CHAPTER 26: HORRIBLE INFLUENCE (DEATHBORNE AND GRIDE)

THE NIGHT OF NIGHTMARES, UPTOWN, NEXERIA

"Ugh, you drunk beast, I knew I'd find you here!" Lyligan yells at her brother, seeing him on a table in the bar.

"I had this feeling you'd be here after your mess, because you always have to celebrate your crazy ideas with a drink."

“My fault Lady, I got him some of the good stuff after our little outing.” Gride replies to her, taking a drink from his bottle.

“Of course you were with him, Gride. I don’t know which one of you is the more chaotic one, and don’t call me Lady. I hate that name.” The succubus member of the Deathborne says with her vein throbbing in her forehead. The urge to whack them upside the head with a cactus returns.

“That depends on the day of the week; it’s like a 4/3 split between us. This was definitely him, though. Look at the bright side, though; you get to give him a good wake-up smack.” The goblin gives her a smirk.

“You know, you are a horrible person for someone with a lot of influence.” She comments, her face shifting from an annoyed frown to a wicked smile. She heads over to her brother and pulls her arm back.

“Eh, how do you think I got the job?” Gride chuckles, watching her get into position.

“Heh, fair point. Also, this is on your tab.” Lyligan replies, letting her hand go almost at the speed of sound, smacking Itellier on the side of his face.

The smack sends him flying into the wall of the bar. BOOM! His body cracks a few bottles and nick-knacks around the bar. He shakes his head after the slap and rolls over onto the ground.

He stretches, getting off of the ground, and looks around groggily.

“Good morning to you too, Lylie.” Itellier replies, knowing full well how it feels to be smacked awake by his sister. Was not the first time, nor would this be the last time he ever felt her wrath.

“You know, a simple nudge would have woken me.” The incubus sibling chuckles, rubbing his face from the smack.

“Yeah, but where’s the fun in that?” She smirks. “Now, both of you move your drunk asses out of here and let’s get back to the base. It’s rendezvous time.”
