Chapter 24:

CHAPTER 24: SUFFERING IN SILENCE (LYLIGAN)

Monstrum Fantasia: The Mysterious Circle

THUGS' HIDEOUT, MIDTOWN, NEXERIA

Lyligan kicks the door down of the thugs’ hideout. She enters the dark place and checks for a light switch. She flips it on, looking at the messy place.

“Silly switch, you can’t hide from me. Just like the clues here.” She smiles, scanning the area, noticing desks with piles of papers on them, a card table with a deck and chips on it, a couch, a television, and other random things from the stereotypical thug manifesto.

“And now I’m talking to inanimate objects... I’ve been around my brother too long.”

The succubus shakes her head and then refocuses on what she came here for: anything that can connect to the Circle’s or Saurcle’s existence. Her eyes glow with a violet light, activating her ability to see traces of energy. Items around the area light up with a violet glow, revealing what has been touched.

“Jackpot! Ha ha! I’m so glad I can express myself openly now.” She sighs, going to the item on the desk in front of her.

“Vamyn thinks he has it rough with his past; well, you know some of us suffer in silence. Not being able to speak about our past because no one wants to hear it, or remember it. I remember the pain all too well. Being locked up and drained for years, I never knew I’d make it this far.” Lyligan bites her tongue a bit.

“Come on, stop sulking; on the bright side, you have your freedom, access to powers now, and family. Family that cares. And all that stuff is good good. Heh, I remember when Telly used to always say that.” The two-toned hair woman smiles and looks down at what looks like a stone tablet on the desk.

“Old school communication... No wonder they haven’t been found out yet. That it’s still here is a lucky break for me; must have been in a hurry instead of destroying it.” She activates her spiritus power and runs her hand over the tablet, revealing a language unfamiliar to her.

“Skrukity skruk! My spell can’t translate it.” She sighs, picking up the stone tablet and puts it away.

“I hope Vamyn knows someone who can read this.” She turns her head, looking at the other lit up objects in her vision. She heads to the objects on the table.

“Seems like a bunch of tools to help break into high security buildings. Could be useful, could be nothing. Tools fueled by any MAKEOS energy are dangerous, nonetheless. Bloodphires? Must be from the mine. I wonder what they use them for?” Lyligan sees some small objects glowing with energy on a coffee table in the other room of the hideout. She looks down at the coffee table and sees all the sparkling dust residue and a bag of sparkling powder.

“Perfect! Found the sorcery! Or if my brother has the right idea; I wonder if this is Saurcery? Ha ha! This group might love puns if it is. With this, the stone tablet, and Telly’s video, we’ll finally be able to move on with The Circle or Saurcle.” She grabs the bag of the powder and puts it away.

“I’ll go reconvene with Vamyn and tell him all this stuff I found.” She heads out the way she came in and ponders to herself, looking at the night sky.

“The night keeps going, and so does the chaos. I hope it’s not a long night.”
