Holy Flame

Hour after hour had passed since the battle had begun. The numbers of demons had decreased significantly while the team was trying to defend ourselves in all this confusion.

One group of five High demons gather in the middle of the the glade closely in what it has left by the blue fire.

"Www...wwwe...need to do something...or else...it's only a matter of time before they slaughter us all.." 

"We... could fly away..."

"No...they will kill us in the back if try to flee...and I'm not running from humans"

"....ah...ah...perhaps...teleportation...."

"Not...a chance, we already spent most of our mana"

"Then I have an idea that might...the...Diablo spell..."

"Didn't you heard what I just...said..? we don't have enough...mana"

"Each one of us yes...but if we combine our mana...and cast Diablo...we can manage to flee"

One by one the five demons nodded positively, then hold hands with each other and they formed a small circle. Each one of them started whispering dark runes in ancient demonic language.

Masami and Ryota were fighting with a large demon holding a huge axe a few meters away from them. Ryota noticed the small ritual of the demons.

"What are those demons doing? Don't tell me they are praying" he asked Masami confused as he pointed with his finger to their side

Masami look at them, and her expression got darken.

"Now they aren't praying, they are casting a spell, and I think which one. QUICKLY we need to stop them before the finished casting the spell" 

Masami and Ryota charge towards to them, but a lot demons got in their away screaming in rage.

"GET AWAY FROM OUR BROTHERS"

"PROTECT OUR MASTERS"

Backing away by the organized defence Masami turned to Takashi and Nobuyuki which they were fighting in the other side.

"TAKASHIIII NOBUYUKI STOP THEM" as she pointed the five demons

Both of them look to the direction she show to them and nodded. Takashi throwed daggers against them but they were repulsed by an unknown shield around them. Nobuyuki charge on them and start striking them with his axe, trying desperately to break their shield.

"Curses, they already have move on...we can't stop them down" Masami yelled furiously as Takashi and Nobuyuki back off and join them

"What's this spell will do to us?" Ryota asked worried

"It's not a spell for us, it's for them. It's a demonic spell called Diablo, created by the ancient Archdemons Sorcerers. It makes all demons around the range of the spell go berserk."

"Which means?"

"It means...they won't feel any kind of pain, confusion or fear for the next few hours"

"They will be unstoppable" Takashi commented 

After a few moments the five demons open their eyes and yelled into the thin air:

"GIVE US UNLIMITED POWER OH ETERNAL HELL"

"Damn it they already finished" Nobuyuki groaned with irritation

Suddenly all survived demons stopped moving and closed their eyes. Then. they opened their eyes revealing a strong yellow glow coming from inside them. They start screaming and yelling like animals in the slaughterhouse. 

"Stick together or we are going to die" Masami instructed as she cast a shield around everyone

Everyone stuck closely to each other ready to fight, as all the demons charged on them like a pack of hungry piranhas. Masami's shield stop them for few moments but then they start attacking them by all sides.

Everyone started fighting back, but those demons were much more different than earlier. They were like drugged soldiers ready to die. Nobuyuki was swinging his axe to any demon who tried to getting closer. Takashi was throwing his daggers against them, but this time the daggers didn't find their targets.

 Ryota was out of breath by the nonstop swinging with his katana against the demons who were trying bite his flesh off. Masami was desperately trying to keep the High demons away, from launching an attack towards to them.

Then a High demon holding a notched whip, throw it directly to Masami. The whip wrapped her up and the demon pulled her to his side away from the others. Masami groaned in pain from the sharp thorns that pierced her entire body. The demon laughed wickedly by the whole scene.

"NOW YOU'RE MINE WITCH"

"MASAMI" Ryota yelled in rage and charged to the demon to save her. The demon laughed by the sight of his and unwrapped its whip from Masami, then its strike him with the whip. 

Ryota blocked its attack by cutting the whip in two with his katana, then he charged towards to him and sliced his belly. The demon groaned in pain, then it grabbed Ryota by his neck and push him against a tree.

"YOU INSOLENT FOOL, HOW DARE YOU RAISING YOU HAND AGAINST ME? A SUPERIOR CREATURE THAN YOU?"

Ryota groaned in pain as the demon choking him.

"RYOTA" Masami yelled desperately as Takashi and Nobuyuki were trying to reach him but getting blocked by the rest demons

"AFTER I KILL YOU, I WILL KILL THIS FEMALE AND THEN EVERY LOWLIFE HUMAN IN THIS CITY"

Ryota desperately grabbed the demon's face trying to push it away and yelled:

"LET GO OFF YOU DEMON"

Then suddenly, the demon's face catched fire by Ryota's hand. Screaming in pain the demon let go Ryota and grabbed its face, trying desperately to put off the fire.

"AAAAAHHHH AAAAHHHH IT BURNS IT BURNS, YOU BURNED YOU BURNED ME"

The fire was spread to the rest of its body, as the demon fell down on the ground and burned alive.

All the other demons look at  the scene with terror in their eyes.

"WHAT WAS THAT?"

"WHAT THAT HUMAN DID?"

"HOW COULD HUMAN BEING DO THIS?"

Masami, Takashi and Nobuyuki watched at Ryota dumbfounded. After a few moments, a lot demons charged towards to Ryota to avenge for the cruel death of their comrade.

"YOU WILL DIE HUMAN"

"WE ARE GOING TO FEAST YOUR FLESH, OF YOU AND ALL THE OTHER HUMANS"

Ryota back away a few steps frightened unable to summon his katana again. Then in his fear combined with his rage by the inhuman threats of the demons he raised his hand to stop them.

"STAY AWAY FROM ME YOU DEMONS" he yelled his lungs out

Then something spectacular happened. White fire flew through his hand burning any demon which was charging against him. The demons screamed in pain and pure rage as, the white fire wrapped their whole bodies. Every surviving demon crawled to the ground in flames unable to put hem off. After every last demon was burned to a crisp, the glade fell to silence.

Ryota fell to the ground completely exhausted. 

"RYOTA" everyone yelled with one voice as they run to their side

Masami knelt to him and hold him, as the rest support his back.

Ryota gently whispered.

"Are we alive?"

Masami smiled gently to him

"Thanks to you"

Ryota then closed his eyes from exhaustion.

Later back to the car Nobuyuki was driving everyone back to Kyoto. Takashi was sitting next to him while Masami was sitting on the back with Ryota. She had heal all of his wounds with her magic along with hers, but she was still was holding his body as he was lying down and resting his head on her lap.

She gently stroke a stray lock from his forehead.

"You did well Ryota dearie"
