CHAPTER 10: THE BLACK AND THE DEAD (HELL HOUNDS)

HELL HOUNDS OFFICE, OUTER EDGE, NEXERIA

The door to the Hell Hounds' office opens with two people entering. First; The Black Duchess; a tall, dark-skinned woman in a long, beautiful black gown with a clashing gothic hoodie with the Hell Hounds logo on it. Followed by Jonny Deadhead, a skeleton being known as a Skeltal, in a cowboy hat, jeans, and a long coat with the same logo playing a guitar.

“WOW! Look at the storm Zombato caused in here, hehe; he sure is the master of messes.” The Black Duchess says, lifting the papers, office supplies, and folders on the ground with her mageus energy, putting it all back.

“We should talk to him, tell him to do the ultraviolence outside.”

“Lassie, you know we can’t have him do that. He might damage one of the neighbors. The laddie likes to go overboard when he wants things done quickly.” Deadhead says, looking over the place himself. He stops playing his guitar.

“Did you notice that the Master of Messes left this place cleaner than usual?”

The Black Duchess looks at the skeletal man with a puzzled look. She looks around, studying what might be missing from Zombato’s normal overreactive slaughters.

“You’re right, Jonny, this is ominous; I feel a darkness looming. We have to contact Zombato and let him know.”

Deadhead holding his phone in his hand with Zombato dialed.

“One step ahead of you, lassie.” The phone rings, but ends up going to voicemail.

“No dice, he must have it on silent or lost it.”

“Then we find him before the darkness finds him first.” Black Duchess looks outside, sighing.

“Don’t worry, this isn’t his first rodeo. The lad can rope danger up with one arm; I’ve seen him do it.” Deadhead replies with a chuckle.

“Haha, yes, I know; I love the story about the Chaotic Carnival. But let’s get moving.” The Black Duchess says, shifting her tone; her voice cracking a bit.

Deadhead stares at her; putting his hand on her shoulder

“It was the Chaos Corral; the Chaotic Carnival was not as fun for Zombato and myself; and for all our sakes, let’s hope this isn’t a repeat. Now let’s find our Master of Messes.”
