Chapter 27:
The Bladderites, The Jarhands, and The Sound of Light
377 days, or 1 year and approximately 13 days before The Circumadversum Omatsuri, one afternoon.
About eight months have passed since Kitako Hasegawa, a mayor in Hokkaido Prefecture, was struck by Mensuna Bicorpus rites. Since one of the bladderites took control of Kitako's body, more and more of her bladderite brethren have spread to various human bodies.
As mayor, Kitako can interact with other officials and people in important positions. Kitako can help her bladderite brethren occupy the bodies of officials at the Hokkaido "circuit" or "do" level. Officials at that level can then seek out officials at the national level. And so on.
Perhaps we could call it Multi-Level Mensana Bicorpus, or Multi-Level Marketing Mensana Bicorpus. In less than a year, bladderites had successfully infiltrated the bodies of many Very Important and Very Very Important Persons. They became Very Very Important Mensana Bicorpus.
Signs of this success were apparent one afternoon in a meeting room in one of the towers belonging to the Inman Anno family. Several people possessed by bladderites had gathered there.
In the meeting room, the people sat in a circle. However, some sat in seats higher up than the others. This indicated that some of these individuals were inhabited by bladders with superior status and skills.
These bladderites with superior status and skills also chose to take over the bodies of people with favorable profiles. For example, bladderites with combat skills would choose an athlete or soldier, bladderites with thinking skills would choose an academic or researcher, and so on. At that time, there were six bladderites sitting in seats higher up than the others.
The six people sitting in the front seats, in order of their names starting with the Latin alphabet, are:
1. Eiru Inman Anno, whose name is written in kanji and katakana: "案納 詠瑠 インマン."
2. Haoto Nawa, whose name is written in kanji and katakana: "縄 羽音."
3. Issei Jinnouchi, whose name is written in kanji and katakana: "神内 一成."
4. Marika Inman Anno, whose name is written in kanji and katakana: "案納 マリカ・インマン."
5. Niki Kotegawa, whose name is written with the kanji characters "小手川 二気."
6. Yuito Kitagawa, whose name is written with the kanji characters "北河 結人."
Yuito Kitagawa, currently the Prime Minister of Japan, said, "Thanks to TR-33461 and TR-1597, who have resided in the bodies of the two daughters of the Inman Anno brothers, we can have a meeting room in this beautiful building."
Marika Inman Anno responded, "Well, with your prime ministerial body, we will also be very grateful to you."
Exchanging casual thanks was only a small part of the bladderites' conversation. More serious discussions became much more dominant in the dialogue.
One of the serious topics they discussed included each of them sharing information specifically about their work.
Niki Kotegawa stated, "It looks like it's going as expected. We'll be arriving in 150 to 190 days. I've already prepared a private ship to pick them up at sea."
Everyone at the meeting expressed joy and body language upon hearing that they would be receiving additional manpower.
Issei Jinnouchi, who holds a high position in the Japanese military, reported, "I've prepared all our troops. I can guarantee that each day they're getting more accustomed to and more skilled at controlling their new bodies."
Everyone at the meeting expressed joy and body language upon hearing that their troops were getting more prepared.
Yuito Kitagawa said, "We now have a majority in the council. This will make it easier for us to create regulations and policies that further support our movement. A special treatment program for hikikomori, for example, would be seen as a great benefit for those individuals, but of course, we'll also reap social benefits."
Yuito clarified the details of the program, explaining that the camps to be used to “help” and house hikikomori addicts were already staffed with workers infiltrated by bladderites.
Yuito argued, “We’ll get great experimental material from that.”
Everyone at the meeting displayed expressions and body language of excitement at the prospect of obtaining a laboratory with relative ease.
Eiru said, “My team and I are ready to do just that, creating our defense ‘mandala.’ How are the tower materials going, Onee-chan?”
Marika replied, “I’ve already purchased copper and antimony from major mines around the world. But with such a large purchase in such a short time, I think we’ll arouse some suspicion from various countries.”
Yuito responded, “It’s okay. Let them be suspicious. They’re suspicious, but they still think money is money. Besides, copper and antimony aren’t the materials for their greatest weapon to date: nuclear weapons.”
Issei agreed, "Right. Let them be suspicious and guess what the copper and antimony we bought are for while they continue to accept our money. That's when we'll seal our victory with a blitzkrieg."
Niki commented, "Take the antimony and copper, and we'll win the gold medal."
"Hahaha..." Several people in the meeting room laughed at Niki's comment. Almost everyone present wore expressions of joy, feeling like they were about to achieve victory. Almost everyone, that is, except for one person: Haoto Nawa.
Haoto Nawa was a renowned academic and researcher. With his thoughtful expression, he only revealed a faint smile after hearing Niki's comment. He then said, "We can certainly be happy, but we must remain vigilant."
All the bladderites immediately turned their attention to Haoto. This was understandable, as Naoto's bladder was the one that successfully created the Mensana Bicorpus process, which was first successfully applied to Banh Đức Hải and Guruh Dwi Cahyo.
Yuito said, “Let’s hear him out.”
Haoto picked up a suitcase he had placed next to his chair and placed it on his lap. From the box, he took out a smaller one. The smaller box had a uniformly colored surface on three sides—the front, back, and sides. The uniformly colored surface was the cover of a book.
Haoto Nawa held it up and showed the book, saying, “This is Euclid’s The Elements.”
Haoto explained, “This book dates back over two thousand three hundred years and was written by humans who we know are the most intelligent living beings on the planet.”
Haoto stated, “I must admit, the content is very good. I think we shouldn’t underestimate the humans we’re facing.”
Issei asked, “How intelligent do you think they are?”
Haoto replied, “Perhaps they’ve already noticed our presence on their planet. Perhaps they already know how Mensana Bicorpus works and how our filaments work. Perhaps they already know how our mandala works; perhaps they’ll prevent it from working.”
Hearing Haoto’s last sentence, Issei spontaneously said, “Huh?!”
Yuito tried to confirm, “Perhaps they already know our mandala?”
Haoto offered an answer that slightly displeased his fellow bladderites, “Right. Perhaps they know our mandala will be shaped like Proposition 5 in Book IV of Euclid’s Elements. Perhaps they know our mandala will form a triangle first and then form a circle outside the triangle.”
However, Haoto made a statement that pleased his fellow bladderites: “But I think I already know how they’ll prevent our mandala from working, and the answer lies within Euclid’s Elements as well.”
(000)
233 days, or 1 month and approximately 19 days before the Circumadversum Omatsuri, one morning.
Somewhere in Ibaraki Prefecture, Japan. A prefecture located in the center of the Japanese archipelago, directly bordering the Pacific Ocean.
Heavy equipment was seen moving around. Workers were practicing their skills, realizing the engineers' designs. Iron, steel, wood, and concrete—various elements—were being combined to create a complex of several buildings on a plot of land in what was formerly Hitachi Province.
Haoto Nawa stood on the top floor of a semi-permanent structure. He watched as humans and several humans possessed by bladderites constructed a tower that would eventually realize their entire plan.
That was the plan: involve humans up to a certain point, only after which the installation of the building would be carried out by humans who had undergone the Mensuna Bicorpus rites. This is possible because the Bladderites have summoned their other colonies so they can take over more human bodies.
However, Haoto Nawa and his fellow bladderites are unaware that an event hundreds of years ago that occurred in the same prefecture could thwart their plans.
