. Doc takes the measurements and informs the soldier to come after 2 weeks. Jack used to watch every day Doc preparing the prosthetic leg. In this process of innovation, Doc prepared several prototypes.

"This is the 15th prototype still I am unable to finalize it". Doc was frustrated with himself.

“May I help you, Doc?" Jack asks with curiosity.

"Sure, why not. Join me with a cup of coffee and nothing else". Doc directly denied.

“Ok, I will watch you". Jack replied.

Dr Marco was doing his work and suddenly Jack sees something and says, "Hey Doc, shouldn't this part must be larger? (Pointing at a part). Jack questioned Doc.

"Huh...which one, this I guess (observes). Oh, probably yes. This part joins the ankle and knee, it must be larger. Great job! Jack. After all, it's me who has taught you self-analysis". Doc said Jack, praising himself.

Jack nods his head saying" NO. It was common sense".

"Yeah, I get it. I shall throw this prototype and make a new one, the final one". Doc said to himself loudly.

"Doc, instead of throwing it, Can I take it with me?” Jack asks Doc.

“Ok, but what are you going to do of this piece of trash, anyway?

"Well, I just want to keep it. No reason". Jack replied.

Doc nods his head showing no interest.

Jack comes back to the present and remembers that this is the last memory of Doc he has with him.

“Well I can't blame him, this was already a piece of trash and I was the one who finalized it". Jack said to himself.

"Let's try one more time". Jack gives a boost to himself.

Jack starts walking.

“See what did I told you. This is my innovation it is not going to fail (collapses again).

"Are you alright...?" Aden picks up Jack and asks him.

"Need to practice it". Jack gets disappointed.

The next day

Jack wakes up early and starts his training to get a hold of his leg. After practicing for a long time, Jack comes inside the house.

“Where have you been?" Seeing Jack, June asks him.

"Just trying to be comfortable with my leg". Jack replied.

“Oh, so you attached that prosthetic leg which you had in your room (with no expression) I am happy for you". June replied.

"I know how much happy you are. It's nothing like before". Jack talks with himself.

“Breakfast is ready you guys". June shouts.

All of us gathered at the table to have breakfast.

"I understand brother; you have made up your mind. So now I will be the one to tell June about our decision". Aden was talking with himself.

“June, we have decided that we will be joining the military". Jack declares.

A glass of water fells down from June's hand.

"What are you doing brother? At least know the timing". Aden frustrated with Jack was talking with himself.

“Sorry. But I am a bit surprised that you decided that all of a sudden". June asks in anxiety.

"No, it was a decision we made a long time ago". Aden replied.

“I see all the best. (Looks down and a tear slides through her cheek). June wishes Jack and Aden.

After a while, June leaves the house and now it was only Aden and Jack alone.

"Brother, though we have decided we will be in the military what's next after that? Aden asks Jack being curious.

“We will be the SOLICTERS". Jack declares.

"But, why in particular that unit?" Aden questions Jack.

"No other military officials are allowed to cross the borders between the provinces. But Solicters don't have any such rules. They're free". Jack gives a statement.

On the same day, Jack and Aden joined the military.

They were standing in a bunch of people and the Trainer Officer was giving instructions.

"Attention, you all are here to serve your nation. As you all know just 2 years ago the whole world came out of Lion's mouth. We are yet to recover from it but we have these "Hoodlooms" who are trying to eradicate us from the map. We can't every time rely on Solicters. We should also learn to take the swords in our hands and fight with those bastards. Are you all ready?”

"YES".

“I can't hear you, more loudly. Are you all ready?"

"YES".
