Chapter 12:
Everyone Thinks I’m Lying
The punishment came faster than expected.
The host entered the house with a seriousness we hadn’t seen before.
“Housemates,” she said, “today’s announcement affects not just the game but lives beyond this house.”
The screen lit up.
A statement from Arjun’s management.
DUE TO RECENT DEVELOPMENTS, WE ARE REEVALUATING CURRENT AND FUTURE ASSOCIATIONS.
The room fell silent.
Arjun closed his eyes.
Diary Room – Day 21
I always knew this would cost me.
I just didn’t expect how much it would hurt.
Production offered him a choice.
Clarify his public image.
Distance himself from me.
Continue the show safely.
Or
Stay.
Risk everything.
He didn’t ask for time.
“I’m staying,” he said.
The house reacted immediately.
“This is selfish,” someone said.
“He’s dragging you down,” another told me.
Maybe they were right.
But when Arjun looked at me, there was no doubt in his eyes.
The vote that night was brutal.
No speeches. No mercy.
The result was clear.
We were outvoted.
The room exhaled in relief.
As we packed, Arjun stopped.
“They want a final interview,” he said. “Together.”
We sat under harsh lights, hands intertwined.
“Are you gay?” the interviewer asked Arjun.
He paused.
“I don’t know,” he said. “But I know who I love.”
They turned to me.
“And you?”
I smiled, softly.
“I think I stopped lying when I stopped being afraid.”
Outside the house, the world waited.
Cameras. Protestors. Fans.
The noise was overwhelming.
Arjun squeezed my hand.
“Still with me?” he asked.
“Always.”
Diary Room – Final Entry
We didn’t win the money.
But we left unscripted.
And for the first time in my life...
That feels like enough.
