Chapter 4:
My Husband is a Cryptozoologist and He’s Trying to Bring Pterodactyls Back
Look, I don’t like the idea of pterodactyls flying around Las Vegas. That’s where we live. So I hope Gil takes some considerations and tries to bring back something else, like the Amarok. Those aren’t AS scary. Anyway, I like to---
“Janet!” Gil screams from downstairs.
Uh oh. I start walking downstairs. Am I worried? A bit.
“Yes? I say as I get downstairs.
“I have an idea.”
“Uh oh,” I mutter.
“So, I’ve made a potion that can turn regular animals into pterodactyls!” he says. “I think.”
“You think?”
“Yes. I think. Well… let’s test it outdoors on Saturday.”
I look at the calendar. Today is Friday. I manage to stop all my anger just long enough to smile and say: “Great!” and walk upstairs.
I go into my room and scream in my pillow. Just my rotten luck. I have one day. 24 hours. And then I am going to witness something Gil would call a miracle.
