SCHOOL CLINIC. ROOM 16."I told you to leave, I'm fine."
"I heard." Shade replied, not budging.
Deckra scoffed, he turned towards the bright window with a frown.
A curtain spread across Deckra's hospital bed, enclosing the section. Shade sat on a low seat beside him.
Deckra's right arm and left leg were bandaged, his shirtless back stuck to the bed like a magnet, he didn't have the strength to even move much.
"You're just wasting your time," he said.
"Your president left you, didn't he?" he added, and Shade fell silent.
"Who's using who now? Seems we're both in trouble because of our past." Deckra kept his gaze at the window.
"Why did you choose someone like Ds? His spirit doesn't match anything about you." Shade asked, trying to avoid answering the one directed to him.
"You keep forgetting, I always said I'll adjust to any powerful influence I happen to come across," Deckra replied confidently.
"But you must have your limits right?"
"They're elastic." Deckra quickly countered in such a decisive tone.
Then silence prevailed again.
"Mine aren't," Shade whispered with a gloomy expression.
"You still have fragments of yourself that are aiming for the top. It's only normal for someone like you. You were made for it. If it weren't for that incident, then you would already be on par with the Destroyers." Deckra went on, still looking away.
"Do you think I can fully give someone my all?" Shade asked.
"Not a chance, and you can't lead either. Your situation is quite pitiful." Deckra replied.
"Today—" a smile appeared on Shade's lips.
"You unlocked a new percent. You unlocked forty."
Deckra didn't say anything, but Shade still kept his warm smile.
"You don't need to make me feel better. You disgust me," Deckra finally spoke.
"My aura begins at forty percent, remember, and it felt great. That's why I can't stop serving Dark. Whenever I'm with him, I feel like I'm back at a hundred, y'know?" Shade sat up, his smile expanded as he placed his hand on Deckra's bandaged arm on a whim.
"Don't touch me!" he barked and Shade immediately removed his hand.
"This is the last time we'll talk like this. I can't keep being your outlet." Shade stood up, but the smile was still very much alive.
"My president—"
"—Wants to destroy yours. So from now on, you're nobody special to me. Get well." Shade swung the curtains open, about to pass through.
"I'll beat the hell out of you one day," Deckra frowned as he kept staring at the lone window.
"Not even in your dreams." Shade closed the curtains behind him.
↑→↓←↑→Shade pushed the door to Spades Class 1 open, glancing through the space he saw Miss Bory at the teacher's table.
He shut the door behind him and everyone went silent, watching him as he walked past.
He got to his usual seat at the back, and the class's eyes still followed him.
"Has young Deckra gotten conscious, did you have a general checkup?" Miss Bory asked.
Shade nodded, "I'm free to attend classes." he replied sharply.
He rolled his eye to his side, Dark faced forward, not sparing him a glance.
"You got a second," Dark suddenly said, still facing forward.
"It's what you asked for right?"
Dark didn't reply.
"My goal for now, is to break every record I can in this academy so no one in this class is looked down on again." he later spoke up.
"Oh, okay," Shade cleared his throat, the atmosphere felt awkward.
Shade folded his lips before slightly turning,
"Dark, I can't give you—"
"I saw you." Dark chipped in.
"I saw all your movements, so don't think you're suddenly too good for me. I'll catch up and show you why I'm going to be your president." Dark sighed softly.
"So if you can endure staying stagnant for a little while. I'll catch up and we'll move up further together till we hit the very top," he added.
Shade scoffed and adjusted his seat. "I won't wait long," he smirked.
Destiny said the assassin after me can't gain access to LSP grounds easily. So that means...Dark tapped his desk repeatedly.
First order of business — Decimate Ds' group to pieces."No way!" a female student yelled, clinging to her phone as the entire class stared at her.
"Quiet down or die." Miss Bory made her usual warnings.
"The LSP student weekly magazine is out— and Dark is on the cover!"
"What?!" Everyone grabbed their phones.
"Whoa, a member of this class has never appeared on the first page before, but the cover?!" A guy shouted.
"You've broken a record man!" he added.
" Quiet!" Miss Bory slammed her fists on the teacher's table and everyone immediately sealed their mouths, some even choked on their own saliva.
Dark kept a placid look as if he wasn't the one they were talking about.
Seems I'm already on the right track. his lips curved at an angle no one noticed.
His phone buzzed, delivering a sharp, short vibration on his desk; then he picked it up.
"Invite from the Sapphire to join The LSP Student Practice System," the pop-up read.
He immediately deleted it.
What's the fun in going through the front door...He placed the phone back on his desk.
