Chapter 2:

Chapter 1: Prison Break.

E-UNIT: The Blue Angels of Death

The criminals slowed down. A confused murmur ran through the crowd. Three girls with white skin and blue hair were blocking the bridge. It was their only path to freedom.

To the prisoners, this looked like a joke. Why would three girls who looked like lost cosplayers stand in the way of a desperate mob? The public knew nothing about the E-UNIT project. There were no news reports, no warnings. The flying display earlier was just a blur to them. They only saw obstacles. Weak ones.

The mob sped up.

E-UNIT 02 narrowed her eyes. "Attack," she ordered. Her voice was cold and flat over the comms.

The E-UNITs blurred into motion.

02 didn't brace herself. She didn't take a stance. She simply walked into the lead attacker. She punched him in the gut. The impact was sickening. It didn't sound like a fist hitting a person. It sounded like a car hitting a deer. The prisoner froze. He coughed up blood and stopped moving instantly.

But 02 wasn’t done. Her database said adult males could take a lot of pain, so she didn't hold back. As he doubled over, clutching his stomach, she kicked him in the jaw. The sound of metal hitting bone echoed across the bridge. He fell backward, barely conscious. She followed up with a kick to his chest that launched him into his friends like a ragdoll.

03 was next. She faced the second attacker. He threw a punch. To her sensors, it looked like slow motion. She didn't even bother to block. She countered with a straight right. It hit with the force of a truck moving at 100 km/h.

The man spun like a top.

“Hiyah!” 03 chirped. She followed up with a spinning heel kick. The man went flying across the gap. He slammed into the prison’s outer wall, leaving a red stain on the concrete.

05 was the ruthless one. The third prisoner hesitated. He was terrified. But it didn't save him. 05 dashed in and caught his fist mid-swing. She twisted his wrist. The snap was loud enough to hear meters away. While he screamed, she grabbed his broken arm and swung him around. She tossed him into the crowd where he knocked down three other criminals like human bowling pins.

The mob froze. Three adult men, destroyed in seconds.

02 smirked. She knew the battle was won the moment fear entered their minds. "They are hesitating. Wipe them out."

The prisoners realized there was no way back. They turned into cornered rats and charged, screaming. To the E-UNITs, they were just punching bags.

02 launched herself at a large inmate. She grabbed him by the wrist. She didn't stop. She used her thrusters to fly forward, dragging him like a battering ram. She plowed through the crowd like a truck hitting traffic cones. The man she used as a shield passed out, but she kept going. She used his limp body to clear the path.

Meanwhile, 03 was dancing. Two criminals attacked her at once. She dodged every strike with the grace of a champion boxer. Suddenly, she stopped dodging. She reached out and grabbed them both by the collar.

"What the...?"

“Going up!”

Dust swirled as her thrusters kicked in. She shot straight up into the air, dangling the two screaming men by their shirts.

"AAAAH! WHAT IS HAPPENING?!"

"Batter up!" 03 chirped. She swung her arms inward, smashing the two men’s heads together. She dropped one. He hit the ground heavily and went silent. She looked at the second one still in her grip. He was already unconscious.

"Boring," she muttered, letting go. He fell and landed next to his friend with a heavy thud.

On the ground, 05 was outnumbered. Six large men surrounded her with weapons drawn.

"Perfect!" 05 beamed. She grabbed a steel streetlamp rooted in the sidewalk. Sparks showered down as she ripped the metal pole straight out of the concrete.

The six men skidded to a halt. Their brains refused to process the image. A girl, no bigger than a middle schooler, was holding a 20-foot steel streetlamp with one hand. No strain. No shaking. She held it as lightly as a plastic straw.

"Monster..." one whispered. His weapon slipped from his sweating hands. They realized too late that they weren't fighting the police. They were fighting something that ignored the laws of physics.

She didn't give them time to run. She swung. “Too late!”

The pole swept through them. Five distinct metallic impacts rang out in perfect sync. The men collapsed instantly. The pole was now dented and dripping.

03 landed beside her, grinning. "Home run!"

05 chuckled, wiping dust from her skirt. "You mean a Five Run? Haha!"

"Girls," 02’s voice crackled in their ears. She sounded annoyed. "Focus on the mission."

"Oh, right!" 03 panicked.

They continued the purge. One by one, the resistance fell until the entrance was silent. The pavement was no longer grey. It was red. The E-UNITs stepped over the bodies and headed for the prison gates.

The Director of Police watched from a dark room. He stared at his screen in disbelief. He could not believe these girls. Cute faces, but so powerful and efficient.

Outside the prison, silence fell. The shore was still. No one dared jump into the cold water. They flew to the prison entrance with Unit 02 leading. But Unit 03 felt something wrong. She shoved Unit 02 aside just as they landed.

A storm of bullets exploded from the entrance. The criminals inside had waited. They fired a deadly barrage using the wall as cover.

Unit 02 immediately called Father. “Father, they blocked the entrance. They have lethal weapons. ARs, shotguns, and more!”

Father answered. He was a young genius, just twenty-two years old. "You trained for this. Real life is always more complicated. E-UNIT! Initiate Code Red immediately!"

Their eyes flashed red. Their faces went serious.

Two red shields popped up like umbrellas. Six plates in each hand. One piece shot out, then another, snapping into place. The plates locked and formed two glowing hexagons. The shields shined thick red with dark edges. They hummed with power.

Unit 02 shouted angrily. “Show these bastards who holds the high ground!”

They moved into position. The units formed a circle to cover every angle. They stepped inside the prison together. They entered with high confidence. Was it Code Red that gave them that?

02 raised her voice through the gunfire. “Like we trained: attack, dismantle, reuse!”

Bullets bounced off her glowing red shield. She launched herself forward without hesitation. Her shield smashed into the first armed criminal, sending him flying into the wall. She grabbed his M16 rifle along with some spare ammo.

The wrist of each E-UNIT generated a weak magnetic field. It was made to hold weapons. The system was still experimental, and the Police Directorate hadn’t approved androids carrying guns yet. That was for humans only.

02 didn’t care. She aimed. One precise headshot. Down. Another. Down. No wasted bullets. No hesitation. Five enemies at the entrance were dead before anyone could blink.

03 and 05 followed her lead. 03 picked up a sniper rifle. 05 grabbed a pair of pistols.

"From the looks of it," 02 noted, "the armory got looted. That’s how they took down the guards so easily.”

"Then we search for survivors," 05 agreed. "Anyone still breathing."

They split up. 02 took the upper floors. 05 moved toward the cell blocks. 03 headed to the inner yard. A sniper rifle was attached to her back, perfect for her precision systems.

02, Upper Floors

02 advanced carefully. She scanned every shadow. No survivors. Only blood. The bodies of the guards told the story. The criminals had been merciless.

She stopped outside a small office. Her sensors caught voices inside.

“Leave some for us, dude!” one criminal shouted.

“Yeah, stop hogging everything!” another yelled back.

“This was my plan! I get the bigger slice of the cake!” The third one screamed.

02’s systems spiked. She understood immediately what was happening inside. She kicked the door open and charged. What she saw froze her for half a second. Then fury took over.

The female prison doctor was dead. The assistant was cornered, half stripped, and terrified.

02 raised her weapon. The room exploded in gunfire. Her gunfire. Every criminal fell, but she kept shooting at the last one long after he was dead. For the first time, anger showed on her face. A robot’s face.

She turned to the assistant. The woman was sobbing, her mouth gagged with torn fabric. 02 ripped it away, untied her, and helped her up. The woman cried and thanked her. 02 didn’t answer. She just nodded and moved to the next room.

The prison manager lay slumped over his desk, lifeless.

03, The Yard

The inner yard was a bloodbath. Bodies lay everywhere. Mostly police, a few criminals. The smell of gunpowder filled the air. As 03 walked forward, gunfire burst from the upper windows.

She reacted instantly. Her thrusters flared as she rose above the yard into the sunlight. Bullets flew from below, but aiming at her was impossible with the sun directly behind her.

In one smooth motion, she took the sniper rifle from her back and rested it against her shoulder. 03 moved with terrifying grace. Calm. Elegant. Lethal. Her sight adjusted. Every target was highlighted with a red dot.

Click. Bang. Headshot.

Click. Bang. Another shot. One more head down.

Click. Bang. A headshot through a half-broken window.

Click. Bang. “I wonder if I can keep this weapon. Likely not,” she whispered.

Click. Bang. A body fell from the upper floor to the ground.

Click. Bang. Silence.

Six seconds. Six bullets. Six bodies.

Empty casings fell from the air like rain. The gunfire from the criminals stopped. Not a single bullet came her way anymore. It all took six seconds.

05, The Cell Blocks

05 moved quietly. She scanned the area with her sensors. Most cells were open and empty. Only the last row, five cells had movement.

She noticed a few old cameras were still active. She quickly hacked into the local system and linked them to her visual feed. Ten criminals were inside. They were armed and on edge, expecting an attack.

She peeked through a small window. Outside, she could see 03 holding her sniper, ready to fire.

“Perfect,” 05 whispered.

The moment 03’s first shot rang out, all ten criminals turned toward the sound. The perfect distraction.

05 burst in like a storm. Both pistols blazed. Each target was detected, tagged, and executed in a blink. Her eyes darted left and right, tracking every movement faster than any human could. She moved through the hallway. Five cells facing each other, three meters apart. Every door was a chance for a headshot.

Then silence. She stopped walking. Ten bodies hit the floor almost in sync.

She spun her pistols in her hands and blew the smoke from the barrels. She smirked. “All clear.”

The shooting stopped across the entire prison at the exact same moment. A calm washed over the island. It was the heavy calm after a storm. The smell of metal and blood lingered, broken only by the soft tapping of metal feet.

From different corners of the battlefield, they emerged. Three elegant girls with blue hair and white skin, looking like aliens standing in the ruins of an action movie.

"Connection Established."

"I couldn't be prouder," Father’s voice came through. "You perfected every action. Every shot. The Director is ecstatic right now!"

"Thanks, Father," 02 replied. Her voice was calm again, the rage buried deep in her files. "Thanks to you, everything felt easy."

"Yeah!" 03 giggled, her innocent voice returning. "Those heads were popping like popcorn!"

05 nodded seriously. "Mission success."

Father chuckled softly. "Indeed," he said. "Now... return to base. We have some upgrades to make."

Metromania PD – 10:00 AM

They flew back to base. Father had called them to set the team rules before they started fighting over who was in charge.

They knocked on Father’s door and waited. From inside came the sound of tools. A clank here, a snap there.

"One minute! You were faster than I thought!" Father called out.

The girls looked at each other, puzzled.

The door clicked open. Father stood there. He was a lanky blond man with rimless glasses. His green eyes shone with pride, or maybe he was just shy about the mess in his room. He laughed nervously and pushed the door open. "Haha… uhm, welcome to your creator’s… Nest? Office? Just think of it as your home!"

They stepped in. The room was a mess. Parts and tools lay everywhere. On a table in the center, Unit 04 lay wide open. She was missing parts, looking like a broken puzzle. Maybe he was fixing her.

Father had used Unit 01 as a test for emotions. He wanted to teach the others how to deal with humans. But Unit 04 was different. She was destroyed during the "Berserk Test." The old Police Head wouldn't give money for the project without that test. He made 03 and 05 attack Unit 04 to see what would happen if one went crazy. It was ugly.

Humans were scared of robots. It was like self-driving cars: one robot mistake and people lose trust. Humans trusted human drivers because people can adapt. But they feared machines would fail.

Father squeezed through wires and loose papers to get to his desk. The whole office shook. Finally, he sat down, breathing hard. "That was rough! Anyway, thanks for coming. I’m not used to talking to robots, so, uhm… yes. As I said before, thank you for the amazing performance. I’m impressed."

"We trained for every case possible, so everything went smooth," 03 said.

"We are ready to start official missions, Father," 02 added.

Father smiled and started typing fast on his keyboard. "First, I will activate an automatic override in your CPU. If any sensor detects a gun pointed at you, the Red Shield opens automatically."

His fingers flew across the keys. "Next, I’ll set your ranks."

He looked up at 02. "02, you will be Captain. Your ruthless style and zero hesitation fit the role."

He turned to the next one. "03, you are the Sub-Captain. Your long-range skill and teamwork with 02 make you perfect for it."

Finally, he pointed at 05. "And 05, you are the Team Technician. Your calm hacking skills make you perfect for behind-the-scenes work." He paused, a sly grin forming. "And yes, I saw you steal that 'Ethical Hacking' book."

05 froze. She looked around nervously, avoiding eye contact.

Father laughed. "But remember: you all fight together. Everyone hits, everyone covers, everyone listens to the Captain."

The three answered in one voice: "Yes, Father!"

He slapped his hand on his face. "You will not call me that name! Don't you start!"

"Not in a million years... Faaatheer," 03 replied, serious and playful at once.

"You don’t need to be that serious to say it!" Father laughed. He smiled, then turned to the tablet in his hand. "03 and 05, I sent you patrol maps. Cover Sectors Five to Eight. Captain, I have a special case for you."

He paused, eyes bright. The three leaned forward, ready.

The E-UNITs dashed through the hallways. The echo of their boots followed the hum of their engines. They slammed open the doors of the Police Department, then split into the air, launching to their sectors.

In a dark corner of the corridor, a lone figure watched them go. His glasses and grey beard caught the light, but the rest of him was hidden in shadow.

03 and 05 took off West. 02, the Captain, headed North.

The Police Department stood at the heart of the city. It was surrounded by skyscrapers, crowds, and noise. Metromania was rich, but space was rare. The E-UNIT lab was squeezed into old rooms, a makeshift HQ.

"If the team expands," 05 muttered, her voice cold, "those little rooms will never be enough."

03 laughed, flying beside her. "Father is already cramping his legs in there."

"That’s just temporary," 05 replied. "We will prove the E-UNITs are the better police force."

The two vanished into the city lights while the Captain descended toward her mission.
