Chapter 12:

Futatsu - Tomorrow

Bintchoo To Kukuru

“Decay.” Nakijin said, appearing behind Riku, attempting to grab Riku. “Too slow.” Riku said, as wind stopped Nakijin, and slammed him into the ground. Riku kicked Nakijin into the air. “Wind Majutsu : Fujin’s Knock.” Riku said shooting off several arrows at Nakijin. Nakijin threw himself into the air to dodge but the arrows chased after him. The arrows slammed into a wall of darkness protecting Nakiijn. Riku appeared behind Nakijin, and used his wind to throw Nakijin through the wall of darkness. “Hellfire.” Nakijin said, as blue fire surrounded him, and lunged at Riku. Wind gathered around Riku, and dispersed the flames. “Come on Akuma, show me that strength of yours.” Riku said. “How about no. I admit, in my current state I can’t win. So I'm not going to waste my time trying to fix an impossible situation. But don’t think this is the end. I will be back, and when I do, no-one, and I mean no-one, will be able to stop what’s coming.” Nakijin said. “You aren’t going anywhere.” Riku said, lunging at Nakijin and punching him. “Hey hunter, look up.” Nakijin said. Riku looked up, noticing a large amount of Black Mabui creating a circle. From the circle rained black blades. The blades forced Riku to defend, allowing Nakijin to flee. “No you don’t!” Yusuke and Yuna yelled at the same time. Yusuke shot a lightning bolt, and Yuna threw a ball of flames. The lightning bolt caught the flames and carried it, tearing through Nakijin’s chest. Riku dispersed the collection of Black Mabui, allowing him to catch up with Nakijin. “Die.” Riku said, appearing above Nakijin. Riku condensed the wind, making it sharp, and threw it into Nakijin. “Note to self, next time finish the forsaken mission before everything goes wrong.” Nakijin said. “Stop talking like you can escape.” Riku said. “I already have.” Nakijin said. Black Mabui surrounded him and Riku. It went wild, and then dispersed into nothing. By the time Riku could see again Nakijin was gone, and so was the black sky. Riku looked down at the amusement park, destroyed and desolate. Yusuke was tired, and hurt, but he was still awake. Riku looked over and saw Yuna holding Hiroko. They both had wounds, but for now the bleeding has stopped. Yuna had collapsed. Then he looked over at Ramon, unconscious, his body beaten. Riku sighed and dropped to Yusuke, grabbing him and hugging him.

Yuna saw only a few glimpses of what came after. Men, women, doctors. She was wheeled away to an operating room. She found herself coming to in a hospital room. She sat up, and looked around. She was hooked up to an IV, and a monitor, keeping her stable, and watched over, telling information. She noticed the room had no windows. She got off the bed, and fell to the floor, her leg pained. She looked at her leg, and noticed that the cut had been stitched up together. She got onto her feet, and stumbled back onto the ground. She tore out the IVs, and pulled off the patches connecting her to the monitor, it started going off, and beeping loudly. Yuna stumbled up, and fell against the door, opening it, and walking out. She immediately got the attention of some nurses and doctors, who ran to her, and grabbed her. She was taken back to her bed, and re-hooked up.

“So that’s your report, an Akuma attacked the amusement park, and got away with it.” a man said, his voice loud and firm. It came from a phone, Riku’s phone. Riku sat in a chair. Watching over Yusuke, as he sleeps. “When I find out more I’ll let you know, but yes. That is the basic summation. Several teams have been sent to fix this mess. The current story being circulated is that there was a gas leak.” Riku said. “A gas leak doesn't cause that much damage.” the man on the phone said. “Maybe a big gas leak might, I don’t know. There is a reason I'm a hunter, and not a news reporter.” Riku said. “Keep me updated. When the three nobodies wake up, ID them, and figure out why they were there.” the man said. “Will do Director.” Riku said, before hanging up. A Rooh Hunter opened the door. A man. Masato, Division 4, Rank 10. Brown short hair, and grey eyes. “Riku. One of them has woken up.” Masato said. “Ok, I’ll get to it.” Riku said, standing up, and stretching. He looked at Yusuke, and walked out of the room.

Riku walked into Yuna’s room. She was awake, sitting up in the bed, holding her knees to her chest. “Hello. My name is Fujiwara Riku. What is your name?” Riku asked. “Yuna, my name is Chatan Yuna.” Yuna answered. “Ms. Chatan. Am I correct in assuming you threw that fireball back there at the end?” Riku asked. “Yes at the Akuma.” Yuna said. “Ms Chatan, do you know what we are, and what any of this is?” Riku asked. “A secret organization. You keep the idea of the Majutsu, and Mabui away from the public eye. As well as the existence of the Yanamun.” Yuna said. “Mabui, and Yanamun? What? The Kami, and Yokai are the biggest secrets we keep. However, Majutsu, you are Yusuke’s friend, the one who helped to defeat the Oni a few days ago, aren't you?” Riku asked. “Yes.” Yuna said reluctantly. “Now I have a bigger question, why would he lie to me? If he knew another Medium was found, then he should have said something. He knows how rare they are.” Riku said. “Medium?” Yuna asked. “It basically means someone undecided, and blessed by Kami.” Riku said. “I don’t follow. Undecided?” Yuna asked. “I’ll give you a quick rundown. Kami is the life of everything. People have it in them. But this is where things change, as the Kami mutates the human. A long time ago during the first advent of the Kami spawned three distinct groups outside of normal Humans, these groups are called Mediums. The three individual groups have their own name and designation. Holy People, Demi-Humans, and Shamans. Shaman’s can see the Kami, but can’t use it. Demi-Humans, individuals who mutated from the Kami, and created new races. And the Holy People, people with Kami, but it doesn't mutate what they are. Yusuke and I are Holy people.” Riku explained. “So I am a Medium because you don’t know if I am a Demi-Human or a Holy Person?” Yuna asked. “Yes.” Riku said. Yuna looked at Riku, before looking away. She noticed a pouch, pumping something into her. The pouch read RTK. “What is this stuff?” Yuna asked. “Don’t ask me, I’m not the doctor.” Riku said. “Is it good?” Yuna asked. “It’s an infusion that helps, uh, what was it that was said. It makes one’s cells regenerate faster. As well as boosts Kami, and Majutsu potency. It makes you stronger essentially. Yuna looked at the bag of unidentified liquids. A mashed pallet of color.
