Chapter 37:
Bintchoo To Kukuru
Yuna woke up, dizzy, tired, and weak. She was in a cave, and she recognized it easily, her Utaki. However she was chained to the ceiling, unable to touch the ground. She wasn’t in the physical world, she was in the Spirit World. Warabina walked into the cave, looking rattled. “You look happy.” Yuna said. “Don’t mess with me.” Warabina said. “It’s all I can do.” Yuna said. “You can go back to sleep.” Warabina said. “I’m tired of sleeping.” Yuna said. “Then just hang out, or something.” Warabina said. “You look different. Makadu looks different. I don’t know how, but you look different. Your hair, it’s not plain black like before her red hair came back.” Yuna said. Warabina grabbed her hair and looked at it. “Interesting.” Warabina said. “You are smarter than I am, and older. You must know the reason.” Yuna said. “I don’t. I still don’t know how you managed to undo my possession.” Warabina said. “So you don’t know everything. Does the Mardom Rooh?” Yuna asked. “Nakijin might. Why am I associating with you? Warabina asked. “Well when you are in a random place with nothing to do but to hang out with your prisoner.” Yuna said. “Fair point. Anyway, I need you.” Warabina said. “With what?” Yuna asked. “Mabui, I’m going to siphon from you. I need to break through this things mind.” Warabina said. “Whatever.” Yuna said.
Nakijin walked into the cave. “So we are out of options now. The Spirit World destroyed the curse.” Nakijin said. “Good for you.” Yuna said, chuckling. “She is talkative.” Warabina said. “Doesn’t matter. Our only choice is the puppet’s memories. And when you figure out how, come back to the physical world. We can only keep the curse there.” Nakijin said. “Fun.” Warabina said. “So Yusuke’s curse is gone, can he now use anything else than lightning?” Yuna asked. “So have fun with the puppet.” Nakijin said, kissing Warabina. “Until then my love.” Warabina said.
Nakijin left, and Warabina let down Yuna, tying her up, and setting her on the ground. “Tying me up is pointless, I can’t move even if I wanted to.” Yuna said. “Good.” Hiroko said. “So what is going to happen?” Yuna asked. “I’m going to use your Mabui to create a spell taking us into the puppet’s mind. I would use mine, but I’m trying to save as much Mabui as possible.” Warabina said. “Neat.” Yuna said. Warabina sat in front of Yuna, started meditating. “Having fun napping?” Yuna asked. Warabina ignored her. “Don’t ignore me.” Yuna said.
In an instant they both found themselves in an abyss. Warabina stood up. “The world is huge, connected from realm to realm, and broken by different planes. Yuna looked at Warabina, she wasn’t in Makadu’s body. She had black hair, and grey eyes. “Whether Yggdrasil, or Elnias Devyniargagis, this realm is being torn at the seams, creating the planes. This plane doesn't have an actual name. But it connects to the realms of the dead, the Holy People of ages ago built pathways through the planes. On this Plane, every memory is carried by the Mabui and stored here.” Warabina said.
Yuna found herself unbound, and able to move. She stood up, and punched Warabina, not doing any damage. “Relax, that doesn’t work here.” Warabina said. Warabina noticed someone laying behind Yuna. Yuna looked back and found Makadu. Yuna got onto her knees, and grabbed Makadu, waking her up. Makadu screamed, and punched Yuna, knocking her down. Yuna and Makadu both sat up. “What happened, where is that woman? Are we dead?” Makadu asked. “I don’t know what happened to the woman, but I do know you died, then this woman captured me, and stole your corpse.” Yuna said. “Child everyone on the island died. Well those with your blood, and well also a large group of Rooh Hunters.” Warabina said.
Warabina walked away as Yuna and Makadu processed what was said. “Everyone, my friends, my band. Queen Umitama?” Makadu asked, standing up. Makadu and Yuna followed after Warabina. “Eradicated.” Warabina said. “You are lying.” Yuna said. “No I’m not.” Warabina said. Mabui flew in front of them, and recreated a memory. “For us to be equal we need to erase religion from this world, and tell the humans the truth. That is the aim of my Organization.” The three heard Yusuke’s voice. “That happened. Such a shame a fanatic ended up becoming a Director. Also a shame he had some Akuma friends with needs.” Warabina said, walking through the memory. “You knew?” Makadu asked, looking at Yuna. “I knew that, not that they would do what they did.” Yuna said, walking past Makadu following Warabina. Makadu followed.
“So child, red hair one. You wanna open your mind, it’ll make my job easier.” Warabina said. “Open my what? I don’t know what is happening.” Makadu said. “She is trying to find a curse. From what I gathered it came from your Queen, and they think you have access to her memories, because you were her puppet.” Yuna said. “I don’t have her memories. I never inherited them.” Makadu said. “Great, so we keep searching. I’m fine with that, however I don’t want to reach Nirai Kanai.” Warabina said. “So we wander around until we get lucky?” Yuna asked. “Yep.” Warabina said.
The three heard dancing, and turned around to see Makadu dancing in front of her people. “How fun, and not important.” Warabina said, continuing to walk. “I’m sorry.” Yuna said. “Just shut up.” Makadu said. Yuna walked away. Makadu continued to watch herself dance. Then she saw Queen Umitama stand up, and walk away into the throne room. “Hey! I think I found one of her memories.” Makadu said. Warabina rushed back. Seeing the throne roomed, filled with Yanamun corpses, and other puppets. Yuna walked to them. “That’s dark.” Yuna said. “It’s how Queen Umitama survived for so long.” Makadu said. “Yes, because when becoming an Akuma or Tenshi is an option the best thing to live forever is by putting your memories in a body brought to life by a lot of dead Demi-Humans.” Wrabina said. “She had her faults.” Makadu said. “Don’t we all.” Yuna said. “Let's just reach the end.” Warabina said, walking through the memory.
“Don’t help her. Let her do all the work. Just annoy her the entire time.” Yuna said. “Why?” Makadu asked. “She is not a good person who you should help. She possessed my friend then she possessed you.” Yuna said. Makadu went to walk away, but she heard a scream. Something grabbing both of their attention. The two of them followed where the scream came from, losing Warabina. They found themselves in a memory, an old one. They saw a woman, a young Warabina. “Nihon isn’t a place for you, you and your mud people.” a guy said, walking to Warabina. Yuna and Makadu watched. The man beat, and tormented Warabina, before gutting her, and leaving her to bleed out. “Are you two coming?” Warabina asked, walking through the memory, unphased by it. “Is this what made you evil?” Yuna asked. “Evil? It set my mind. If the Nihon’s can’t accept us. And I mean you two as well as me and Nakijin, then us Ryukyuan’s shouldn’t accept them.” Warabina said. “So you plan on killing every Nihon?” Makadu asked. “Why do you care, they just murdered you and your people?” Warabina asked. “For you and Nakijin. You needed the curse, and since you tried to steal it from Yusuke, and failed, you thought going after the creator of the curse would do. But since you were too weak, you sent a friend to do it. The Mardom Rooh.” Yuna said. “Did you just now figure that out?” Warabina asked. “Just letting Makadu know you can’t be trusted, nor reasoned with. You may come from this, but you could have sought a better world.” Yuna said. “This is a better world, one rid of discrimination. One where everyone is equal, and no our plan is not to genocide the Nihons.” Warabina said.
