Subject: Op DAMASCUS, suspect affiliation with Charles Curwen

Sole suspect interrogated on first day of DAMASCUS could not previously be established to have any connections to known adversarial groups, leading to downgrading of his unnamed Group of Interest’s status to AGITATOR in accordance with Japanese partner org D5 resolution.

New findings may require a reassessment of that status. Cross-reference with reconstructed surveillance footage from Charles Curwen’s estate has matched the suspect (98.89% confidence) with a man accompanying Curwen on several viewings of his collection. Despite this evidence, DHS confirms suspect has no history of travel to CONUS.

Recommend independent investigation into suspect by asset on ground.
With attention of Japanese partners fixed on enhancing their security posture in the area of operation of DAMASCUS, we advise against sharing new intel with D5 at this time.

MISSING COUPLE FOUND
KUROSHIMA Is., Japan (HS) – Authorities confirmed that a missing couple last seen three weeks ago have been found safe.

The couple was reported missing after neighbors on the island of Kuroshima made a routine check-up of their household and found it empty of persons. The 67-year-old man and 65-year-old woman turned up of their own accord this Sunday, to the surprise of authorities and the local community. After questioning, it was ascertained that for the three weeks they were missing the couple were on vacation to the Bahamas, having won the tickets in a market lottery in the city of Hokishi. They had apparently not notified anyone of their plans, and went unnoticed when they took the husband’s boat out to the mainland the day of their flight. The couple were confirmed to be in excellent condition after a medical examination.

Situation:
OPFOR consisting of at least sixty-four (64) ROLLYPOLLY specimens (including one individual of exceptional size) were engaged by elements from D5 and the Program on the island of Kuroshima, with the support of JMSDF assets.
An unaccounted-for NESTEGG was retroactively identified as being in the possession of a civilian on-site, but was used as the catalyst for the calling procedure that precipitated the arrival of ROLLYPOLLY specimens. NESTEGG was thus unable be secured.
Engagement resulted in the defeat of OPFOR and theirexpulsion from Kuroshima. JMSDF assets attempted to continue pursuit of remaining OPFOR until approx. thirty (30) nautical miles from site of engagement, where track on OPFOR was lost.
The Program affirms dedication to assist in D5’s follow-up efforts to deter adversarial efforts in-theater, and reassigns WOLF to this purpose.

Execution:
WOLF held in readiness for support of D5 activities in-theater.

Support:
Requisitions from US Forces Japan (USFJ) in-theater made available.
USFJ fire support assets released into operational reserve. Route WARNO through channels with NRO prefix. Above small arms, weapons employment contingent upon approval of D5.
