Chapter 16:

Muttsu - The Return

Bintchoo To Kukuru

Hiroko invited the group into her room. “Ok, we need a story. Something to explain why we disappeared for a week.” Hiroko said. “I’ve got nothing. Zero clue.” Yuna said. “None as well.” Yusuke said. “Do we need one?” Ramon asked. “Yes.” Hiroko said. “Nothing makes sense. We say we were at the amusement park when everything happened, and hospitalized it goes against the already loose narrative the Mardom Rooh have created.” Yusuke said. “We could say we took the train to go visit the sites of Okinawa.” Yuna said, laying out onto Hiroko’s bed. “Tell her we were at a party.” Ramon said. “A week-long party, not a chance. Me maybe, Yuna no.” Hiroko said. “We just need a story for you. Your mother doesn’t act like a mother to me, unless I come here. I don’t think she even knows where I live.” Yuna said. “Fair, although while you are here she does treat you like a daughter.” Hiroko said. “I said that.” Yuna said. “So our best story is a party?” Hiroko asked. “Yep.” the other three said. “Ramon, Yusuke out, go sleep on the couch.” Hiroko said. “Yeah, go sleep on the dirty couch. I’ll enjoy this nice bed.” Yuna joked. Hiroko flopped onto the bed next to Yuna. “I’m just going to go home.” Ramon said. “Get a good night's sleep, meet us tomorrow. At the school.” Yusuke said. “Training?” Hiroko asked. “Yep.” Yusuke responded.

Nakijin woke up, he was in the Spirit World. He sat up, and the black Mabui covering his body fell off of him, revealing the human underneath. His white hair, and red eyes piercing through the purple hue of the Spirit World. He looked to the sword where Warabina was sealed away in. “Soon my love.” he said, standing up. “Do we even need the boy?” Warabina asked. “Unless you know someone else with the curse, yes.” Nakijin said, as he continued to walk through the spirit world. “Who created it, the curse?” Waranbina asked. “The one lady. I can’t remember her name.” Nakijin said. “But we don’t need her name, only the curse.” Warabina said. “So we pressure her, who is constantly protected by the Mardom Rooh, to give us the curse. Not likely.” Nakijin said. “I mean possess her.” Warabina said. “No, you failed a possession somehow. Next time we will just take a corpse.” Nakijin said. “I say it’s worth visiting the lady. She is powerful, but she is also volatile. All it takes is some lucky Akuma, and she will wage war against the Rooh. They kill her, I get a body, and memories, as well as knowledge of one important curse.” Warabina said. “It’s still dangerous. If not the Rooh, then the sheer amount of Demi-Humans who work for her will be an issue,” Nakijin said. “Then we stay here, and try to heal our wounds, and save up as much Mabui as we are allowed.” Warabina said. “Maybe, he can do it.” Nakijin said, with a smile.

Yuna woke up, and looked out the window. Seeing the bright light, she rolled off of Hiroko’s bed, onto the floor. The drop woke up Hiroko. Yuna got up onto her feet, and walked slowly to the room’s door, opening it. “Coffee. I need coffee.” Hiroko said. “You have legs.” Yuna said, struggling to open the door. “Why can’t you get it?” Hiroko whined. Yuna leaned against the wall. “I hate your door.” Yuna said. “Can you not open it?” Hiroko asked. “Nope.” Yuna answered. “Did you-?” Hiroko asked, getting cut off by the door opening. The door hid Yuna. “You two ready? We haven’t got all day.” Yusuke said. “Coffee, now.” Hiroko said, sitting up. “Where’s Yuna?” Yusuke asked. “Here.” Yuna responded, leaning her head against the door. Yusuke looked behind the door. “My head hurts.” Yuna said. “Yusuke, get us coffees.” Hiroko said, annoyed.

The three walked the streets to the school. As they reached it, Yusuke saw Ramon already waiting. Yuna waved to Ramon. They got closer, and Yusuke broke into the school. “So what are we learning?” Yuna asked. “All of you will learn how to fight. You will all learn Aikido, and Kendo. As well as Kami Sensing.” Yusuke said. “How will that help me learn Majutsu?” Yuna asked. “Mediating, all of you will do it to learn Kami Sensing. It will also help to efficiently control Kami.” Yusuke explained. Yusuke led them to the gymnasium. “Stay here, and let me go get the Kendo stuff. Start meditating.” Yusuke said. “That’s worthless.” Ramon said. “Sit down all of you. You can see the Kami, feel it, sense it.” Yusuke said. Yuna got onto her knees, and started meditating. “You two as well. You all need to learn about it.” Yusuke said. “How is this going to help me?” Ramon asked. “During your battle with the Akuma you took some big blows. You should have been fast enough to dodge it, but since you couldn’t sense the attack you got hit. Which is why you need to learn how to sense the Kami.” Yusuke said. “I can’t sense Mana.” Ramon said. “You can see it, that’s sensing it. But you also feel it. Everyone, as long as they are a Medium, can sense Kami. All three of you need to learn how to sense it, and read it.” Yusuke said. Hiroko sat next to Yuna, and started meditating with her. “Ramon, just do it.” Yusuke said. “Fine.” Ramon said, joining Yuna and Hiroko.

Yusuke walked to the storeroom. It was filled with gym equipment. His phone buzzed, and he answered it. “Hey, I need you to check something out for me.” Riku said, over the phone. “Not going to say anything else?” Yusuke asked. “Yusuke, please. Something is weird here. Director Noboru is making plans for an assault.” Riku said. “An assault. How big?” Yusuke asked. “I haven’t got an estimate.” Riku said. “What do I need to check out?” Yusuke asked. “An Island south of Okinawa. It’s been off the map for over a thousand years. The last remaining Kingdom of Ryukyu. Currently the Kingdom of Agaitiida.” Riku said. “So check it out. Is that where the assault is taking place?” Yusuke asked. “Look, all I know is this has something to do with RTK. Director Noboru is making a fuss, and there have been back and forth with the other Directors. I hope we don’t go into another civil war.” Riku said. “Well it seems possible. It’s not like everyone in the organization has the same goals. Especially among the Directors.” Yusuke said. “Check it out, and report back to me. I need more information.” Riku said. “You are going against the Director, aren’t you?” Yusuke asked. “I don’t know yet. I just -.” Riku started. “I will check it out, but not now. I need to train the fools.” Yusuke said. “Spend a day, or two training them. But please, before the week is out, look into the island.” Riku said. “Fine, but I need something from you. A Hunter’s sword, get a Jian.” Yusuke said.
